He’s humble and he actually knows the importance of listening instead of most narrow minded idiots of today
He also has his own podcast. He knows when to talk and when not to and how to keep a conversation going so he’s developed this skill with his own show. Look up his interviews with Mike Thornton or Rose Schindler (from Schindler’s List) to see his range. I don’t know if I could do intense 3 1/2 hour conversations without a break. For me it’s pretty inspiring to see their focus and mental discipline. I stopped making excuses for myself after listening to Jocko’s podcasts.

I’m sure they did catch some bad people, but if you saw how our soldiers treated the Iraqi people, you’d probably turn into a bad person too to defend your family and country. It was disgusting watching videos of our soldiers turning up their heavy metal and blasting away at civilians with their 40 and 50 cal’s.
I even watched one of our soldiers riding down a road next to a cliff and throw a live puppy off the cliff like trash.
I will never look at our soldiers the same again. I remember a documentary called Iraq For Sale about the military industrial complex and how they made their money. These people are evil and the ones who I’m proud of were the ones who turned on our leaders and said enough was enough! The ones who told Bush and Obama that they were war criminals and the real heroes!
I’m sure whoever this is in this video did a good job as a soldier and would die for his brothers, but is it still good when you found out you did it based on lies? We’re talking about murdering human beings. We’re talking about things not being able to grow in places ever again because of the radiation. More radiation than Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

It also really outs things into perspective. People are so quick to idolize the elite of the elite, but even though they contribute heavily at the end of the day, it is still the grunts and support guys who have to get out there and do the occupying, the building, the re-building, and unfortunately most of the dying. I once mentioned the "Mission Accomplished" banner that Bush was mocked for and my buddy immediately set me straight. Turns out that the dispshit media had twisted things around. The banner was to announce "mission accomplished" for that aircraft carrier, which had been deployed for months on end, was one of the first crafts to be deployed and was one of the longest active battle deployments in US naval history.
I've also heard a lot of exactly what Jocko is talking about with regards to most Iraqis wanting USA soldiers there. I think the opposition to this narrative is largely fueled by people parroting anti-war, anti-Bush, anti-American news reports. The fact is, most Iraqis hated Saddam and they hated the insurgents. One can argue about the benefits versus the pitfalls of removing Saddam, but the people there didn't want him and they didn't want crazy fundamentalist Muslims, either. People tend to forget that Iraq was one of the more progressive and secularized Islamic-majority nations in the region. That secular mindset didn't magically disappear just because Saddam was removed. The expression of this desire was largely crushed under the foot of radical insurgents that terrorized the populace, but the desire was largely still present in the populace then and it still is today.
