    For over 30 years, I've used Reynolds Wrap Heavy Duty foil for all my BBQ needs. My mother-in-law had some of that "cheap" stuff when I was at her place during the COVID-19 crisis [when we got stuck in Florida for 10 weeks] and it drove me crazy! I finally had to go to the store to get the REAL foil! Now I can buy the foil at Costco in twin packs! Great savings and I know I will always have it on hand. I've done many beef plate ribs and they are always better wrapped!

    I second the Reynolds Heavy Duty Foil for bbq. I used to have both the regular and heavy duty on hand. The regular was for inside cooking, lining or covering pans in the oven, etc. Finally, I just gave way to the regular and use the heavy duty exclusively. Keep at least 1 package of each width on hand at all times. Would rather run out of beer, then foil when I need it !!!!!

    Love the video, learned a few tips, love the mustard/Worcestershire combination, learned how to properly pronounce that word a couple days ago. "Woosh Ta Sure". That piece of meat was absolutely beautiful. Found some Beef ribs at Costco but not too much meat on dem bones, but better than I have ever seen around here so I bought them and cooked them last week and they were outstanding. Great video perfectly taught! Beautiful Video, that camera is amazing!

    Way to go Russ. I smoked some beef Dino ribs a few months back with Ninja who’s Chanel is Salty Tales, out of North Miami. My wife and I went down there in March right before things got bad with COVID 19. I saw one of his episodes smoking big beef ribs and although they were juicy he said they just were not tender enough. So I ordered a lot of meats and sent them to his place where he invited my wife and I to come over and give him some hints. After arriving he asked if I wanted to be on his Chanel smoking some ribs...and of course I said a resounding yes! I cooked them almost like you except I wrapped them only the last hour of the cook, they came out amazing. I love the mustard with wow her shire sauce but try adding some hot sauce to the mix even better. So thanks yours looked really really delicious. By the way if you’d like to see the videos, (I’m so proud of it ) it’s Salty Tales with Mr and Mrs Ninja. The title is smoking with John T. Let me know what you think. Love your Chanel keep up the good work.

    Looking good! I just scored Prime brisket at Costco for $2.59/lb! I don't know if it was mis-marked or what. It was $5.99 just the other day. Thanks, I appreciate it. It does look heavy and it is, but as you seen beef ribs swell up really think and it can handle that much rub easily. No need for xanthan gum if using mustard. It will make it thick enough to use as nice binder.

    Thx sir,the beef ribs looked really tender. What's your thoughts on foil shiny side vs not shiny side? When it come to cooking faster?

    • @SmokyRibsBBQ
      @SmokyRibsBBQ  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! You can actually go to the Reynolds Wrap website and they have information on the shiny vs non shiny side. Basically it makes no difference whatsoever. Just a myth that's been going around for years, but with that said, it does matter on their non-stick aluminum foil. The dull side is the non-stick side, but makes no difference on any of the other foil products.

    Man o man does that look delicious! I’m trying to figure out where to source my meat here in Pennsylvania. Rus, what exactly should I ask the butcher to get me. Or should I order it online?

    • @SmokyRibsBBQ

      These are referred to as beef short plate ribs, and many times just called beef plate ribs. They come from the short plate section of the steer. I was having a hard time finding them online recently with all this Covid stuff going on, so I was super happy when I found them in my local area.

    Man I ain't smoke dino ribs in a while due to the price hike. Last time I made a rack of 3 it was 68 bucks. I went to smoking beef finger ribs now coz I get 2 long racks for about 20 bucks. Definitely not the same but it will do in these tough times.

    Them have about 3 times the amount of meat on them than the ones I cooked today. I found some ribs in the freezer from some skinny cow...........it was almost more work to make them than the effort to eat them. They tasted great but there was not much meat on them. Hard to find any good beef ribs at the store unless you order them online. Yours looked delicious.

    • @SmokyRibsBBQ
      @SmokyRibsBBQ  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      sounds like you had beef back ribs where they remove the ribeye. Look for beef plate short ribs. Thats what these were.

    • @crunchmunch5282
      @crunchmunch5282 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SmokyRibsBBQ Yes, you are correct. They were actually the last beef ribs I seen in the store. Last time I asked the butcher at my store he said if he could get Beef Ribs, I probably could not afford them because they were so high priced now with the plandemic. The last plate ribs I got were 3 to 4" thick..........these were just scrawny looking to start with. They turned out good and tasty, there was just not much meat on them. I just hope the prices come down when this is over. I have a buddy that raises cattle and he tells me his prices at the market have not gone up when selling so the middle man is taking advantage of a lot of people.

      If you had any idea the work, time and money that goes into producing these videos, perhaps you would better understand why sponsors is a big deal to most youtube channels. It's just the way it works, here and elsewhere. It's costing you NOTHING (free) to watch!

    I am sure you know, but 1 of them bones of ribs might cost $20 or more from a shop. With sides and a beverage, a $27 meal. Great job young man. I don't see plate ribs often around here. If I do, I'll be damm sure to get a package or 2.

    • @porsche944mt
      @porsche944mt 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many grocery stores sell the "short ribs" that people use for braising. The short ribs are actually the plate ribs cut into those short rib sizes. Ask your butcher at the grocery store that you want the short ribs uncut. You can also use the cut short ribs the same way he's doing them.
