Muhammed Lawal joins Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show to discuss his life as a coach at American Top Team after retiring as a fighter. What he says is true, i remember myself 5 years back talking to my irish friend in phuket while we trained at Top Team and he said, dude i tell ya dagestani wrestlers are gonna dominate mma very soon and i knew it too because when we train with them they are absolute killers in sparring you need to be prepared for a war just for sparring

Glad he’s doing good as a coach. I was never a huge fan of his fighting style. And at the end he couldn’t take a punch. But it was effective and he became a world champion too and I will admit he is very charismatic
Just to give you some perspective, he was fighting killers and has some great names on his resume including Rampage, Gegard and Jiri. Unfortunately, age catches up to all of us and you eventually lose if you continue to fight high level fighters for a long enough period time. He probably should have retired after the Bader loss, but who are we to tell anyone what to do with their career?
