- Bridgerton season 3 is soon out, and the trailer has made us even hungrier for more, to not starve ourselves we’ve broken down the insane work behind Bridgertons queen charlottes wigs, to feed our appetite. We’ve been hearing speculations about a potential Bridgerton Queen Charlotte season 2..Hopefully we’ll get it

I’m glad they increased the budget for her hair as the show would not have been the same without these wigs.. please make haste netflix with s3
😭😭😭
I love how the Bridgerton series add so many easter eggs in all the details. The hair, the dresses, the make up? It is lovely to get some insight on their process behind it all
Sameee
@@sarahthomas8670 Ugh I cant bare to wait more!!! Haha I keep replaying the trailer and sneak peaks
the hairstyle is actually called "pouf aux sentiment", and popularized by Marie Antoinette & Rose Bertin, was basically the 18th century OOTD but with feelings/meanings as denoted by the accessories one can include in the wig
for instance, on one occasion Marie Antoinette wore a pouf symbolizing celebrating as well as promoting vaccination in honor of her children being inoculated against smallpox
⁰⁰0⁰@@sarahthomas8670
They should open a wig museum for sure. I would go.
They couldn’t have chosen a better person to play Queen Charlotte. I think she is the most beautiful person , best personality for the part… I love this actress….
I think she’s the PERFECT older queen and the woman who plays the younger queen is the PERFECT younger queen. They behave like the same person in character just one that’s more poised and seasoned vs one that has yet to learn anything about society and royalty. They are amazing actresses
I absolutely love that they made her wigs look like afro textured hair styled like that instead of a non textured hair.
Also, my favourite scene of all of the Bridgerton universe so far was the last scene of Queen Charlotte when she went to go see George and announce the pregnancy. Made me cry so much
It’s lovely indeed😌💖
@@boppingyt I can’t wait to see her hair in this new season
THANK YOU FOR SAYING AFRO-TEXTURE. SOUNDS MUCH BETTER AS A AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN, WE ALL VERY SEEN.
@@LYNNDANIELS-ki4cj thats why I said it that way. “Black hair” refers to the colour of the hair, afro is usually meaning the hairstyle. I try to be as knowledgeable as I can about the things I talk about.
Really? Well, here is a novel idea. Don't cast black faces to play white queens. And you don't need fantasy wigs to look like black racial hair.
Let's paint it black was a song in the '60's and it's time we bury it.
The entire costume department of that show deserves a RAISE!!!
Her wigs make me so happy😭😭😭
Right?💖🫶
@@boppingyt I am inspired to make them now. Is this gonna be a copyright issue?
@@suzygirl1843 Unfortunately, fashion can’t be patented because there is nothing new under the sun.
The moving swans could be the same mechanics as a jewelry box with a spinning ballerina….. no batteries needed
Golda said she wore a battery pack with this wig.
Thanks for telling me. Would still be good reasoning to make the stories timeline work.
Came here to say this. No matter how it was done for the show, at the time it could have been done with a clockwork/wind-up mechanism
When an architect goes to cosmetology school:
you meant cosmetology
@@user-ix1rp9ff3p Ah yes. Autocorrect is the bane of my online existence. Thanks.
@@scarlett6015 can relate
Wow this made me appreciate the show even more! Had no idea about this.
Her wigs are pure art, bravo
I just rewatched "Queen Charlotte" and honestly, it's the BEST season of Bridgerton, even if officially it isn't actually. Fans of the series will agree.
Agree!!
I loved it! It is my favorite so far. I have to admit I cried through most of it because they showed the love between Charlotte and George in such a beautiful way❤
@@elisaesskew6954mannn I ugly cried through many parts as well, it was executed so so well I loved it 😭
Love the idea of a wig museum, this episode was so educational explaining the amount of work that goes into creating these masterpieces. Amazing!!
Thank you!💖 Imagine a whole Bridgerton museum with all the wigs and their thousands of costumes😍
Golda OWNS these incredible looks. An absolutely iconic combination of actress and wardrobe/hair.
11:27 They didn't have batteries in Regency era, but they did have wind-up mechanisms for clocks, music boxes, etc. Let's just assume there's a wind-up dial hidden in the wig somewhere.
Golda said she wore a battery pack with this wig.
@@happydaze7976 I'm talking about in-universe. That's like saying lightsabers are really just sticks. Believe the magic, people! Maybe it's Brimsley's job to wind it back up every half hour or so.
They look amazing. I hope the team win awards for their hard work and outstanding design.
I've always been fascinated by the queen's hair styles. Clockwork is a good answer as to how they could make the things inside move.
She really carries it off well. I wouldn’t have been able to move with that on top of my head. 😂😂
These wigs are absolutely exquisite 🩷
So precious💎
The costumes were simply beautiful. The hair designs beautifully done.❤❤❤
Young and old version of queen is the best. They really look like one person.
Marc was sooooo gifted. What an artist ❤
Yes!! 🙌🏾 We DEFINITELY need a wig museum for Queen Charlotte. Maybe the whole cast! 🤩
The hairstyles were on point! And the stylists were all very talented to create such works of art❤❤.
HOW did i miss these details??! I'm going to pay attention to her wigs now I was wondering if her swan wig had any secret meanings in the promo thank you for clearing this up
Well, the Queen has definitely inspired me in so many ways! I’m entranced by these wigs!! ❤
I love the details!
I would just love a guide picture book that goes through each dress and wig
I have been waiting for this gem of the background behind the making of the wigs worn by Queen Charlotte. I can see that there is so much research gone to create these masterpieces. Fabulous!!
I just finished watching season 3 and saw the wig with the moving swans and couldn't believe it. I love her wigs.
The wig with the swans legit took my breath away it was so beautiful and elaborate, definitely a work of art ❤️
There should be a museum for the clothes and wigs of the whole cast!
Those wigs must be on display. They take an enormous part of the show. They better pay queen Charlotte really good. She is in my opinion the reason I see the show
All actors are overpaid.
@@tessdurberville711you do realise that being an actor is freelance right?
People saying the wig is battery operated- obviously its clockwork? It's p common form of clockwork
Season 3 wigs were amazing!!! Those swans 🤯
I'm expecting a blooper with Gollda opening her wig and pulling out champagne and a glass
I love how you never know what to expect with Queen Charlottes wigs. I love the fact that they are sometimes very over the top traditional forms and other times they take on more natural black hair texture and styles. Never dissappoints!
That era had clockwork moving automation. It was magical to the gentry, so why wouldn’t the upper class use that as part of their fashion?
Anyone with African roots can have a kinky or curly hair texture. So the correct term to use is “Afro textured hair”, not black hair. Just like how we have Afro Latino people. They may not be directly black, but they have those black roots. They can also have kinky or curly hair. Would we say that they have a “black hair”? No, it’s Afro textured hair. In the future, you may want to use the proper verbiage ☺️ Other than that, I enjoyed the video!
I will now jump on my soapbox with a dissertation regarding everyone with red hair genes........on second thought, how pretentious and boring would that be.🥱
You realize there are Africans of every shade who don't have the kinky hair? I mean the racism to sit here and say that ALL Africans and only Africans have kinky hair is just beyond. Wow have people gotten dumb.
I have been WAITING for this!!!!! FINALLY!!!!❤❤❤
I'm so intrigued and inspired by all the thought, time and passion that goes into one's specific craft. I love learning just what it takes to go above and beyond to create or do something that many people won't ever take the time to really appreciate. I'm not even specific on what it is. From wig craft, costume or set design for movies to foods and different structures from all over the world. People are so immensly talented and their devotion and efforts need to be showcased and applauded. ❤
I think the queens hair in season with the moving swans would be similar to a music box. No batteries needed. Just a wind up from Mr. Brimsley lol
Yes, that Afro wig was beautiful ❤❤
This was such a great video. I hope they do create a museum for her wigs!
I LIVE to see Queen Charlottes wigs! Sooo Fab, yass!! But I never get the Easter egg hints.
I've been wanting to make a Qn Charlotte wig. This was so fun! Thanks 🎉
I love Golda. I hope she gets to keep her faves.
They pay so much attention to every detail, it's sometimes startling.
Those wig artists do amazing work! And Charlotte's swan wig could have been possible (if not plausible) in the regency era by being clockwork instead of battery operated in the regency era. Automata like Maillardet's Draftsman were marvels of the era. Yes, it would need to be wound up, but there's plenty of room in that wig and it's still stunning even if they aren't moving all the time.
The *LEWWWWKSSSS* and engineering of it all ❤❤
Those wigs on that show (Queen Charlotte) was everything. Absolutely gorgeous.
Bridgerton is how those people would’ve dressed if they’d had modern fabrics and battery gizmos. Over the top was normal.
Hair is always eye-catching one.❤❤
Actually, clockwork automata figures and music boxes were being built at this time and could be quite elaborate. I could see a clockwork being designed to make the birds move, so not entirely unrealistic.
QUEEN Charlotte's wigs need need their own story line. Love that texture was involved in the younger Queen's wigs.
Could be clockwork instead of battery powered swans that require winding to work. There were such automatons at the time. They didn't live in the stone age.
Just when I was thinking they deserve to be in a museum I heard one was in Kew Palace which is lovely! 💖
Absolutely outstanding.
I support the idea of a wig museum pls
Love the series and Love the wigs!!!
wigs fitting inside the carriage - historically the women didn't care, and satirical drawings from the period indicate the height meant women's heads were poking outside the windows
I can't wait for the new Season 👸🏼
I’m a true believer in us all being eternal and I have no doubt Mark is helping to inspire designs now. The lovely thing about this all that incredible creativity will live on in the series too. I’m sure people will appreciate it for maybe as long as Jane Austen is. 💖
Golda Rasheuvel IS the queen!
I was told by my children that I resemble Golda so much what a blessing 🙌🏽 🙏🏽
Best wigs I've seen since The Duchess.
Godspeed to any and all cosplayers who attempt these wigs!!!**salutes**
Her poor neck!💜
The birds movement could have been done with a wind up clock work system.
I needed another season….series.
Muy hermosa la reina golda rosheuvel de la serie bridgerton 👑
The swans would not have been battery operated, but wind-up like music boxes.
Beautiful wigs
Soo cool! 😎
Yesss😍💖💖
I watched Bridgerton when I had Netflix but I didn’t know that there was a spinoff😮 I want to learn more😊
Lucky you!🍀 Then you’ll have something to look forward too🌷
It’s called ”Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story”💖 It’s amazing
Not battery operated hair, a wound mechanical clock work hidden under the crystal swans, like a wind up music box.
They didn't need batteries, they could have used a cog and wined system like a jewelry box
Rick Racking ? Looks like a straw set to me
I wish they would sell the wigs !
Its not battery but music box wind up...she has staff she can have someone rewind it alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll night if she wants *SHE IS THE QUEEN*
Note - actual 18th century ladies didn’t wear wigs. They put it up every morning. This tall hair was over by the late 1770’s. This is drama, and fabulous! But not historic.
The 1770's are the 18th c.
😍😍😍
I just realised how ridiculous and unnecessary the hair is
😂😂 yes Bridgerton do be extra✨ but we love it that way🤭
It's a a full lace wig or lace frontal
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
never seen the show, dont care. but as a huge drag queen fan, this is super illuminating!
Queen mother ...
Are the wigs made of human or synthetic hair ?
The hair is powered by a turn key, like a music box…duh 😂😂
If you have to explain it it probably didn't hit, knowing these little tidbits is cool
Minuto 2:23
Las pelucas no deben ser tan grandes que NO quepan en el carruaje
They can tell a story without being ridiculous.
Just one question, did ladies of regency era, actually wear such wigs, I mean though beautiful, why do we not try to get more realistic towards this.
Honey, big Afros, natural or wigs, blonde, brunette, etc.,have been worn since long before Beyoncé or Austin Powers.
Its astounding that so much time and effort was put into Queen Charlotte's hair, yet young King George walked around without a wig. That was unheard of for nobility. It's just so off-putting. As for the wig with moving parts, there were artisans in the 18th century who made automatons. So, it could be explained that the swans are moving thanks to a wound-up automaton device.
Come on now. These wigs are regency ghetto.😂 😂😢
why so high on the head?
ask Marie Antoinette (Charlotte's RL pen pal) as well as Rose Bertin, since they were the ones who invented and popularized the pouf (specifically "pouf aux sentiment") hairstyle
The higher the hair, the closer to god
@@Greatful0374
not really, much more "the higher the hair, the more you show how powerful/rich you are"
and of course none dared upstage the Marie Antoinette, in spite of being ridiculed as "l'Autrichienne"
@@user-ix1rp9ff3p Relax it’s a joke. Of high hair shows higher aristocratic hierarchy.
So they took absolutely no historical facts from the real Queen Charlotte afro but found inspiration in Bey Austin Powers afro and fictional stories, okay. 😮
Because Queen Charlotte was white so she didn't have the same type of hair and so the made changes accordingly
@@dotty3825 You must read. Queen Charlotte was never white, the actor from Bridgerton is the only true figure to historical facts.
@@dotty3825 She was believed to be biracial.
Though she was born in Germany, the daughter of a Duke, Queen Charlotte was directly descended from Margarita de Castro y Sousa, which was the Black branch of the Portuguese Royal House
@@Greatful0374 Yes, she had some blood that could influence her looks but we have many accounts about her and her parents and grandparents, all painted and described as white Europeans. She may be biracial but it is a small precent of her ancestry and you should read more if you think that biracial equals not white. She had European looks and black Portuguese ancestors and nothing is wrong with that as long as people don't try to falsify history and paint her as someone she wasn't. Bridgertons is not the series I would look for historical accuracy and they make it obvious that they don't try to be accurate, they create it based on regency era fashion and modern fashion and art combined to create something different from any other series we've ever seen.
@@dotty3825 The one drop was even more prevalent then. Don’t white wash history. Just look at the artifacts (portraits painted pictures) now, Charlotte is clearly had African features with pale yellow undertone skin.
Ridiculous.
Now I understand why the Afro styles don’t look as good. And they shouldn’t be willing to harm her for these wigs. But I guess they don’t care
Why is the actress black?
Because this show is nothing but a woke, fictional, fantasy. Nothing true about it.
