I haven’t gotten a next gen car yet but I like what I saw in this video. I use similar glue to what you are using also. It f I get a little low I have been known to mix the Testors glue with the thinner glue. lol. It works. lol. Thank you for the video and what y’all do at Jr. Salvinos. Bruce in Wv.
it will, also make sure you trim some of the draft that the factory added to the mounting bases for the A frames, I was recently made aware that they might cause the camber to kick in at the top. You can email me direct jim@salvino.us with questions or to order.
The jig does look good and I'm interested in one but was wondering how it works with warped chassis ? as no matter how much bending I do I can never get it fullt straight, especially the front splitter area, thanks for sharing
you can be a little bit aggressive, but that doesn't mean make a pretzel out of it, once you get it glued to the chassis frame, that'll hold most everything in place. If you still have issues, call or email Rick@salvino.us, I'm going to have him do a video on the undertray
great idea, but there's really not a way of doing that, but I would glue in the tops of the shocks into the frame and and fit the bottoms to the hub carriers, let them set, then glue in the carriers and the upper A arms
Thanks Jim, 2 questions thought. First, can I build the frame like you just did and the assemble per instructions? Second, what would you recommend to attack the chrome parts with.
Yes, you can build by the instructions and use pennies, or whatever you'd like for the equal ride height, using the jig with the undertray just makes it easier. The chrome on our kits is real metal chrome and it's not meant to be removed, you can use CA glues, 5 minute epoxy, or any sort of rubber type - my preference is 3M 08061 emblem adhesive
@@salvinosjrmodels I have a jig from you. You sent me this link because I used the jig wrong. So can I build thr frame as you did the circle back through the instutions.
Just my 2 cents - If you cannot find liquid styrene cement in your area, go to Home Depot or Lowes and pickup a jar of MEK Substitute. It is the exact same thing and for the same price as the hobby bottle, you will get a lifetime supply.
yes, it fits all the Next Gen kits. Just email jim@salvino.us with your address and PayPal email if it is different, and I'll bill when I ship - currently I'm looking at about a week's worth of printing to catch up with the orders
Sorry, it's been a long time since I recorded and watched the video, but if I was referring to the triangular points on D-51, the frame section under the fuel cell, anywhere from .010" to .030" off of each side of the points is fine, there isn't a problem there if there is too much of a gap, only that they are wedged in too tightly now, the section will be square if they don't touch at all
Just received mine in the mail. Excitred to try it out.

I wish the jig would add one additional item. A bucket to locate the shock bottom in the proper place and angle.

I also use Weld-On #3, but be VERY careful and sparing with them both, they dissolve the plastic scary fast, and don't get them on you!
How can I purchase the jig? Is it good for all the next gen kits?

Trim off .02”-.03”? .03” is to close to 1/32”. I think you meant 2-3 thousandth of an inch (.002-.003”) 😊
