Awsome John!! Thanks for making this video!! I hadn't even considered using the trim switches to do this, but that opens up the other momentary switches on the TX12 for another use case. LOVE IT!! 👍😎
You can go one direction only with it. Just use the down position for the logical switch and to clean it up I would remove the logic for the up button.
can you show a way to have two radio profile in one openTX companion? I have the jumper T18 ..hehe and I just order the radiomaster color gold. or do I need two computers? maybe show on next open TX school?
I could show it, but it's really easy to do, just add a profile. You can switch between them as needed. I have multiple radios setup...Just click SETTINGS -> RADIO PROFILEs -> ADD RADIO PROFILE Then you change between them as-needed.
TY John, I have been want to free some toggles and this will allow it with ele and ail to still be on separate switches. is there a way to have them stay at last flown rate as it sounds like they reset each time you turn on the model??
I did a small amount of testing and I did see GVAR initialize with a non-zero value more than once, but I have no configuration steps to make that deterministic. You'll have to test...I purposely designed this one to reset to a specific value on each load of the model.
Hey John. I was wondering would it be possible to set flaps up in flight modes on open tx. So when I flick my switch for Landing flaps I could adjust the trim for the elevator in that flight mode seperate to the elevator trim for flaps up. I hope that's makes sense what I'm asking :). Keep up the good work.
Sure. Just use the same switch to activate your flight mode as you do to activate your flaps. Here is a video on setting up flaps with a switch: th-cam.com/video/boDiKX33dCg/w-d-xo.html Use that same switch to activate your flight mode and configure the flight mode to use its own trim. That will do it.
Very Useful !!. You can make a video installing the SI and SJ (momentary buttons, switches or toggle). It very easy to install and could be interesting for people who want to enhance capabilities of tx16s with two more switches. thnx in advance
Example would make more sense if the radio used did not already have a 6 postion selector. WHY would you want your rates to go from the lowest value to the highest when you cycle through?
The request came from someone looking to buy a Tx12. It will also work for all OpenTx radios. Some people (like me) use the 6p as a flight mode switch. It’s also not about the switches, it’s about teaching how logic on OpenTx works so no matter what function the viewer wants, they’re equipped to use the logic available in the software to get it done. I don’t judge what people want to do on their radios.
Watch my tutorial videos on logical switches. This is a very simple sticky switch. Every single logical switch function is explained in this video: th-cam.com/video/u-EOmqWQmvs/w-d-xo.html
Thanks. this helped me figure out how to make the momentary switch SH into a toggle for throttle cut.
Great idea. You've got the right idea--take these techniques and use them creatively for your needs.
Need Throttle cut for helicopter.
Could you post the settings for doing that? I want to do the same thing
Another valuable snippet John. I like these kind of informational videos. Keep up the good work.
Much appreciated!

You're welcome. OpenTx is amazing software when you learn to think like it does.
great snippet john. love the flow, through all your videos
I appreciate that! Thanks Vance.
Excellent !!!! Thanks for the tutorial.
You are welcome!
one more 5 star snippet tks a lot
Appreciate the comment. Thanks for watching.
Could you do this with the tx12 momentary button!

@@RCVideoReviews thanks
@@travissenft3242 set the momentary switch (SH) for throttle cut on and off.

@@RCVideoReviews I will see if I can make it work but may just have to live with it
Hi Andrew. A great video again !
Could you please make a video on how to bind a Frsky G-RX8 Vario Rx to the Radiomaster TX16S ? Thanks in advance !
Por qué is the Transcript in Spanish?

Thanks for watching and commenting. I may take-up the switch install at some point.

Genius!
Cool right?
No idea why, but cool! 😁
Tricky stuff this radio can do.
Now if only you would show us how to use the SH momentary switch for throttle cut HINT HINT HINT ;-)
