I really hate the fact that my M1911 have tens of thousands vertices and complicated squares took hours to days and still look bad, but your gun modelling technique is very fast yet takes less vertices, squares and very detailed. You earned my subs. 👍
Hey man, first of all, youre obv very skilled at blender and this tutorial is brilliant My question is, at 0:55, my boolean leaves the slide hollow instead of full like yours, and filling the hole nets strange shading issues. Any help?
@@HolyHandGrenadeOfAntioch12 in the time between then and now i learned a few simple steps to have a good boolean every time: 1. Check normals, flip as necessary 2. Plug holes in mesh 3. Make sure both have same shading type 4. Move the boolean milimetre by milimetre in the positive direction till it runs right, it struggles to determine what to cut when two faces are touching
do i need hardops for this also the technique u are using to model can i use the same technique without hardops, iv manage to get upto 0:40 however when you beveled at 0:19 mine is off it has overlapping vertixs

Nice utilisation of boolen modifier.
Твой блокинг выглядит уже как законченная модель) Хотя этот этап считается больше как прикидывание форм, размеров
What a good technique to model why don't you do a course explaining the technique you use to fashion weapons..
Yo, amazing job; learned a lot
Beautiful polygon
@ 1:46 how did you make these verticies straight like that?
Press the S key to select the scale command, then press z to scale along the Z axis. Next, press the 0 key to make all planes equal.
@@GAMEWEAPONS thannk you
How do u inverse bevel at the beginning?
in bevel mode press "P" key
@@GAMEWEAPONS thanks
Could you please tell me how you trim the polygons?
Boxcutter is very underrated..
wow... I've just realised how actually terrible my guns are. a lot of the techniques in this are completely alien to me

Idk if you have hard ops or not,but in general bools can be kinda autistic as far as that and shading

@@PyubX yeah, and that can be really helpful for some cases, but I recommend using looptools for a lot of things, if you’re not already. Cheers, mate
I just realized you didnt model the grooves the safety is supposed to slide into

0:19 is simply a bevel reversal. 0:40 you can use modifier "Mirror" for this case, Hard ops only helps you to manipulate faster.
@@GAMEWEAPONS ok thanks bro
@@GAMEWEAPONS one last question do you use normal auto smooth to make the areas you want to be smoothed and the bevel modifier
@@GAMEWEAPONS what about the other addons you are using i dont need them right?
Good job.!
Would you share your PureRef file? I would like model this gun as well and your collection of reference photos and pictures is huge.
Oh. sorry, i deleted all the reference when I finished the model
what kind of program do you use to save references?
I use "PureRef"
sorry to bother you but what are you doing at 0:58
Auto smooth set to 30 in an addon called HardOps
Is there any way we can contact you?
you can contact me via email: 3dcgtuts@gmail.com
Am I the only one that gets whacky shading errors when smooth shading this process?
Been trying to learn blender for over a month now. Every project I start I end up with weird shading issues. I cant figure out how to fix.
how u do the bevel around 0:19 I can't do like that help me
