This is great, as I have a close friend that signs auslan, but the guy with the mustache is too fast. I could follow all of the others though.

The guy in black is doing signs the most 'clean', I would say. The older guy is doing it quite relaxed, in a way that a deaf person would talk to another deaf person.
The blond girl at 8:00 was the best. I wish she was teaching me. I couldn't really see what the guy with the mo was doing as to repeat it.

Great phrases, thank you for sharing! I've just done a short course and was looking to see how different people sign, this was useful for more practical purposes after learning individual vocabulary. The gentleman with the mustache was a good challenge as his movements were faster and more natural to what I've seen in conversation.
This is great! I don't know anyone who's deaf, but I've always wanted to learn sign language.

Excellent starter - thanks! And although repeating each phrase 3x makes the video 3x as long, it really helps with wrote learning.
The 'Where are you from?' one is really hard to understand. Try to break the movements up as much as possible :)
3 signs, you (point) when (tap your cheek) holiday (2handsign circle motion).
Looks like “you from where”. I learnt “where” from other videos. The moustache guy is fast, I’m guessing ASL first language from childhood. Too quick even slowed down for hearing adults just starting to learn.
I'm not currently deaf, I am 13 and I help out at my highschools education support centre. We have a lot of speak impaired or deaf children in their so I've have decided to learn auslan. I thank you guys a lot for helping

I'd like to learn the ones the bloke with the mo did. They all went right over my head.
can I ask, is this video mirror imaged? so "nice to meet you" should be a movement beginning with the left hand, or do we have to reverse what they are showing on the video (as in, we should start with the right hand)?

Does it matter if I sometimes use my left hand? I’m ambidextrous and sometimes swap hands without realising it. Would something like “do you want a coffee” still be correct if I signed it with my left hand or is it reliant on hand as well?
I agree that a couple of people are a bit quick, we’re beginners so being clear with the motions and hand shapes is important. I couldn’t tell where some ended and another began.

I know this may be really ignorant on my part but I'm a beginner and just a little bit more explanation would really help me... half the time I didn't know which way to look or whether your mouth movement was part of it or not...

Hi! I'm wondering what the 'peace sign' (index and middle finger up, ring and little finger closed with thumb resting on top) means in auslan? Does it translate?
i appreciate all the videos and time taken to create these. unfortunately being new to AUSLAN some of the hand and finger movements are way too quick, blended with the next or not clear. also i find videos with speech as well as subtitles are wonderful. thank you again

Can you show me any signs that are different from NSW signs ?
With the how are you part, is the guy in video answering it and is saying “im good”? Or is he asking the question?
Rihana Awad he is asking the question, it’s sign for how are you finishes with both hands in a thumbs up and then you can answer with good or bad, good being a thumbs up or bad being a pinky up
I was wondering if the movements needed to be mirrored or not. I really want to learn but I am confused. Thanks.
The convention is that you use your dominant hand to do the main movements when signing and fingerspelling - that's the hand you write with. If you are holding a drink or something with that hand, it's fine to use the other hand. Don’t stress too much about which hand you use - just do what feels natural for now.
If it's too fast, use the settings to slow it down.
I guess vicdeaf has centres in Victoria only...what about nsw? how to learn complete Auslan??? please guide.
Hi Sonya, for classes in NSW, you should contact the Deaf Society of NSW. They run classes for NSW based areas.
I going to enroll end of July, hope the teacher will break down and slower than in this video. All teachers did tutorial very quick and hard to follow when it is not clear. some phases "Where are you from" unable to get it at all.
Hi, I live in a place where there isn't any auslan teaching, so I appreciate your video. Sometime signs are made a bit quick though and even slowing down the video speed doesn't allow to see the sign properly, what a pity.I'm trying to learn some signs to teach my baby and being able to communicate with him.These are some sentences I'd love to learn:''Are you hungry? Would you like a biscuit? Would you like some more meat, vegetable, fruits? Are you thirsty? Would you like some water, milk, juice? Have you had enough?Have you pood, peed? Do you want your nappy changed? Are you itching? Is there a bug on you? Are you tired? Do you want to sleep? Let's go to bed. Let's go outside for a walk, a play in the park. Did you ever learn how to do these and teach your baby? Did it work out? I have seen this before over the years through documentaries seeming to be executed well with people's kids

This is a bit late but if you're still wondering, it depends on what hand you write with. Think of one hand as your pen and the other hand as your paper. At 3:50 the man signs "What time..." he signs 'what' with his left hand and when he signs 'time' he uses his left hand in motion on his stagnant right hand. Single handed signs you do with your dominant hand. I hope that makes sense.
5:30 I always thought that 'funny' was making a 'thumbs up' hand and running the thumb under the chin and away from your face? The sign she did is what I know as 'laugh'.

Looking tthrough my Auslan sign Langusage book printed in Victoria, some of the signs don't match up with the book. The book wasn't cheap. Feel like I wasted my money.
This was really great, the girls were great but the guys seemed too fast. Especially the guy with the tash. Needed to sloooow it down a bit

You’d sign your age in front of your nose, so you’d just sign ‘eleven’ in front of your nose. If you look into the numbers video (I think Lisa Mills has one), they may go through ages
This is all too fast, no instructions, they don't slow anything down to break it down, and the guy with the moustache is so quick I can't understand, it's all gibberish.
Great, and yet random sentences to teach us, but I don't know if I'm doing anything right because it's so quick and there's no break down of words first
