  • The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol is a network management protocol used on Internet Protocol networks for automatically assigning IP addresses and other communication parameters to devices connected to the network using a client-server architecture.
A wireless LAN controller is used in combination with the Lightweight Access Point Protocol to manage light-weight access points in large quantities by the network administrator or network operations center. The wireless LAN controller is part of the Data Plane within the Cisco Wireless Model.
In computer networking, a wireless access point, or more generally just access point, is a networking hardware device that allows other Wi-Fi devices to connect to a wired network.
A virtual LAN is any broadcast domain that is partitioned and isolated in a computer network at the data link layer. LAN is the abbreviation for local area network and in this context virtual refers to a physical object recreated and altered by additional logic.

Thank you for this wonderful and enlightening video. I have learned more in your 30-minute video than from an entire 5 days of networking training. So thank you. However, I have one observation from the exercise; I noticed that after connecting Laptops through the access point, the access points don't broadcast the IP addresses from the DHCP server. It gives the laptops different IP addresses. And noticed you had the same IP addresses when you hovered over the laptop exactly at minute thirty-one fifty-six seconds at @31:56. Could you please advice on how to fix it? Thank you once again

So, did you try it the same in your own and had the mentioned issues? I noticed the ip address that you said, wow eagle-eyes! So lemme see if I still have the file to check it.
But in general, Packet Tracer is a software with many limitations, sometimes, things from real world don’t work here.

Hi Amin, I have a question.
You have configured the interfaces of the floor switches that are connected to the APs in access mode. Since several WLANs are configured in the APs (to which different VLANs are associated), would it not be necessary to configure the link between the switch and the AP as a trunk?

    • @aminsedighfar

@@aleemohoo4958 So the concept is a little different in Wi-Fi. In wired networks you can have different VLANs on a cable, however, basically in Wi-Fi for each SSID you should come up with one VLAN. But there's a solution for what you have asked: Dynamic VLAN Assignment. In order for that to happen you do need a RADIUS server, then firstly you set different usernames and passwords, secondly assign each username to a specific VALN( all have to be done on the RADIUS server), finally sending them towards your SSID. In this way, based on the username and password that each user will insert, the RADIUS server will do all of the tasks afterwards and users are to have IP addresses in the proper VLAN IP range.
