The series is anything BUT dead rn lmao. Grudge of Edinburgh (this) was fun and an improvement on the last 2 seasons animation-wise despite being CGI, the sequel manga Four Knights of the Apocalypse is FANTASTIC right now (and pretty much has been since it began in 2021), maybe even better than the original series at this point in its run. Volume sales are good too. Also, the first season of its anime adaptation is currently airing (and looks great! The best adaptation of the manga we’ve had in years!). AND the franchise is getting a big new open world game called Origin that’s coming out later this year which looks like it’s going to be phenomenal. AND the series has recently been getting a lot of cool new merchandise releases to cap it all off. The franchise is totally thriving rn. Just because the poor animation of season 3 (and to an extent season 4, though I don’t think the hate for that is as warranted) killed the hype and turned the anime community against the series doesn’t mean it’s not doing just fine on its own
Spoiler. I think if Tristan can learn to control his demon powers (say, with the help of his uncle Zeldris) he could become the most powerful member of the Four Knights of the Apocalypse.
For now, it’s Lancelot. they used to be equal, with Tristan being slightly stronger. But Lancelot side story explained how he became so strong surpassing Tristan. tho by the end of the series it’s a mystery who will be stronger.
Lancelot is stronger for now but Tristan still has room for improvement, in 2 years he can still sane in his Demon form for like 10 minutes and he defeat 2 monsters(I will not said the name since it will be a spoiler)

And stuff from it is occasionally referenced in the main series. It’s just the actual events of the movie that didn’t happen within canon)
