It has always been private land BUT the previous owner(s) had left it open to all to access and enjoy. The new owner has cut off access to all, only granting entry to a select few. That's life.
@@hestheMaster Thanks. I never doubted his friendliness simply based on the folks that volunteer to help with repairs. So Ross is not charging money for tours?
After watching this video and seeing Tecopa Mines channel I found Wonderhussy's channel. Neighbor of Ross ( the mines new owner). OMG what a firecracker of a gal. An exceptional vlogger. Nice lady with GREAT adventures and not just in Ross' mine. Subbed them both because they are great people to watch. Thank you Shango!
A lot of mine fires start with spontaneous combustion of old oily or greasy rags or paper. As a coal miner I have experience of a mine fire started in the caved in gouge after the longwall removes the coal seam. Oily rages spontaneously combusted igniting left behind the gob coal, then spread up to the coal seam's cutting face where it roared down and ahead of the cutting face igniting all of the support timbers and cribbing. We had to seal off the entire long wall without being able to retrieve any equipment of the longwall. Spontaneous combustion could have been the cause of the fire in this mine that is being explored.
Sorry that I don't know a lot about mines, but did the fire escalate because of the amount of wood in the mine? If so the burned props could more than likely be the cause of this collapse. Better you than me being in this part of the mine, this collapse mighr not be the last one in this section of the mine. many years ago I went with a few friends and the mine owners of the Box sandstone mines, these were used in the building of Bath here in the UK. Their was no props or anything holding the shapts up with the tunnels being bored through sandstone. The only collapse we found was where the airshafts led up to the surface. It was an amazing afternoon out. Some of the cranes and machinery is still in place, we found a restricted military storage area which had heavy gates stopping our entry.
Howdy Y'all, greetings from the Gold Hill mining district of southern Oregon⛏⚒⛏ Thanks' for sharing .... ~OG Rocker aka Jekyll the Hyde .... Happy Halloween! Stay Safe.
So is that bill walk-up from the explorers of the mojave desert page with you narrating? He sure has the same kind of accent. Perfect time of year for being out there at the moment I'd imagine.
Your smelling the soot that is on the walls. Would be curious to know, if y'all took the GPS coordinates and contact the US seismology department and see if they got any reading for the area..
Sad to see you are using a slow camera, when you pan left or right everything goes blury, you need a much higher frame rate camera or pan very slowly, I cant watch it as it is.
People complaining about access ... He owns it, it's private land!!!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦

"only granting entry to a select few. "...... Hardly Elmer but you go with that, whatever.....That's life........
You can email a request to see the mine. Ross ,the owner, will let you visit his mine and give you a tour. He is
actually a friendly guy.

It was really cool to hear the other folks with you, I can never hear them

Excellent to get an update on the area. once I had heard there were gates up and signage, I decided to be respectful and avoid the area. Now I know.
Thanks for the Halloween video treat! I'll be sure to stop by and say hello in person if you will be parked again by Mike's motorhome in a few days.
Great explore, that fire must have been big wow.

That place looks like a good candidate for Crépe Erase.

Deeper baby.
Cool thanks guys
9:22 That 50/50 soot line. Wow indeed.
So's that make it any "safer" orrrr... Hell maybe it exposed an unfound vein of the yella stuff??
Our children love Kermit, oh how they were disappointed!
Greetings from Cape Town. Might be an issue going down there, for those suffering from claustrophobic issues.
„if this happened suddenly, it wasn’t slow“
You‘re on the money. Sketchy situation with the heated stone.
How come walkie talkies work down there. - just curious? Or are they a different type of comms technology?

Its 30fps, I see the vibration, looks more like a function of low light image stabilization
