As an experienced diver in the Philippines I commend you Rubeauti on your list of potentially dangerous and deadly sea creatures.
No one should fear diving or snorkeling in Philippines. It's important to be aware of your surroundings and NEVER EVER reach your hands into coral crevices or the like. Also wear high quality booties and full body covering. A light weight full body suit will give protection from sun and rash even Boxjellyfish.

This is a very informative video and very accurate. I would only add two things: placing a jellyfish sting in nonscalding hot water for 20-30 min will neutralize the venom and lessen the pain. Also, washing a dog bite is important. Rabies shot must be taken after the bite before signs of rabies appear. Once the victim shows signs, it is too late for treatment and fatality rate is high at this point.
Keep up the good work. You were right about peeing--pee is mostly water so it causes more stinging to occur. Vinegar or sea water can be used to wash off the tentacles but NEVER use pee or fresh water!

I had a run in with a mosquito there in 1974. Spent the better part of Nov and Dec hospitalized. Then, the last couple of weeks of Jan ‘75 hospitalized. I still get a reminder of that malaria a couple times a year. Seems like a lot of cobras in Bohol.

Very informative video. I'm always worried about all the stray dogs and think the Philippines should do a concentrated effort to have these dogs spayed or neutered. As far as the creatures in the sea that could kill you, very scary I think being aware is quite helpful. As far as mosquitoes I was told that most of the Philippines is malaria free, but I could imagine and more of your rural areas where there tends to be standing water everywhere, we could have problems. Very informative video and I do hope the Philippines does what they can to control the dog population. There are things they can do that would help greatly.

I was in The Philippines 🇵🇭 in December 2022. I agree 👍 on this list.
My comments. 1 Dogs 🐕 are more of a problem in the rural areas: citizens do not sterilize them nor do they care for them.as much as the city dwelling citizens do. 2 Mosquitoes 🦟 are everywhere 😑 Do get the repellent and net. Having pet birds 🐦, frogs 🐸 help. 3 Snakes 🐍 Not in video. Other venomous snakes in The Philippines 🇵🇭 are vipers, green snakes and Pacific brown snakes. I walked in a farm 🚜, and the farmers warned me about snakes 🐍The farm animals such as the chickens 🐔, goats 🐐 and cows 🐄 walked 🚶‍♂️in certain areas. I followed them. Because their senses (hearing 👂 and smell 👃) are better than my human senses, the animals can warn me of any dangerous animals.

Good advice throughout. There was a dog some years ago who thought it smart to meet me on a hiking trail near my house. I'm always armed. He didn't realize that until a quick three round burst changed his mind. Always be prepared. It would make sense to put those dogs down somehow and lower the risk.

Interesting video - perhaps a little alarmist but can't dispute the facts 😁
    1. Pretty sure I've encountered this fish diving but no attacks to date. (So many parrotfish - in your video and similar? - in Maldives diving there).
    2. Sea snakes are generally naturally inquisitive but not aggressive. Their venom can be fatal but they cannot bite you except where skin is very narrow (eg. between fingers).
    3. Octopus - just a cute little guy, no?
    4. Jellyfish - plenty of jelly fish at times in Thailand and Philippines but I guess not usually fatal - just temporary discomfort?
    5. Cobra - this one scares me personally but unlikely to come across him in daily life outside unless close to the jungle?
    6. Mosquitoes - yes this is the big killer worldwide ... malaria, dengue fever etc.
    7. Dogs - as a dog-lover I think of unprovoked attacks as unusual. But no doubt possible. Good news is you can treat bites immediately (if facilities nearby) and get the shots for rabies if you believe advisable or necessary. Generally preferable not to bother with the vaccine and just treat if bitten - if facility nearby?
But after discussing all these all you suffered was a cough so can't be too bad? 😂
(BTW you should check out my super-brief video from couple of days ago "Raccoons of RY" for some really dangerous North American creatures next to my house as I arrived home two nights ago ... but only really dangerous if they have rabies which they can carry just like your dogs).

I used to think the millipedes we had were just cute worms until one day I put my shoe on that had a millipede in it. The skin on my ankle became very sore and blistered for many days. I did not know these innocent looking millipedes had hydrochloric acid and hydrogen cyanide in them to keep predators away. Another time while swimming I stepped on a sea urchin which was very painful. The Filipinos told me to pee on the place where I got stung to help take the pain away. Now I always wear swim sandals in the water.

I enjoyed your video and found it very informative. I am an entomologist who studies social wasps, and I knew there are four species of hornets in the Philippines. How much of a danger do they typically present? There are also a few other kinds of social wasps (that is, they live in colonies).

Hello Rubeauti, you are a really, really good teacher/informant. Your topics are always interesting. You look relaxed on camera and your voice is very pleasant to listen to.
Despite all my praise, I´m surprised that you forget to mention the most dangerous creature (well known for you) we western men can and probably will let come very, very close to us...
    😂🤣❤

I agree with your number one pick. The thing is that dogs run the streets at night. An when more then 70% of the vehicles on the road are riding on two wheels. It can be very dangerous. I was in the ER a couple months ago. On the wall they had 4 posters about rabies. I think a rabies shot is a answer. but it’s not the solution. I think the solution is to get all stray dog off the street without harming them. I think this could be done with using very little money from the government.

Really nice work! Something needs to be done about those dogs. I guess areas like BGC keeps them out.

The Javan krait - related to the krait you describe - is THE most venomous snake known. There is no antivenin for that species.

Wow! makes me glad I grew up in a country with no lethal animals, fish and insects! Such a shame about the dogs, they are so friendly by nature and a huge help to millions of humans. Sterilising male dogs is a really quick and simple operation too. If people got their dogs spayed as soon as they can, the stray population would quickly drop. Thank you for the warnings lovely Rubeauti, the thumbnail for this video is sensational! You look very dangerous too! 😃❤😘

Thank you for being there. I am almost ready to attempt to look for a Fillipina women! However, she must be around 40 to 50 years of age. I might look into Christan Fillipina app.

I am amazed the Philippines allows stray dogs because of the health risk. Do Filipinos see some benefit to having stray dogs?
