You are the first to suggest this method that I have seen, and the funny thing is that I have, in my learning process, been using your method all along, going counter to other instructors. I love realism and find that you are right about application of dark values before the mid tones. My most successful paintings have been the result of this process. Thank you for your video! I feel somewhat validated by it!
Oh wow that’s partially what I have been doing. But I’m understanding what I have been doing wrong with some of my painting. Thanks for sharing this wonderful information with us.
I would differ on one particular aspect which you pointed out as dry paper... Many watercolor artists make use of soft edges to achieve a high level of realism... In fact soft edges and controlled "bleeding " Are the essence of watercolor. For this they often use spray bottles to wet the surface with water.
This is such an interesting and fun method, and I'm impressed how you explain and demonstrate it so clearly in such a short video. Thank you! And I saw on your channel page that you offer many more promising videos that I definitely need to check out as well. Subscribed!
@NatureStudioTV hey yea your right! Do u think I should use a mechanical pencil? And lay it out first? Also I love your books ! When I'm done reading them I actually wrap your books in a cloth !
Greetings Anna Mason- I love your work I see here! Yes, it's odd isn't it: so many seem never to have heard of glazing... which is why all kids at school must be forced to do botanicals and be given proper watercolours for it. We can surely afford to bring up enlightened new generations. Except our education systemfinally died with the 1970s, making mine the last decently educated generation. Soapbox moment, sorry. ANYWAY: Love that opening phrase you threw out there: a Nature-connected Creative Life. Supercringe, yow! Delightful: you have exciting depths of satire- I'm a fan! And now to subscribe-

This is applicable to realistic drawing in pencil!
Yes, although it may need some tweaking as pencil is a different medium.
