One of our last jacks found a nest of copper heads and then a rattle snake, killed a few, while fighting them was bit in the neck twice and further down her body. Her limbs were locking up when my grandfather found her. He killed a couple more snakes to get to her, but she was still trying to fight them. The craziest part is that she lived. She had to be rushed to the closest veterinary hospital for treatment, stayed with them for two weeks, but she came out of it seemingly stronger and madder than before. This is the same dog that once broke a tooth biting a shovel that my father was using to dig a hole for a rose bush. She was an absolute menace but also an amazing dog. She lived to be nearly 17 and probably would have lived longer but God knew she would be too powerful if left unchecked.
You get this feeling about humanity whenever you study languages. Because it explains why English has such weird spelling, the romance languages have masculine and feminine nouns, and Chinese decided to go with memorizing tens of thousands of pictograms instead of a couple dozen or so phonetic symbols.
I've seen a Jack Russel get kicked by a horse, sending him flying 30 feet into a bunch of hay to then get up 10 minutes later, dazed at first, the sneezing and then spotting the same horse and absolutely going mental running straight back at it.

I worked for a company where my boss had a Jack Russell Terrier. He brought the dog everyday with him to the company. When the dog entered the building he straight went to every office to be greeted and get some pets by going to everyone in that office, then sat right next to door to the shop. Once someone opened the door he's going to the first dude he sees in the shop waiting patiently to get some rubs and that dude to give him a cleaning towel with a knot which he carry to everyone in the shop to play with him, then leaving the shop trough the logistics, running around to the main building front door and getting to my bosses office to have a nap. He repeated this when the shifts were changing. Also, my boss trusted his dog that much, that he never did once business when the dog dislike the other guy. I know for a fact that the dog was right at least once.

I have a rottweiler. my baby boy is legit the sweetest. he will climb in your lap for pets. he got lost for 7hrs n turns out he was found by someone who sees him at the park n they brought him inside n posted on FB about it, and in the pictures he was just chilling LMAO. I say all of this to say that my happy smiley baby boy has 2 mortal enemies..and one is a Jack Russell terrier and the other is a demonic chihuahua named Diesel. He loves his best pal the yorkie around the corner so it isn't all small dogs; just those two.

My sister has had several because she thinks they are cute but she always has to re-home because she can't handle their requirements. It's annoying. I had a Jack Russell years ago. Mother Nature did not bolt him together quite right. Small hind legs like pork chops. Long front legs were bowed and could turn around towards his hind end. Head the size of a small apple. When he ran you just had to laugh. He was tough as helll. He thought he wad a Great Dane. Would fight anything. But was sweetheart to cuddle with. Miss him everyday.
I started crying after seing this, i have a jack Russell. He's turning 2 tomorrow and his name is Snoopy . We tried to train him but nah, he's just crazy 🤣🤣🤣

@@Plethorality I'm fortunate, that mine has an exceptionally deep voice. Only the poodle/bichon mix of a friend of mine matches the persistence in barking, and is more piercing at the same time, but will stop barking if petted - which is not an option for the JRT. I totally get the carpet thing. My second dog (she's actually the JRT's dog) is a Canaan. Same fluffs around the house, same stubbornness, but unfortunately less talkative than a Husky. So no worries about ever not having to vacuum twice a day. My JRT taught me a lot: changing his mind is not part of his vocabulary, always expect the unexpected and, of course, the walk of shame amongst other dog owners. He may be a terrible dog, but probably the best person I've ever met.
Jack Russells are a fierce bunch for sure, mines well up there in age now but he still tries to rough around dogs 3-4 times his size.... I'm surprised he's still alive at this point, some of them just seem to ignore him 😂
My aunt had a Jack Russel named Peanut and I loved him so much. He lived to be 20, half his years with cancer, and still was the happiest most playful boy

My Jack Russel died this year at the age of 16. The little beast was blind for the last 5 years of his life. In the first two weeks of his blindness he managed to successfully nip at 2 different dogs using his spidey senses. He wouldn't hurt a baby. But if something didn't look human, it was the enemy.
They are SUCH brave little dogs. We had a bunch of JRs & fox terriers that were pets but also kept the rabbit & rodent population in the hayshed at bay (which they did super well, rabbits are an invasive species in NZ). & they were so clever, so easy to train & so determined that a few of them would try & join the herding dogs too. Absolutely fearless, even of enormous cattle. They were ALWAYS the bosses on the farm. My fave was a foxy called Nutmeg who I had until she was 18. The SWEETEST girl. She was the only female & the runt of a litter from a pregnant rescue foxy we had (called Peanut). She was the most loyal & sensitive dog I ever had & I'll never forget her. RIP Nutmeg. You were the best girl x
Our Jack Russell "Princess" was an absolute opportunistic Queen in every way possible. She once snuck out when the gate was opened a smidge. I didnt realise until like an hour later when it was waaaay too quiet. Found her about half a km down the road in a neighbour's house. Apparently she had met the guy's dogs, followed them home, barged into the house, helped herself to some food and water and was now chilling in their bed. The other dog's were all completely intimidated by her despite them being at least twice as big. She was such a BAMF!

He's a gentle baby ❤ He loves playing and thinks every new person that visit my aunt's house is a friend 😭 He will wait for you with his wagging tail ready to make a new friend. (He can be a little bit too hyperactive and turn into a tornado running around the house destroying everything around him, but He's still my precious baby).

Parents have a JRT-beagal boy named Odie. He climbs trees, bays, jumps over fences, is basically all muscle, eats tarantulas, flushes badgers, and crowd controls cows. The dude is just 12 lbs of go-f-yourself. But his floppy ears are so damn soft!!

Nope, not really. Thats an owner issue. You just need to socialise them from a young age with other dogs, and other animals if possible. We have jack russells that will kill wild rabbits, mice and rats but not our chickens, rabbits or ducks
Had 3 at my job, two and their baby. They were the cutest little family, until they were there for 5 months and started to get fed up with all the other dogs. Needless to say, they stopped going to group play 😅😅 I still miss them though. LOVE THISE THREE. My favorite tenants we ever boarded

I had a Jack Russell, and out of all breeds I've owned, she was my favorite. Smartest dog I've ever encountered; she was originally bought for my sister, but chose me as her human. Followed me everywhere in the house and slept at my feet. She would watch me play video games and watch TV with me. I would have full on conversations with her and she'd react as if she understood me. I'm sure if anyone would want to mess with me, she'd had been all over them. I miss her so much. I had a Jack Russell years ago. Mother Nature did not bolt him together quite right. Small hind legs like pork chops. Long front legs were bowed and could turn
around towards his hind end. Head the size of a small apple. When he ran you just had to laugh. He was tough as helll. He thought he wad a Great Dane. Would fight anything. But was sweetheart to cuddle with. Miss him everyday.
I started crying after seing this, i have a jack Russell. He's turning 2 tomorrow and his name is Snoopy . We tried to train him but nah, he's just crazy 🤣🤣🤣

@@Plethorality I'm fortunate, that mine has an exceptionally deep voice. Only the poodle/bichon mix of a friend of mine matches the persistence in barking, and is more piercing at the same time, but will stop barking if petted - which is not an option for the JRT. I totally get the carpet thing. My second dog (she's actually the JRT's dog) is a Canaan. Same fluffs around the house, same stubbornness, but unfortunately less talkative than a Husky. So no worries about ever not having to vacuum twice a day.
My JRT taught me a lot: changing his mind is not part of his vocabulary, always expect the unexpected and, of course, the walk of shame amongst other dog owners. He may be a terrible dog, but probably the best person I've ever met.

My Jack Russel died this year at the age of 16. The little beast was blind for the last 5 years of his life. In the first two weeks of his blindness he managed to successfully nip at 2 different dogs using his spidey senses.
He wouldn't hurt a baby. But if something didn't look human, it was the enemy.

They are SUCH brave little dogs. We had a bunch of JRs & fox terriers that were pets but also kept the rabbit & rodent population in the hayshed at bay (which they did super well, rabbits are an invasive species in NZ). & they were so clever, so easy to train & so determined that a few of them would try & join the herding dogs too. Absolutely fearless, even of enormous cattle. They were ALWAYS the bosses on the farm. My fave was a foxy called Nutmeg who I had until she was 18. The SWEETEST girl. She was the only female & the runt of a litter from a pregnant rescue foxy we had (called Peanut). She was the most loyal & sensitive dog I ever had & I'll never forget her. RIP Nutmeg. You were the best girl x

Our Jack Russell "Princess" was an absolute opportunistic Queen in every way possible. She once snuck out when the gate was opened a smidge. I didnt realise until like an hour later when it was waaaay too quiet. Found her about half a km down the road in a neighbour's house. Apparently she had met the guy's dogs, followed them home, barged into the house, helped herself to some food and water and was now chilling in their bed. The other dog's were all completely intimidated by her despite them being at least twice as big. She was such a BAMF!

Omg. I helped my aunt raise her Jackador (Jack Russel/Labrador mix) and He is the opposite of what you just described. He has the face of a Jack Russel, but the body and the spirit of a Labrador. He wouldn't hurt a fly. He's a gentle baby ❤ He loves playing and thinks every new person that visit my aunt's house is a friend 😭 He will wait for you with his wagging tail ready to make a new friend. (He can be a little bit too hyperactive and turn into a tornado running around the house destroying everything around him, but He's still my precious baby).

Nope, not really. Thats an owner issue. You just need to socialise them from a young age with other dogs, and other animals if possible. We have jack russells that will kill wild rabbits, mice and rats but not our chickens, rabbits or ducks

I had a Jack Russell, and out of all breeds I've owned, she was my favorite. Smartest dog I've ever encountered; she was originally bought for my sister, but chose me as her human. Followed me everywhere in the house and slept at my feet. She would watch me play video games and watch TV with me. I would have full on conversations with her and she'd react as if she understood me. I'm sure if anyone would want to mess with me, she'd had been all over them. I miss her so much. I've a Jack Russell Terrier mix and honestly he's the most loyal and well tempered dog ever. Little dude just wants food and walks and to chill. He's 17 years old and as active as ever.
Hence it being a mix and not a purebred jrt
love to hear it but I would be carefull, i thought my dog was operating just fine until the vet told me he was almost completely blind, and arthritic, other problems to but I already knew those, I didnt know he was blind and arthritic though because he would always find the ball just fine when it was thrown for him and always loved running
