Great video bro! I just did this job on a 98 Avalon. It took me awhile to figure it out. Now, lets see a video on how to replace the O-ring on the pump! haha.
@chamblizi i used a jack on the tranny to lower it. i had to pull the carpet back in the cab and undo the floor pan to get to the top bolts to the tranny. it took two people and about a weekends worth of work to get it out.
I just had my 2001 ford expedition dump all of the transmission fluid a few hours ago. Mechanic is saying that the front pump needs replaced because it's overheating and pushing the fluid through the seal. How hard was it to get the transmission out?
Vim Vitae Media it was pretty hard to get out. I didn’t have all the proper tools back then. You have to lift the carpet in the cab get some bolts as well. Took me a couple days off and on without a lift.
92 e40d on a 460 you can lift up the tailshaft with a Jack and attack it from the top with an air ratchet or a strong arm(breaker bar) or use a shit load of extensions, works if you don't want to rip your carpet around or if Interior is in good condition, this was an accident 92 250 though
Hey I got a ford excursion v10 \ looks like I may have the same thing 4R100 wouldn't know until I drop it though .. Also Looks like you bought a new pump. Thanks for sharing
Dan McG I’m no expert, but I think pump gives oil pressure to switch gears as you speed up. So if you pump is not working right the transmission will not shift in to the next gear.
just checked to see how much it would cost to have a transmission shop change fluid and filter in my 94 Ranger. haha He said 210.00 . are you kidding me. haha no way. I will do it myself I guess. hell the filter and gasket ain't but 16 bucks. Crazy
dude, there is part of this yellow ring literally hanging out of my tranny about an inch kind of kinked up. How hard is dropping a tranny this size with a standard transmission jack? if I make sure there is plenty of transmission fluid can I still drive it so repair location? I did drive it home into my driveway where I noticed oil spot, prompting me to look. Thanks!

Could also lift the tailshaft with a Jack and attack it with an air ratchet from the top or just use a shit load of extensions, done both.
David Hallock l used l used a swivel socket at the end of a long extention 1/2 " and a breaker bar. It worked good.
Faboo! I'll try this on my C6, if it works out.
Why not replace the gasket Qwimby??

If pump isn’t working nothing will work

That's an aod Definitely not a e4od and it's not a 4r70 or a aode either or the input shaft would be 1 piece
not a E40D. It's an AOD
Forgot to add torque specs.
