Nah dude we already have all shapes we need, ec2a for palm, s2 for claw and fk1 for f tip. Ofc there are other mice with different shapes but i would say that these 3 are the main shapes
I disagree. I've been a long-time follower of Zy and have mostly loved his reviews between 2016-2019 (bought G403 and Viper Mini because of him). Since he started keeping reviews really short (5mins~) and only reviewing the shape and mostly neglecting thorough examination of everything else I have moved on to other channels (Reily & BadSeedTech) that pay attention to many of the tiny details that make or break a purchase. Zy sounds a lot more disinterested in the new reviews as well, as if it's a choir doing them. Zy, if you're reading this, shape is not the only most important aspect of a mouse (just because everything else works as expected and is using already familiar tech, implementation matters a lot too). Please take note of what other TH-camrs like Reily are doing to test their mice as I feel like your channel will fall off if you keep this up.

Got mine m42 yesterday. To be honest, thats the best mice i have ever played with. And i played with a lot of different mices in the last 15 years. Feels so much better than the Viper Mini.
Viper mini has been my main for a while now - this could be the replacement! Always find that my aim is way better on smaller mice, even if they're slightly less comfortable to use over long sessions.
Seems like a mouse that could finally replace the Viper Mini for me with that taller back. Already pre-ordered it weeks ago when it was first announced, can't wait to try it out!
I have a Viper Mini, I would say I could see myself switching to this bc of the better sensor. Also the taller hump, because my first mouse was REALLY comfortable and was like a MM710, except it was a Logitech Stock mouse😂
My preorder of this mouse has arrived like 2 days ago, yesterday i gave her a spin in PUBG for a couple of hours and compared to my previous mouse of g502, holy hell is it so much better. The weight does matter when it's such a drastic change, and so far i haven't made my mouse pad wet from sweating yet, which is why holes are really nice for me and less weight. I like the more pronounced back of the mouse so far, the rgb is pretty nice, all though there is no orange color, i cannot set it to orange to go along with my dark base 900 pc case. The middle mouse button/scroll wheel is so much better to use than the g502's one, even though that one has a hyper scroll, but for non hyper scroll usage it's way better. The weight and the shape, better and undamaged skates on this mouse compared to the g502 i had till now with 1600 cpi vs 2000 i had on g502, i was able to move in PUBG so much easier even with the fact i was running at lower cpi than i used to, so nice.
So I bought this mouse, but I wasn't aware, that there is no software, and the big button below the mouse wheel is just an RGB button and can NEVER be used for anything else, because there is no software to change the buttons function. Why would ANYONE want a huge RGB button at the top, that can only be used for that? WHY??? Because everyone wants to quickly adjust their RGB colors in the heat of the moment when playing a shooter? They traded functionality for looks and that's just a mind-boggling design decision to me. And something annoying for me personally: My preferred DPI setting is just in the middle between 2 steps (yellow and orange). I love the shape, the feel, and this mouse honestly has the best mouse wheel I have EVER used, but the lack of software and the big, uselessly prominent RGB button may just force me to go back to the Model O-.
this is definitely going to be my next mouse after my g305, im in need of a back hump but a bit higher and my hand is small so this is definitely perfect.
love seeing these types of Reviews was looking at getting the Xtrfy M4 this coming month but now that i see this im probably just switching over to getting this
Honestly i feel that there's a certain point when lesser weight becomes irrelevant. At that point, ergonomics and xlixk durability and feel will be the determining factors.
Only this week I have purchased this mouse just for fun. Actually being able to see the insides is kind of cute (seeing the name inside is kind of very cute). I am using the "high back". Good mouse; perhaps not VERY much better than many other mice, but certainly not a bad mouse.
It helps when we have the exact same hand measurements aha. I am more of a palm gripper though but I've been testing out a modified palm/claw & fingertip recently. Results have been interesting.. Thx for the recommendation Zy ill definitly check this one out.
One suggestion if I may: could you please also include the top ‘dpi’ button in your click test in future videos? I bind that button to something else and use that a lot. Perhaps others may benefit from this as well. Otherwise, excellent video highlighting the uniqueness. I will try this mouse out thanks to you.
I just recently tried this mouse for myself. Coming from an MM710 I thought I would totally desert the low back. But actually, I think the low back is better for my grip which I found interesting, I feel like I aim better with it
Ohhhh, this might be the backup for my Air58, because goodluck with FM support (Yes, I know the Model 0 is basically the same mouse, but I wanna branch out a little)
This looks like the ideal mouse size and shape for my preferred claw grip; I've been using the Model O- and I think a slightly more pronounced hump would be more comfortable as I find myself adapting more of a fingertip grip than claw with it. Will likely be my next purchase since the GPro Wireless Xtralight is so pricey.
Bought it because of your detailed review, and man o’ man its a dream... This mouse its something else, I’M very impressed; curently using the low back, for the fingertip grip. Thank you lots for the work you put in these reviews, I find them the best. #hatsoff #utherealmvp
I would love this as a wireless version and with the Razer viper ultimate switches, somehow they feel the best to me. The interchangable backplates are something i wished for ever since the logitech mice back in the day which had interchangable shells and weights (which was useless but i mean a cool to have feature). Forgot the name, was ages ago^^. Was wondering why they stoped doing that with the newer mice and now I´m stoked to see its coming back!!!
Hey rjn there's a mouse in early development that looks pretty promising. It's called the Origin One X wireless ultralight, 66g no holes, intellimouse shape, PAW3335 and kailh GM8.0 switches. I think they're going to have a free sample review batch, would be cool to see if you could snag one.
Holy shit... that's the dream if the build quality is good Edit: just looking into it I'm definitely interested this is what zowie should have done years ago
God I'm really diggin this mouse but I like having my DPI setting set at a specific number =/ and ordered the Model-O wireless but literally taking forever to come has been almost a month now! thinking about canceling and getting this. Cheers Zy' always appreciate your reviews
I honestly would like to see more light weight mice without rgb, i turn it off anyways and its extra weight (idk if im alone there but more rgb in new mice gets more and more)
Awesome review as usual. I doubt that they will get the patent on the adjustable shape though 😂 Also puzzles me why it took so long that this got a thing. The Logitech G9x I had 15 years ago was also really cool in that regard.
Just got one. was running the Model O- before. Honestly with the low profile back in place, it feels almost identical. but that's *not* how I currently run it. I run it *without* the back shell, and shaved down a bit of the plastic at the rear edge. In this configuration it's quite good for fingertip, even with smaller hands.
hopefully you’ll do a review on the model o wireless. waiting for your top 10 mice list to update cuz im choosing between the model o wireless and the aerox 3 wireless
Well was going to get the Cooler Master MM711 for Christmas, but this Xtrify M42 RGB with a swapabble back seems like better value. Also centered sensor! Only downside is the cable, how does it compare to a paracord or the MM710/11ultraweave cable (seems to be the best stock one)? Cheers!
I just got the m710. If you've watched the reviews, you would know that there's been some small issues with the structure and build quality in the past. I tried m710 months ago and i had no issues but the one i just got has every single build quality problem that it had before, quirking inside, terrible button wobbling and accidental side button press while puttin too much pressure on the side. Overall it's a lottery. I wanted to send it back and replace it but now that i've seen the m42, imma just send it back and wait :d
I would say the best stock cable is on the XM1. If the cord is to stiff you can always paracord it, super easy to do. If you live in the states Lethal Gaming Gear will even 3d print you a stress relief.
Don't go for the mm710/11 its to much wobble on the left and right click, feels so bad when you play, trust me, had about three, one mm710 and two mm711, and the side-buttons are almost to sharp, it hurts your thumb in games like Fortnite after a while, its not good overall. Hope this helped, the only thing good with that mouse is the sensor and the shape & now we have the Xtrfy m42 that feels that gap, go for that one... I will.
I just bought this. RJN making me want more mice, but this is definitely endgame (maybe until mz1). I can't feel the difference between high and low back since I fingertip this on 19.5 * 10 cm hands. I swap them every once in a while because swapping the backs is addicting
@@jkcrumley haha same, although i will be buying the rvu after i get some money cause i am spending it all on gmmk pro and gmk 80082 haha. pulsfire haste is pretty good though
@@meese1k yeah I've hear good things about the haste. I tried to get my friend to buy that instead of the aerox but he didn't listen and now he regrets it because he doesn't like the aerox lol.
I'm currently maining G303 Deadalus with 18.5 by 10 relaxed claw/palm claw , not sure if I should go for mm711 or m4. So far I'm leaning more towards the mm711 because I don't like ergo mice at all, i can't aim with them + the shape is very simillar to g303 , m4 seems a bit longer and flatter with less of a pronounced hump. People generally recommend the m4 because it seemingly has better QC , but I also hear than new batches of mm711 have no issues and after all the shape is the most important thing for aiming.
Remember that it's better by his preferences. Any top tier mouse these days is as good as it can get, with the only differences being shape and weight. He likes the M42 shape better, you might not. Don't sheep after someone else's choices
When will they update this mouse. I love the shape. They need to fix the dpi variation and put in the kail8.0 switches. Also they need to either take away the cable or give it the same one as the mz1.
This ability to change the back is kind of a big deal now that most people buy mice online without first trying out if the shape suits them. This could save someone the hassle of returning the mouse because between the two back covers this mouse covers quite a lot of similar shapes on the market.
Hi RJN! What is your opinion of the the Xtrfy m42 right now? The same? Has there been a mouse released in the last 2 years which should be considered over this? *Wired only
I bought the razer viper earlier this month. Coming from the 403 it's been amazing, though the scroll wheel click started turning mushy/flat a few days ago. I think this might be due to the ultra light design of the wheel, but it's troubling that it broke so fast. Edit: I managed to somewhat fix the flatness of the wheel by gently pulling it up a bit, but I'll probably send it back anyway
Been using the xm1 and really like it but have always complained it’s a little too big for my hand fingertip gripping... now that I’ve seen this it seems PERFECT
Wish this had come out earlier. I got my mm711 a few months ago and have within the past couple weeks switched from claw to fingertip grip. It feels great, but I can't help but wonder if a shorter backed mouse would be better. Though I don't have any trouble with the hump obstructing anything so I don't know. I do think the significantly smaller width of this mouse would be good.
how good was the flicking? can you flick fast? like from one end of your mousepad to your other end of your mousepad in one swipe without it stoping on the screen? like in less than 1 second?
Most mice that use the omron left and right clicks will have the same issue, Yiur best bet is the Razer viper mini, Razer viper or the Razer viper ultimate
@@Brandon-xj4yv I have the viper mini and ultimate. Whilst their nice it doesn't feel right for me. Both are great mice though. It's not an issue itself with the switch that is causing my problem. My left click tends to stick after extensive usage. I've taken the whole thing apart, air blasted it, cleaning it out with iso and the works and within a week it will start sticking again. Reading about it seems it's a common issue for the first batch that went out as I bought it on launch. The mouse is otherwise perfect for my grip and stupid hand size.
Did anyone else buy this and notice the terrible 90° angle of the cable when opening the box? (Same as previous model O- packaging) If so, any breakages in the cables yet, or does quality of the cable seem fine so far?

I've fallen in love with this mouse, coming from the mm710, this is my new main. Although I prefer the lower back
how would you say the cable and weight compare to the mm710? and is it a big enough difference to actually matter?
i just ordered this mouse, i hope no problem in QC or anything
Xtrfy needs to be available on best buy and amazon
And now we wait for the pro x superlight review 🙃
I personally can't wait for the pwnage ultra custom and model o wireless review. I gotta choose one.
Holy shit... that's the dream if the build quality is good
Edit: just looking into it I'm definitely interested this is what zowie should have done years ago
@@HollowRick yeah, I hope their qc is good
Great review zy!
I wasnt notified about this video
my end game mouse.. claw grip, smol hands. perfect in any aspect for me.. literally bought additional 2 pcs just in case lmao
got it, love it! Headshotmaschine!
God I'm really diggin this mouse but I like having my DPI setting set at a specific number =/ and ordered the Model-O wireless but literally taking forever to come has been almost a month now! thinking about canceling and getting this. Cheers Zy' always appreciate your reviews
Going to pick one up, will use high back. Need that xm1\s1 hump in my palm
I honestly would like to see more light weight mice without rgb, i turn it off anyways and its extra weight (idk if im alone there but more rgb in new mice gets more and more)
Fck rgb doesn't give anything
@@rdmz135 yeah true the new logitech gpw looked like it didnt have too much rgb in the leaks so im hyped for that
Awesome review as usual. I doubt that they will get the patent on the adjustable shape though 😂
Also puzzles me why it took so long that this got a thing. The Logitech G9x I had 15 years ago was also really cool in that regard.
Could you do some side reviews of some very cheap mice? It would be nice to see how far can go a top tier mouse!
Just got one. was running the Model O- before.
Honestly with the low profile back in place, it feels almost identical. but that's *not* how I currently run it.
I run it *without* the back shell, and shaved down a bit of the plastic at the rear edge. In this configuration it's quite good for fingertip, even with smaller hands.
this mouse looks incredible
hopefully you’ll do a review on the model o wireless. waiting for your top 10 mice list to update cuz im choosing between the model o wireless and the aerox 3 wireless
Nice detailed review
I miss the m4 but it was really hard for me to use the side buttons I’m going to give this one a try
It looks like the side buttons are hard to reach by thumb on Zys hand too
Well was going to get the Cooler Master MM711 for Christmas, but this Xtrify M42 RGB with a swapabble back seems like better value.
Get a bungee thingy I have 0 clue how to spell it. But those work great for mice like these
Don't go for the mm710/11 its to much wobble on the left and right click, feels so bad when you play, trust me, had about three, one mm710 and two mm711, and the side-buttons are almost to sharp, it hurts your thumb in games like Fortnite after a while, its not good overall. Hope this helped, the only thing good with that mouse is the sensor and the shape & now we have the Xtrfy m42 that feels that gap, go for that one... I will.
Can't wait for the wireless version.
I just bought this. RJN making me want more mice, but this is definitely endgame (maybe until mz1). I can't feel the difference between high and low back since I fingertip this on 19.5 * 10 cm hands. I swap them every once in a while because swapping the backs is addicting
FINALLY YOU MENTIONED A SENSOR IN THE TITLE 😂
you should review the roccat burst pro and the hyperx haste
I'm interested in the hyperx haste review and aerox review too.
@@jkcrumley hyper haste is much better than aerox. if you want wireless, go viper ultra or pwnage uc etc
@@meese1k I'm not in the market. I just love watching mouse reviews for some reason. I have a cooler master mm710 and I love it.
I have never heard of this brand in my life
Let's see if we can help get them on the map more then!
@@RocketJumpNinja Do you have a discount code for preordering from the Xtrfy website?
@@RocketJumpNinja I'm sure we will.
I see that you have Razer's new RGB mouse bungee V3 lol. Nice vid.
This is top 3 mouse ? Ok I'm considering it right now
I swear I just bought a viper mini and then rjn posts this
Remember that it's better by his preferences. Any top tier mouse these days is as good as it can get, with the only differences being shape and weight. He likes the M42 shape better, you might not. Don't sheep after someone else's choices
Nice, I do have a O- but I might try this.
Thx for the review! Are the main clicks as light as the M4's? (i hope they made them a bit harder to press)
When will they update this mouse. I love the shape. They need to fix the dpi variation and put in the kail8.0 switches. Also they need to either take away the cable or give it the same one as the mz1.
Hmmm I wonder where is the glorious model O wireless 🤔
no need, it’s very similar to the o, just a tiny bit heavier.
Good review! Very excited about this mouse, do you shoot some of your moving b-roll handheld or do you use a slider / gimbal?
My hands are just a bit over 20 by 10 in size but I am still thinking heavily about this mouse
Did you bought it ?
What are your thought on the new Logitech G Pro X Superlight?
Very good but overpriced
good for its weight but expensive when you get some features removed
its really good, just very expensive
This ability to change the back is kind of a big deal now that most people buy mice online without first trying out if the shape suits them. This could save someone the hassle of returning the mouse because between the two back covers this mouse covers quite a lot of similar shapes on the market.
Hi RJN! What is your opinion of the the Xtrfy m42 right now?
The same? Has there been a mouse released in the last 2 years which should be considered over this?
*Wired only
was ever wondering if ur gonna review the hati -s or the mira s, as there like a small gpw
Yea that's a good idea, i kinda want the red hati s
I bought the razer viper earlier this month. Coming from the 403 it's been amazing, though the scroll wheel click started turning mushy/flat a few days ago. I think this might be due to the ultra light design of the wheel, but it's troubling that it broke so fast. Edit: I managed to somewhat fix the flatness of the wheel by gently pulling it up a bit, but I'll probably send it back anyway
this is same issue to me ;C
Been using the xm1 and really like it but have always complained it’s a little too big for my hand fingertip gripping... now that I’ve seen this it seems PERFECT
Wish this had come out earlier. I got my mm711 a few months ago and have within the past couple weeks switched from claw to fingertip grip. It feels great, but I can't help but wonder if a shorter backed mouse would be better. Though I don't have any trouble with the hump obstructing anything so I don't know. I do think the significantly smaller width of this mouse would be good.
viper mini for u then
Glorious Model O Wireless next? Would love your input on the sensor they've used BAMF :D
@Bauer007 Noone said otherwise, I don't see the point in you commenting that....
Still hoping for a g wolves hati review from the goat himself, hopefully it comes soon I wanna hear his opinion
I think I saw a tweet saying he won't review g wolves products because of spyware in their drivers but I could be wrong
im ordering it and im gonna use it with the taller hump. 19 by 10.5 cm here.
how good was the flicking? can you flick fast? like from one end of your mousepad to your other end of your mousepad in one swipe without it stoping on the screen? like in less than 1 second?
Hey Zy, what do you think about the model o wireless? Think it really brings competition to the wireless mouse game. It would make a great vid:)
I've been looking to upgrade from my model-o due to the left click becoming a little faulty. This may be the one. Thanks for the review!
@@Aphex51 Understandable
Did anyone else buy this and notice the terrible 90° angle of the cable when opening the box? (Same as previous model O- packaging) If so, any breakages in the cables yet, or does quality of the cable seem fine so far?
Zy, what kind of mouse bungee is that? Great review.
Consider grabbing a copy of this mouse for some testing purposes.
Currently maining the 710 (custom) and it feels really good.
Nice to see a shape that slightly raised back, or at least the option
to have one if you so much prefer
It's the Razer mouse bungee V3 Chroma
@@PinKeeDJ thanks! 🙏
