Dre is a solid dude, bought my RHD from him back in November. Super informative, super communicative, and overall awesome dude. Visited his new shop two months ago and the cars there are legit. Recommend him anyday.
As a supra owner, it's not really a numbers thing for me. I just prefer a lhd car in the states and it's just the version of the supra we all wanted over here, especially when that's all you knew growing up in the states. The jdm rhd coming in made them a little more affordable compared to the lhd cars so I do think there's a place for them. I'll add that I never obsessed over a car just for the fact of it being rhd. If they made a lhd chaser I'd own that over my rhd car since our country is based around lhd and that's the more comfortable driving position for me.
I believe there are 5x as many RHD MKIV Supras than LHD ones. Only 11,000 USDM MKIV Supras total and I think there were like 50,000 RHD ones. Thats why our LHD ones are the most expensive, the low numbers.
1200/mo on a 10yr loan (for this GTR example) is handing the bank $800/mo in interest for the first 2yrs. This is absolutely horrible advice for someone that is not in the position to put down a LARGE down-payment. The kind of down-payment that could buy you an R35 with cash. Please don't do yourself like this
I tell younger guys (under 30 years old) all the time to buy something newer. They see these TH-cam videos of these cars and think they will have these giant killer type cars, not knowing we've put like $40k+ to build these platforms. Plus the basic maintenance on these old cars is needed. So you'll need to spend like $50k-$60k to get that fine tuned 800rwhp jdm killer is perfect condition. Buy a new C8, mustang gt, camaro SS, R35 gtr, Zupra, or equivalent with a warranty. Then mod that up. This 90s car game is for those who have money.

For those that are commenting negatively about getting a loan, you definitely are not a 100% car guy. Life is short and for many including myself (in my 30’s now) have been waiting patiently since I was a kid to own a skyline here in CA. It’s a much more difficult process and want to have one legit with CA plates. But overall that’s a dream goal of mine and many others. Most won’t understand and that’s fine.

I actually bought my MK4 Supra fro @JDMDRE. He is a really cool guy. Helped me with l my needs and questions for the car. Im very happy with it. I would buy that R34 if i had the chance.

Mkiv supras were the average tuners car that we could buy to beat up on vipers, porches, lambos, corvettes ferarris etc for a fraction of the price. Now mkiv supras sell at super car prices, it became what it was meant to destroy. Sad but thats the market...glad I bought my two 1998 Supras early on before the hype.

In 2016 mk4 supras were like 8-10 for decent models and 20k and more for perfect models now the cheapest one I seen recently was 70k 😂😂
