I'm surprised that you did not mention the most critical thing in water color-the paper. Bad paper just won't allow beginners to have success! It is KEY!

Good quality 100% cotton paper makes a huge difference in how the paint flows and mixes. Good quality paints are also equally important I find.

She mentioned paper around number 4…

Anna began by saying good quality supplies are the most important. That would naturally include the paper.

That's so true!! I keep procrastinating because I don't like how the patient looks at the beginning stages and I feel not motivated. Thanks, Anna for this amazing motivational video.

As someone brand new to this art, I can already tell that these are indeed important. I put cheap paints to cheap paper and had decent results but my first painting had me going to the internet for answers. These are spot on what I am finding to be true. That artists like you give such useful information to us who are new to the art is so humbling. I am not quite ready to join you in mentorship by taking classes but it is coming! Thank you!

Hi Anna I love your first book, I've done all the paintings but I found I needed you to tell me which paint colour to use. Would you please put something up weekly? Also make another book helping to get the correct colour, also smaller paintings. And could you please make many more landscape paintings. Thank you 😊

It's a great practice for the very beginner. Then as you develop you will gain the skills to branch into your own drawings

All the old masters used drawing aids. I use a projector a lot. Not strictly tracing but speeds the drawing up a lot. Nothing to be ashamed of especially if it gets you painting quicker and that's what you really enjoy doing! Focus on the process :-)
