Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan is a legendary sitarist and the torch-bearer of the Imdadkhani Gharana, also known as Etawah Gharana of Indian classical music. His style successfully combines tantrakari and gayaki angas, both being striking features of the Etawah Gharana.
In the maiden Bengal Classical Music Festival 2012, Dhaka, Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan performed Raag Bageshree and captivated the audience with fine bol vistar and taankari and melodious jod and jhala. Apt table accompaniment by Pt Yogesh Samsi added much depth to the performance.
Raag : Bageshree
Tabla : Pt Yogesh Samsi

Absolutey surreal.
Shahid parveez is just a gem in indian music ..! His bageshree bhimplasi and darbari hits all together in new way..!!
Definitely listening to Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan live, makes it less burdensome to the fact that we didn't hear ustad Vilayet khan saheb , Pandit Nikhil Benarjee or Pandit Ravi Shankarji live. How gracefully he is carrying on the Enayetkhani Baaz!
Listened to one of videos while he was playing Kirwani, that hitting of each note should be - "golion ki tarah honi chahiye". Shahidji does that everytime he plays. Each of his notes are like bullets shooting on the right point! This clarity is very rare these days.
I heard Ustadji playing Raga Bageshree at the Sitar Festival 2023 GD Birla.... I literally have no words to express my feelings ...
Shahid bhai ka andaaz buzurgon s jaaker milta hai Allah inki umar daraz Kere
Very nice . Aap ki shailee dil jeet lene wali hai . Namaskar .

Thanks, Bengal Foundation. I know Bengalis are good musicians. They contributed a lot to the Indian subcontinent, the world. I just wonder if they understand that they're the gems! His name suggests, he's Arab or Pakistani! Or is it he's Bengali like Khan, Banerjee, Shankar?

Mentioned nothing about Shahid Pervez's Bangladeshi backdrop.
Surprise! His name suggests he's Arab or Pakistani! I checked it from his website but didn't find anything. Please add more here. Thanks.
