This was on Burgers gourmet close up magic set at a bar in Chicago. The effect is called thought sender and is very strong. The script and staging make this a superb piece of intimate magic
Sat with Eugene at a magic session several years ago. I asked him to write the single most valuable piece of advice he could give to a magician in my journal and autograph it. He wrote "The three magic words are praise, appreciation & recognition". To this day Im still not sure what he meant by that or if I agree with it.
Wil Bryan I knew Eugene personally. He was very poetic at times about the way he gave advice. I can tell you at least from the talks I've had with him he most likely was referring to the way you should praise, appreciate, and recognize the person helping you. They are more receptive and value your magic more when you respect them as a person, not a punchline. He was very much opposed to the combative performing style some Magicians have

earlier in the performance he had put the cards there so the mat was some what slanted, for people to see everything easier.
I went to one of his lectures and he did this trick. he's awesome.
