I prefer the American made More Power Puller. It's made of solid cast iron and can pull 1.5t single line. I got the version with the dyneema winching rope instead of the steel cable. It's great for controlled felling, 👍💪🪓🌲🇮🇪🇮🇪
At 72, I'm finding the middling Huskies starting to get a touch heavy, so treated myself to a Husky battery saw. Only small, but it's brilliant. In fact I've hardly picked up the others since.
Nice work, Andy! Could you please share how you got the strop attached so far up the tree? Did you actually climb up there or perhaps first used a weighted throw line?
Is your Stihl saw really 100v Andy ? i can't find one higher than 36v, and the largest one I can find is the AP500, which is about 9Ah capacity, 36v. Just asking, as I'm heading towards a battery saw one of these days myself... Cheers, Dave
Dave, you are right, it's the 30 x 3.6v that got me. They are using 3.6v cells and these are more durable than the 3.8v cells. I'm told they should be good for 3000 cycles, cheers
@@TheInfoworksWhich exact model is it you have? Not sure if the Stihl Canadian promotion is still on but I was thinking of getting one. I had an Oregon one that I really liked, but the controller board failed and you can’t get a replacement :(
@@AndrewMoizer it's an MSA 220C, 36v, suits me and you can run it in the back yard. I was wrong about the 100v as the battery says 30 x 3.6v, but lower on the label is 36v, cheers
I have used a Tirfor winch so many times in tree work, it never lets you down. Good to see you are having fun and exercise. Cheers
Oh yes, they are slow but sure and no drum to get bound up, cheers
Fantastic Andy...Merry Christmas 😊
I hope it's good for you, cheers
Love your content, keep up the good work! happy Christmas from an ex Disco 2 owner in sunny Scotland.
Thanks for the message, I once used a MK1 disco auto, felt like diving a barge, cheers
Tirfor jacks are truly amazing bits of kit.
Indeed, brilliant for the slow pressure, cheers

Similar experience, and when I feel the power drop off, time to do something else so I try not to run the battery to auto switch off, cheers

Hi, just used my longest ladder, needs to be high to reduce the stress on the hinge, cheers
