@Anne C it's very rare but Yuna Kim should have been the only 3 woman in history to have two Olympic golds, I think that's what it meant the first comment, because everybody knows that she deserved that second gold medal in shochi and the "victory" of the Russian was a total joke and a biased result.

Not to mention that is a veeeery tough competition, where we can’t find in Korea even nowadays lol so Yuna have absolutely no competition when she competes there.. where the competition matters (JGP, Jr Worlds and the whole senior circuit) Evgenia and Yuna never finished off the podium :) ok, still an unfair comparison since she have been only three season as senior.. let’s see how she’ll do in the next seasons..
Satoko and Sasha don’t belong in this video because of their medal counts and that they had some moderate success, but not nearly that successful as Yu Na and Mao including Carolina. Sasha has consistency issues during her competition. Everyone knew it.
and now Alina Zagitova would certainly enter the top 10 with olympic gold and a world title to her name. Yuna, Mao and Carolina are still my favorites.
@@壁山-f4s you want to down grade Yuna Kim, but you have no way to do it except picking on other Korean skaters that have nothing to do with Yuna's career because she was indeed PERFECT. Poor you and shame on you😂 What made you want to down grade somebody else that has nothing to do with your life?
I believe the ultimate figure skater would be someone with technical abilities(textbook) and artistry of Yuna Kim, added with sasha cohen's wonderful spins, Mao asada's triple axel or even better as high as Ito's legendary 3A, and Trusova's (junior skater) quads! P.s. this is just my personal opinion And my wishful thinking
You are a bit off on that one. Sasha C. also had wonderful spirals as well as spins, but that is all. Sasha Trusova has shown some very unique techniques as well. Yulia Lipiniskaya’s spins was absolutely insane as well as Alissa Czisny who should have been designated as a spin queen even though she has similar consistency issues like Sasha C. Alissa’s spin was like Lucinda Ruh. but only better and perfectly centered.
If you count country, Japan has the most. Canada up there. While Russia which produced so many female skaters only one, Evgenia Madvedeva, made it. South Korea has only one but that one is more than enough.
Japan, Russia and US literally produced tons of figure skaters Better criticize US because clearly since Torino, the ladies failed to rise to the expectation. Nagasu's 4th finish in 2010, Gold's missing out the podium (well, she could get bronze if Sotnikova's scored proportionately), and then Pyeongchang with that 9-10-11 finish really showcased how the US female skaters really hit a slump for the past decade
For those who think Yuna's flip had a wrong edge, find her 2008 WC commented by Dick Button. ' It is straight. It is not inside or outside, it is straight. That's rare and that is jumping'. Transitions, values of components etc are changing depending on a judging system, however, a quality of jumps are not. She was a rarest of all in figure skating history when it comes to jumps and a smooth transition in between all the element. Amazing speed into a take off, distance between take off and landing as well as heights. Perfect edge control using deep and precise in& out edges on step sequence. In 2014 Olympic, British commentator mentioned about her step sequence like this ' That is what we call SKATING SKILL'. Perfect and textbook edge take off on every jump. In 2013 WC, Canadian commentator mentioned her jumping technique like this ' Almost like a machinery in terms of precision'. Also, on the same competition, another commentator said on her flip like this ' Aww, that technique... if there is anyone out there who wants to learn how to jump properly, this is the way you do it'. I do figure skating, so I know how hard it is to make your performance look easy and relaxed. Now, there are just jumping machines who don't care about quality take off, flow and and smoothness.
Nice list, and I'm glad to see Joannie, Carolna, and Sasha on here, but I would've loved to see Ashley make the list. Her Moulin Rouge performances give me chills, and seeing her finally win that Worlds silver was an awesome moment for me!
I’m going to concur, but Sasha shouldn’t be on this list. Why? I suggest you see another video of the most successful skaters in rank. The most medals that includes Gold helps determines how successful that skater will be in the long run. And yes Ashley Wagner should definitely be in and other videos as well.
I do not understand the meaning of ranking success skaters only with the current scoring law. Sulzkaya and Michelle Kwan are among the most successful athletes. However, removing the players graded by the old scoring method from the ranking is very incongruous.
Some would argue against Worlds silver and bronze and perhaps even Worlds silver and Olympic bronze being worth more than Olympic gold. Many sports fans consider an Olympic medal as worth more than a Worlds medal, especially an Olympic gold. But I can understand not wanting to include Sotnikova. And it would be strange to include Arakawa and Zagitova instead of Myahara and Rochette, if Sotnikova was not included, and even stranger to include only one of them. So I can understand your decision.
respect all skaters, but i love Mao & Zhenya;and always enjoy watching them on ice. But;what about Katerina Witt? She deserves to be among top ten-on the top and Zagitova, also.
Yuna was more than just her textbooks jumps. The entire reason people loved her so much was because of the perfect combination between technique and artistry she had. She actually felt the music when she performed. Personally, I'm kinda struck that you're trying to claim that Evgenia was more artistic than Yuna. I actually sometimes find it difficult to watch Evgenia because some of the facial expressions. Not meaning it in a hateful way, it's just.... I really am surprised that you think that.
Apple ha Actually Sasha was more artistic than Evgenia, but she was clearly least consistent due to the pressure of competing I would place Yulia Lipnitskaya in a similar position though it seems that the pressure was worse for her than it was for Sasha. - Yulia suffered from anorexia.
Oh yes, skaters like Satoko were included because they have multiple medals, succeeding in several WC and Olympics over the years. But yes I do think Shizuka, Adelina and Alina's olympic gold hold more weight in terms of medal value. If GPF and 4CC/EC were included, this list would be so different. I'm making one now 😊
the word "successful" doesn't necessarily mean fame/popularity. Rochette has more World/Olympic (individual, not team) medals - as you can see the skaters should have at least 2 of them to be in this list, she has 1 World and 1 Olympic, while Yulia has only 1 World medal, and Alina only 1 Olympic. And don't forget that popularity in figure skating, especially ladies, is quiet short, everyone knows Yulia and Alina because they're from later generation, Alina especially - she just won the Olympics! Of course right now everyone knows her. In 2010, I believe, almost everyone knew Joannie (even if she wasn't as popular as Mao and Yuna) and never heard of these 2 Russian girls
xelly violet Her non-inclusion has to go with the fact that she never win another world medal under the IJS CoP system. The description specifically stated that included here are only those who won medals within CoP.
Jericho Gamara unfortunately Sasha never won gold medals during the system and only won one Olympic silver in 2006 and one World silver in 2005. when Arakawa only got the bronze in 2005. Remember this is only reserved for those who got Multiple golds, silver and bronze in medal count and the first skater including Sasha didn’t qualify. Michelle Kwan, Katrina Witt did qualify even if Michelle Kwan never won Olympic gold, but I think Michelle Kwan won Olympic Silver, and/or Bronze.. In 2004 World, Arakawa only won one Gold , while Sasha won silver and Michelle, bronze. So Sasha only had one Olympic silver medal and two silver medals in World, but no Olympic and World Golds. So she just won only a few medals , but not much like that of Carolina, Yu na and Mao......
Jericho Gamara Arakawa never won another Gold medal at the 2005, since Mao Asada got her World gold medal with Sasha getting silver . Mao and Yuna including Carolina got more medals than do Sasha and Shizuka. And I still think that’s the statistics.

Mao Asada is my favorite, in spite of the system's and judges obvious efforts to hold her down.
who knows Joannie Rochette?
She never won gold at the World's Union World and Olympic Games
But everyone knows Lipnitskaya and Zapgitova.
the word "successful" doesn't necessarily mean fame/popularity.
Uh...pretty sure Lipnitskaya only won a “team” medal at the Olympic.....Is say Rochette has a much better singles career
Queen Yuna!!! ...but where is Zagitova?
Kaetlyn Osmond is the olympic champion. In the team event, but she is
You know what The Kwan calls this list? “Light Work”
Evgenia doesnt have a silver medal for worlds
Евгений Юртаев wasnt that the team trophy?
Евгений Юртаев im sorry, could you say that in english, german or italian? I dont know russian yet
Евгений Юртаев im sorry, but i dont know russian
Евгений Юртаев could you please say that in english, i have no idea what you are saying
Евгений Юртаев Извините, я не говорю по-русски. Пожалуйста, говорите по-английски (используемый переводчик)
Shizuka arakawa>satoko miyahara
1 olympic gold >1 world silver +bronze
For me
Shizuka also has world gold, besides olympic. She should be in this list for sure
xelly violet Her non-inclusion has to go with the fact that she never win another world medal under the IJS CoP system. The description specifically stated that included here are only those who won medals within CoP.
Jericho Gamara ok
QUEEN YUNA!!!!
