Great roof and ladder work, love it. That's what ladders are for:) I think you over did the safety gear, weather looked nice just wondering if shoes were really needed. I'll be doing the same next weekend.
Some comments: you really need some eye protection; those falling branches can quickly land on you. Also, the fine print says to use oil on the chain before every use. So, it's not oil-free. It just doesn't have an oil tank. Just spread a decent quality oil directly on the chain teeth. The extension has a lot of flex to it. I saw a couple of new poles at Home Depot where the extension had buckled even before use. Not very heavy duty material.
That’s fair. I should have worn glasses! The flex is definitely apparent when using it, but doesn’t make it unusable. I only this once or twice a year, so it’s a fair trade off for me.
Do you think this is a better option than the 10in and oil needed saw? I probably have more trees than you to cut and wondering how it fair against oak hard wood 🤔. Great video!
Oo. Fair question. I really like the oil free option just for maintenance sake. I was cutting an older tree obviously. Not sure on oak, but it really cut just fine. If you’re fine with the oiling I’d go with the 10”. But for me the oil free option cut strong enough. I cut another tree at my work (not sure what type) but that was thicker and cut it pretty good too. Just can’t have the branches be too thick since it’s only 8”. 🤷🏼
