    I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the A7IV. You can completely disable that screen sensor. I map C1 to monitor/viewfinder toggle. The crop is a physical limitation on the sensor readout. It simply can’t read the full frame fast enough. The truth is, we all know what we buy when we buy it. It is nice to want, but the reality is, we need to accept the capabilities when we buy it and not look back. It makes life much better. You just have less to care about that doesn’t really matter. Anyway, always enjoyed your 2 channels. Keep going!

    One of the most comprehensive reviews I've seen. As an owner of an FX6 who's looking to get an all-in-one small factor camera for mostly photos + videos on the side as a B cam, this was super helpful (as I was still considering the A7III). Will be getting the IV. Thank you!

    Great video!
    I'm switching from Canon to Sony after 11 years. Already have the A7sIII (I absolutely love it) and my 5D MkIV will be replaced by the A7IV as the main photo camera in the studio.
    For video the change was easier than I thought. Now let's see how it goes for photos.

    • @dennispombo
      @dennispombo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Erinndraper Yes! Loving it. The only 2 things I had to really adapt were: Lightroom does not accept tethering for Sony Câmeras (using Capture One now); Sony A7iv does not send guide lines to external monitors and I'm so used to using them and that's my biggest struggle.

    • @Erinndraper
      @Erinndraper 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@dennispombo that's interesting to know. I guess that's a standard monitor rather than an external monitor for camera work? As I suspect a designated one would have the option built into the monitor for example.

    • @dennispombo
      @dennispombo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Erinndraper My usual setup for stills and, specially for flatlay stills or videos, is Camera + Feelworld F6 Plus + Dell 24" monitor. I can have the guides in the F6 montior, but not the guides from de camera. And the F6 does not send its guides through the HDMI out. With the 5D MKIV I could have the guides in both montiors.
      Now if I need specific guides, I can use it from Capture One in liveview mode, but I loose the fullscreen in the 24" monitor.

Like in a nightclub shooting a band (yeah, I know they have stage lights) or just an indoor party and you don't want to use a flash and you don't want to have a blur and you don't want to bump up the ISO only get a lot of noise? • @roganthoerson1909

    i selected that camera mainly for the lens selection because there are many 3rd party lenses that works very well with it and there is the Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 which is the best event lens i ever owned.
    the flip screen is a big plus and i start enjoying doing video with it, i was very much a photo guy.
    I don't like the battery door, it should be self locking. I miss focus stacking, and some functions that i had on magic lantern like motion detection for birding.
    The rolling shutter isn't that great and i would have liked a automatic anti flickering for shooting silent indoor.

    It's not possible to have an affordable, smallish, and more versatile camera for that price..Most of the time when you pack too much it's expensive, overkill, people cry about size/weight, or it overheats, which kills the point of having a camera. Rolling shutter becomes an issue with technique since people shot action with film cameras for decades. I know what people have done hundreds of years ago to now,and mostly we are still taking the same pictures all the so called features are only to keep us buying more stuff more often..That being said I do love my two Sonys with their amazing AF,yet like i said,the same shots were achieved on film..

    • @ColtCapperruneTech
      @ColtCapperruneTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 24 mm F1.4 is a really incredible lens! So depends on what you are using this camera for. Obviously the 16 to 35 is much more versatile. 24 mm is a bit tight for Vlogging or any sort of handheld shots filming yourself. But the 24 mm is definitely the sharper more impressive looking lens. However, if I could only have one lens, and the choice was between those two, it would be the 16 to 35. Hope that helps!

    what you guys would choose between the a7 IV or the Fujifilm XH2S ? mainly for video shooting

    • @yes_senpai8880
      @yes_senpai8880 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used to have the XH2S. I was fully invested in Fujifilm, had two bodies, all of the new 1.4 lenses, the new 56, the 90, and a couple of the red badge zooms.
      The XH2S is a beast and you honestly can't go wrong with it. I think it comes down to a few things. The XH2S is stacked, and compared to the A7IV, it's no competition. The XH2S simply has a much MUCH faster readout. Virtually no rolling shutter, lower crops, etc.
      The XH2S also has cheaper glass, though not quite as versatile as the E-Mount.
      Aside from that, the XH2S has CF-B (faster and cheaper than CF-A), more internal video options (including open gate 6.2K, and internal prores... of course has 10-Bit 4:2:2 and a wonderful LOG, just like Sony), Fuji colors, unique Fuji noise handling, etc.
      But, the A7IV is no slouch neither. Larger sensor, so more dynamic range and low light capabilities. Much better AF (though the XH2S is the best in the Fuji line and is good). More lens options. Still allows you to shoot 4K downsampled from 7K, 10-Bit, 4:2:2. You can shoot on V60 SDs. Etc.
      It's the same story for photos too. You need speed? Fuji. You need AF? Sony. You need better lenses? Sony. You need a large option of cheaper, yet good lenses? Fuji. You need low light performance? Sony. You need JPEGs? Fuji. We can go on and on.
      They both excel in their own areas. I traded to Sony (the A7IV) because I felt it was time for me personally to jump to FF, and for the larger selection of professional lenses (especially zooms) coming out regularly. But I'm a hybrid shooter. If I was shooting video only... I'd probably go with the XH2S and throw on a fringer lens adapter. Combine that with a cage and/or gimbal. But that's just me.
