In Thrawn: Alliances he makes a remark that he knows Vader is Anakin. Originally that was where Thrawn and Ahsoka were going to meet first before they changed up the story and had it be Padme.
There is a novel, that takes place during the CWs, where Anakin and Thrawn are forced to work together. That's how he knows who Vader is. And that's also how he gained favor with Palestine.
Here is something You may have missed, Tara: that scene where Morgan "blesses" the Night Troopers. Keep in mind that, these men and women have been stranded alongside Thrawn for about a decade at this point. With no way to contact One's Friends, Family and other Loved Ones. No way to keep up with current events in the galaxy, for all They know, the Empire is still in power. No way of recieving reinforcements to replenish the losses suffered over the years. No way to repair or replace damaged, lost or broken equipment. Without a chance to re-stock on supplies with only limited reasources such as food, water, medical equipment, spare power packs for their blasters and electrizity to keep the Chimeara running. Add all this, and the obviously homesick feelings these guys and girls have for wanting to go home, combined with the extreme sense of personal loyalty towards Their Commanding Officer that develloped over the years, and this goes a long way in explaining why these people WILLINGLY gave up their only chance to go home. Now THAT is some dangerous level of cult-like devotion there!
I bought this on 4K blu-ray, and it's the only series I've bought, because the characters in this series are so diverse and awesome. Baylan Skoll stole the show every time he was on screen! I feel for Shin, at the end, too. She's all alone. It was just all too awesome!
Fun (re)watching this with you :). For me S1 _just_ delivered on enough story threads to not feel like pure setup (and of course it had episode 5, which is pretty much worth the price of admission by itself IMO) but man, i'm _so_ glad they gave it a S2 (where _surely_ we'll get Zeb - c'mon Filoni :). Lots of great stuff in this ep. Loved the continuity of lightsaber parts between Kanan and Ezra for instance and the Mortis reveal at the end * chef's kiss *. And Thrawn _must_ know right ? That final dig at Ahsoka proves it for me (trying to prey on her insecurities about what Anakin became).
I swear that scene between Ezra and Huyang could have been lifted from Doctor Who. It's the most David Tennant sounded like the 10th Doctor in all of his Star Wars appearances thus far (specifically when Huyang growls/mutters "I have a system")
I cannot wait to see Dathomir in live action for the first time in either the Mando and Grogu movie or Ahsoka Season 2. If that's where Thrawn is setting up his new base of operations, it's bound to be pretty epic.
I am predicting that the Filoniverse of Star Wars will end with Ahsoka, Sabine, Ezra, Jacen and Grogu returning to this galaxy to explore. That will explain why none of them are in the last trilogy and still allow new stories to be told with them.

Thrawn knows Anakin and knew that he was Darth Vader. It should also be mentioned that when he says "The security of our galaxy.", I think Thrawn is referring to...another threat. The very reason why he joined the Empire. I highly recommend the Thrawn trilogy (Thrawn, Thrawn: Alliances and Thrawn: Treason) and the Ascendancy trilogy as well. If you have Audible, Mark Thompson does an excellent performance as Thrawn and the other characters in the audiobooks
So the incantations that the great mother's say in this particular episode are the exact same ones spoken to Ventress by Mother Talzin In the Conor's episwhere grievous destroys Dathomir. And the same incantation used by old docca in order to resurrect the night'ssister witches in that same episode. Many of us believe that that is the exact same sword that Talzin Used against mace window in clone wars Arc with Jar Jar. And it was absolutely fantastic to see Huyang talk about Kanan. I am so stoked for the potential of season two especially with the story that it looks like we're getting

What was said by both Obi-Wan and Anakin, and after that exchange, it cut to Yoda who seemed to sense something, then said, "Hmmmm...." before a clone trooper interrupted his line of thought. That may be why Yoda assigned Ahsoka to him, to teach him about "letting go of 'things' (including people) that he was afraid to lose" (as he told Anakin in Revenge of the Sith). Obi-Wan, I'm sure, knew, because of things he said during the Clone Wars final season. Yoda, because of what I mentioned above. Mace, I think may have known because he didn't trust Anakin despite how Anakin helped him during the war. But this is what I mean when I say that, even years or even decades later, with dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of views (depending on which show/movie we are talking about), I can still connect things that I hadn't connected before.

I think Baylan is after a legend involving the Mortis Gods, he didnt care about Thrawn or Night Sisters. I am guessing they will have to recast for his role as it seems to be a big one.
One thing is sure, should the Mandalorians ever face Thrawn's Night Troopers, They had better start running as soon as the last body drops to the floor... I would also hope Old Dinny Boy has enough sense to keep Grogu away from these fights. Poor Child will have nightmares for sure! Heck, They all will...
I disagree, for me this franchise is emotional healing. 💞 Healing my IRL emotional damage. Particularly for children of alcoholic/abusive fathers who've passed away, acknowledging the bad things within them, but also knowing the good parts, your memories of them as a kid, which was the TRUE them, which you hold on to and those memories are now "One with The Force".
Overall this was a solid first season! I thought Rosario continues to do a good job as Snips, I liked the continuation of the storyline from Clone Wars/Rebels, as a Thrawn fan I loved his introduction into live action (and the fun parallels to Thrawn's Legends stories), we had a fascinating antagonist in Baylan Skoll (RIP Ray Stevenson) and I loved the blending of classic Star Wars, classic Japanese samurai movies and the works of Tolkien. Can't wait to see where the show goes with Season 2!
Another thing, I predict there are going to be some tensions between Thrawn and the Shadow Council's collection of Warlords. These, after all, are a more technocratic type of officers: following the Empire's rise, there was a strong push to reject all that mystical "nonesense" related to the Force. The Future was in technological and military might, not outdated cults and their silly religions! Anything even remotely related to the Light Side of the Force was targeted by Sidious's agents. So, when these fanatical, conservative and technocratic stratocrats will see Thrawn's new allies and His new "approach" to the supernatural, They will definitely find themselves questioning His rationale, or even His sanity, when the Great Mothers are brought before these individuals. Even someone as loyal as Captain Pellaeon, that mustached guy who advocated to be cautious, excersise restraint and to await Thrawn's return, will be wondering what all this is about!
Cant telk if you noticed by your reaction but the daughter was there. Her statue was on the other side of the father, but missing its head. Theres a whole storyline they can go on about what Balon might be looking for. Its been said before but its a terrible thing about Ray Stevens passing. Beside his death itself how they're going to do Balon's story us beyond me. Still love that he wasn't a sith, just a jedi who turned dark because of what happened at the end of the clone wars.
If you like reading Star Wars books, and enjoyed the zombie Stormtroopers, there are two that you should check out: ‘Red Harvest’, which takes place during the “Old Republic Era”, and has Jedi and Sith, with the undead. ‘Death Troopers’, and that story involves zombies and Star Wars.
I love the choreography of the fights with Morgan in this episode. Would love to see what an episode of Stuntmen React from @CorridorCrew thinks of it.
One issue that bothered me. Sabines Mandalorian armor they changed for live action. I think it looked a lot better in the animated show. I love the colors that she had. Not exactly sure why they changed it maybe to make her look more mature. But i've seen cosplayers dress up as her animated gear. And there are some really, really good ones. And it looked bad ass..... Also episode 7 and 8. They should've got the fight Choreography down better... Wasn't total garbage but it was alright just kind of took away from it.. But the show is a whole. solid nine.
About that "Long live the Empire" line Thrawn gave to Ahsoka in his farewell speech before jumping: I believe it is a form of psychological manipulation. Thrawn is a Chiss. His species hail from the Unknown Regions, a vast and unexplored area of space rife with hyperspace anomalies making traveling from point to point tricky. Thrawn only joined the Empire to protect His People, the Chiss Ascendancy from a dangerous threat. His actions are loyal towards the Empire, but his heart and soul are forever with his people. I suspect He is mearly putting up a facade of the loyal Imperial to decieve his enemies, and to a certain extent his future warlord allies, as to his true intentions. Does anyone agree?

Thrawn trolled Vader with the knowledge that he knew who he was. Vader really, really wanted to choke the life out of the Grand Admiral. But they came to an understanding. They made a pretty formidable duo when they actually worked as a team.
Vader choking Thrawn would be a sight to see 😳 but I love how he was like "I know you because I knew your master" Thrawn is ALWAYS two steps ahead, he pays attention to EVERY LITTLE THING
The Daughter was there on the other side of the Father, it's just that the head of her carving was gone, either blasted away or taken out by a quake or something. There are 2 steps in that line that you forgot to mention... but then again a lot of people don't make that connection... It doesn't start with Qui-gon, it goes from Yoda - Dooku - Qui-gon - Obi-wan - Anakin - Ahsoka - Sabine. Realistically, Sabine is the 7th generation of that line. Make of that what you will lol.

Sabine is primarily from the Skywalker line of training, but with a bit of influence from the Jarrus-Bridger line since she did do some training with them. But also, she is from Clan Vizla, a descended relative of Tar Vizla, the only other Mandalorian Jedi.
I was going to say 'Unfortunately there won't be a season 2' but now on IMDB a season 2 is announced... YAY! I was so sure this was like 1 season like the Book of Boba Fett.. either I dreamt that or it was renewed another season after they saw how much people liked s1 :) Anyways it makes me happy!

They really change the way you see his character and you'll respect him (and possibly even want to root for him from time to time) whenever you go back and watch Rebels. Really worth reading in my opinion :)

It was He who created the charecter back in 1994, as the Antagonist in the, now Leggends material, "Heir to the Empire" books. This brought back attention to the franchise as a whole, with the massive success convincing George Lucas to start working on the Prequel Trilogy.

I have not watched It so i dont know if It was given a proper finale or It was just cancelled after season 2. Since you've been watching all Star Wars in chronological order, i'd recomend you to see It on your free time alongside the secuels. I doubt It would make It on TH-cam, but It Is Star Wars after all.
to me this is the best out of what they have done outside of any George Lucas approved projects, they fumbled on the last 3 episodes a bit which was unfortunate and Hayden at the end there was great , overall good show but not great, almost great- they need a really great season 2 to make this one of their best series

I love how many of our heroes have been run through with light sabers and they're perfectly fine. Morgan Elsbeth, with all her Dathomir Magic, gets sliced (lightly even) across the belly and drops dead instantly. Disney, Kathleen Kennedy and the whole lot of them are doing their best to destroy "Star Wars" and all its lore. Also, lets talk about Sabine. She risked everything to reach Ezra and now Thrawn and three Night Sisters have returned. Sabine may now be responsible for the deaths of trillions. Certainly worth it to get her friend back. 🙄
She was not "sliced lightly" across the belly, they were deeper than that. How long it took Baylon to destroy the map using his lightsaber showed us that Sabine was not going to be able to destroy it with just her blaster even if she wanted to. Laying the blame of his return on Sabine is disingenuous. The rest of your post just shows that you're really here to shit on other people's enjoyment of something you don't like.
Ezra carrying on Kanan's legacy using the same emitter as him. 🥲 "He always stood by me...even when no-one else would", man, they really have to hit me in the feels like that? That was a clear reference to the end of S5 of TCW in that arc where Ahsoka was being hunted for something she didn't do. 😭😭 Ahsoka probably does regret not being more happy with seeing Anakin again in S7 of TCW. :( Thrawn definitely knew Vader was Anakin. 12:18 almost sounded like a bit of the Across The Stars theme. They really left us on a cliffhanger with them being stuck, and then Anakin appears again. 😭😭 I think Anakin is actually the Father now. He seems to have complete control over his emotions, and is now fully on the good side and can effortlessly manifest himself as a force ghost, and pull Ahsoka into the WBW to continue her teaching.

Ever since the sisters life was transferred to Ashoka that bird followed her. And yes her statue was gone:)

I disagree, for me this franchise is emotional healing. 💞 Healing my IRL emotional damage.
Particularly for children of alcoholic/abusive fathers who've passed away, acknowledging the bad things within them, but also knowing the good parts, your memories of them as a kid, which was the TRUE them, which you hold on to and those memories are now "One with The Force".
Overall this was a solid first season! I thought Rosario continues to do a good job as Snips, I liked the continuation of the storyline from Clone Wars/Rebels, as a Thrawn fan I loved his introduction into live action (and the fun parallels to Thrawn's Legends stories), we had a fascinating antagonist in Baylan Skoll (RIP Ray Stevenson) and I loved the blending of classic Star Wars, classic Japanese samurai movies and the works of Tolkien. Can't wait to see where the show goes with Season 2!

Another thing, I predict there are going to be some tensions between Thrawn and the Shadow Council's collection of Warlords. These, after all, are a more technocratic type of officers: following the Empire's rise, there was a strong push to reject all that mystical "nonesense" related to the Force. The Future was in technological and military might, not outdated cults and their silly religions! Anything even remotely related to the Light Side of the Force was targeted by Sidious's agents.
So, when these fanatical, conservative and technocratic stratocrats will see Thrawn's new allies and His new "approach" to the supernatural, They will definitely find themselves questioning His rationale, or even His sanity, when the Great Mothers are brought before these individuals. Even someone as loyal as Captain Pellaeon, that mustached guy who advocated to be cautious, excersise restraint and to await Thrawn's return, will be wondering what all this is about!

Her statue was on the other side of the father, but missing its head. Theres a whole storyline they can go on about what Balon might be looking for.
Its been said before but its a terrible thing about Ray Stevens passing. Beside his death itself how they're going to do Balon's story us beyond me.
Still love that he wasn't a sith, just a jedi who turned dark because of what happened at the end of the clone wars.
They've already announced they're re-casting.
If you like reading Star Wars books, and enjoyed the zombie Stormtroopers, there are two that you should check out:
‘Red Harvest’, which takes place during the “Old Republic Era”, and has Jedi and Sith, with the undead.
‘Death Troopers’, and that story involves zombies and Star Wars.
I love the choreography of the fights with Morgan in this episode. Would love to see what an episode of Stuntmen React from @CorridorCrew thinks of it.

One issue that bothered me. Sabines Mandalorian armor they changed for live action. I think it looked a lot better in the animated show. I love the colors that she had. Not exactly sure why they changed it maybe to make her look more mature. But i've seen cosplayers dress up as her animated gear. And there are some really, really good ones.
And it looked bad ass..... Also episode 7 and 8. They should've got the fight Choreography down better... Wasn't total garbage but it was alright just kind of took away from it.. But the show is a whole. solid nine.
About that "Long live the Empire" line Thrawn gave to Ahsoka in his farewell speech before jumping: I believe it is a form of psychological manipulation.
Thrawn is a Chiss. His species hail from the Unknown Regions, a vast and unexplored area of space rife with hyperspace anomalies making traveling from point to point tricky. Thrawn only joined the Empire to protect His People, the Chiss Ascendancy from a dangerous threat.
His actions are loyal towards the Empire, but his heart and soul are forever with his people.
I suspect He is mearly putting up a facade of the loyal Imperial to decieve his enemies, and to a certain extent his future warlord allies, as to his true intentions.

I agree. He's way too smart and calculating. His dedication to the Empire has always felt so off to me. He's got an ulterior motive.

Thrawn trolled Vader with the knowledge that he knew who he was. Vader really, really wanted to choke the life out of the Grand Admiral. But they came to an understanding. They made a pretty formidable duo when they actually worked as a team.
Vader choking Thrawn would be a sight to see 😳 but I love how he was like "I know you because I knew your master" Thrawn is ALWAYS two steps ahead, he pays attention to EVERY LITTLE THING

The Daughter was there on the other side of the Father, it's just that the head of her carving was gone, either blasted away or taken out by a quake or something. There are 2 steps in that line that you forgot to mention... but then again a lot of people don't make that connection... It doesn't start with Qui-gon, it goes from Yoda - Dooku - Qui-gon - Obi-wan - Anakin - Ahsoka - Sabine. Realistically, Sabine is the 7th generation of that line. Make of that what you will lol.

Sabine is primarily from the Skywalker line of training, but with a bit of influence from the Jarrus-Bridger line since she did do some training with them. But also, she is from Clan Vizla, a descended relative of Tar Vizla, the only other Mandalorian Jedi.
I was going to say 'Unfortunately there won't be a season 2' but now on IMDB a season 2 is announced... YAY! I was so sure this was like 1 season like the Book of Boba Fett.. either I dreamt that or it was renewed another season after they saw how much people liked s1 :) Anyways it makes me happy!

@@thatnerdtara You definitely should. Those 3 books are the reason Thrawn is my second favorite Star Wars character. They really change the way you see his character and you'll respect him (and possibly even want to root for him from time to time) whenever you go back and watch Rebels. Really worth reading in my opinion :)

It was He who created the charecter back in 1994, as the Antagonist in the, now Leggends material, "Heir to the Empire" books. This brought back attention to the franchise as a whole, with the massive success convincing George Lucas to start working on the Prequel Trilogy.

I have not watched It so i dont know if It was given a proper finale or It was just cancelled after season 2. Since you've been watching all Star Wars in chronological order, i'd recomend you to see It on your free time alongside the secuels. I doubt It would make It on TH-cam, but It Is Star Wars after all.
to me this is the best out of what they have done outside of any George Lucas approved projects, they fumbled on the last 3 episodes a bit which was unfortunate and Hayden at the end there was great , overall good show but not great, almost great- they need a really great season 2 to make this one of their best series

I love how many of our heroes have been run through with light sabers and they're perfectly fine. Morgan Elsbeth, with all her Dathomir Magic, gets sliced (lightly even) across the belly and drops dead instantly. Disney, Kathleen Kennedy and the whole lot of them are doing their best to destroy "Star Wars" and all its lore. Also, lets talk about Sabine. She risked everything to reach Ezra and now Thrawn and three Night Sisters have returned. Sabine may now be responsible for the deaths of trillions. Certainly worth it to get her friend back. 🙄
She was not "sliced lightly" across the belly, they were deeper than that. How long it took Baylon to destroy the map using his lightsaber showed us that Sabine was not going to be able to destroy it with just her blaster even if she wanted to. Laying the blame of his return on Sabine is disingenuous. The rest of your post just shows that you're really here to shit on other people's enjoyment of something you don't like.

I think Anakin is actually the Father now. He seems to have complete control over his emotions, and is now fully on the good side and can effortlessly manifest himself as a force ghost, and pull Ahsoka into the WBW to continue her teaching.
Maybe Ahsoka is on her way to becoming "The Daughter" ... 🤔
