    There are so many island getaways in Panama, we feel like we've just gotten started. Are there any other must-see island getaways that you'd suggest for us to see? Let us know your favorites and why!

    In 1981 I spent three years in Panama with the 508th Airborne. Toboga Island was our escape from the city. It was a small fishing village then. We slept on the beach, fished and drink Balboa Beer. We loved it there and the ferry cost $1 back then. Yes I’d love to go back one more time.

      Wow! That’s amazing its been an escape like that for so many over the years! Gotta love Balboa! 🙌🇵🇦

    Did you try the beach around the point on the OTHER side of the dock? You guys bring so much joy to your videos…thanks for all you do. HA…I wrote that while watching the video and am glad you got to the other side.

    Lots of islands to visit in Panama. Remember there is a 19 foot tide, that sandy strip gets submerged with high tide. The weather and scenery are always changing!

    • @KyleJess
      @KyleJess  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah that's good to know, thanks for the insight Diane! Thankfully we were there at just the right time to have that beach clean and clear of the tide. The weather is constantaly changing in Panama, we have noticed that ourselves. That's why we decided to just roll those dice despite the clouds, hope for the best and go! Thankfully it was a pretty clear day for us for the most part and didn't get any rain until the ferry ride back to the city.

    I enjoyed your visit to Toboga Island. It brought back many fond memories of my 2 years of military service in Panama. My station was at Quarry Heights, CZ which was on Ancon Hill. We used to take a Navy launch to Tobaga Island where I learned to scuba dive. Great times. The tides were enormous there. The sand bar that connects both the islands would be completely covered during high tides.
    Much has changed from '67-'69 the number of high rises in Panama City is amazing. I don't think that there was any buildings that were more than 5 stores, even Gorgas hospital. Thanks for the memories!

      Mmmm thanks for clarifying that for us! It was definitely a delicious way to end the day at Taboga! More raspao's are certainly in our future 😋

    Awesome video! Thank you for showing both options for beach and their upsides/downsides. I’m going next with with my family and I think the quieter beach with soft sand will definitely be our pick.

      Ah thanks! In the water, we use a GoPro Hero 8. Out of the water, we use a Canon m50, with a diety D4 duo microphone. GoPro sound quality is fine, until it gets wet, then it’s shot haha. So we try to keep it above water until we’re done talking. Glad you’re enjoying the videos! Taboga Island is definitely worth a visit! 🇵🇦🏝️🙌

      @@KyleJess I have a Sony GoPro and its xxxx ! MY kodak AZ 528 is far superior, I had a Canon ES80 and that was awful.

      @KyleJess  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidsheriff8989 The Diety d4 duo is a decent mic, has 2 mics built in actually, one forward facing and one facing back. Great price too! So if you're looking for something affordable to improve the sound quality, we'd definitely recommend. Link in the description of our videos if you're interested in checking it out!

      Amador Causeway is an amazing place to spend the day and don’t have to go as far as Taboga to enjoy a good day out that’s for sure! We loved the ferry ride out there though and the quieter feel the island offered, but can’t go wrong with either! 🙂🙌🇵🇦

    Taboga is known as "La Isla de Las Flores". If you wanted a good work out you should have walked up to the top of the hill on Taboga Island where the Cross is located (a former bunker built by the US Army to protect the Panama Canal during WW1). Kyle is friggen' HILARIOUS with his lil' jokes: "It's deep...that's what she said"! bwahahahaha wooooo-hooooooo 🤣😆🤣😆

      Haha glad you're enjoying our videos there Glenn! We definitely have a fun time when we're out and about and just try to capture some of that along the way 🙂
      We also really appreciate the suggestions you've made, we'll have to check out that hike up the hill if and when we make it back out there again!

    Taboga island more knows as the flower island great place best to go at the dry season must of the time sunny days regardless raining at the city taboga is sunny the strip of sand yes at higher ride get cover but that is the beauty of that part of the island water it is mire BEUTYFULL at that spot were you c all this vendor's it was a big hotel back on the days you stay there for the whole weekend it is Beutyfull to get to the beach at 6 or 7 am for that you must stay at one of the hotels or rental places there you need to walk to the town and get fresh made bread delicious check the historic monuments and go up to the top where the cross. And get pinaples at the island that grow there the little island next to the strip we camping there when we was staying for few days nice mornings and when the strip was cover we swim to shore from there and returned when the road opens again

    • @KyleJess

    Yeah agreed, best part of Panama City is someplace else. Was just there for a couple of weeks. Yeah. They claim great beaches, just not the rocky trash lined beach along the west side of PCty and continuing north, noooo you only need to drive two hours to the other ocean. But I could be in a different country in those two hours I said. So I did.

    Where did you buy the ticket

    • @KyleJess
      @KyleJess  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you get there, you can buy them before boarding. We'd just suggest arriving maybe 20-30 minutes beforehand, so you are guaranteed a ticket/spot. 🙂

    Is it true that the island stinks and smells?

    • @KyleJess
      @KyleJess  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, we didn’t notice any smell when we went there. It may be determined by the season when the seaweed is bad or not 🤷‍♂️. But we didn’t notice any smell when we went there

    The rooftops suck…they have great views but they are insufferable. The music is achingly loud and many times you run into pretentious people who somehow think they are in Miami.
