Excellent. It takes decades of practice and contemplation to produce something like this.
I can't think of a better recital of Raag Bihag on the sitar. A jugalbandi of the voice and the six strings. The genius of Ustad Shahid Parvez will be ever remembered by every Indian
This is good. But If you can't think better then listen bihag by Ustad Vilayat Kahn and Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee

@@spaceymen should I provide the links here? I don't think this will be a good, because I respect Ustad Shahid parvez too. But I can mention. Please listen the BBC proms and DD bangla recordings of Bihag by Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee and any bihag of Ustad Vilayat Khan.
@@kitgang I vaguely, albeit not too surely, guessed, you'd mention those exactly, thank you for those. I have infact listened to those particular performances multiple times already, but I still think there's one rendition of Bihag by Ustad Shahid Parvez (not this one) which surpasses all of them, at least for me. In my heart and my mind, that one still dwarfs almost all other instrumental performances of Bihag, the emotional strike of it is unmatched. I might be a bit biased here, I'm sorry about that.

There is another recording of USP - from the National program of Music - where he played an unforgettable alaap of Bihag .
This will remain as an unforgettable rendition of Raag Bihag.
It’s wonderful to see Ustadji enjoying himself so much; it’s why he can bless us with this level of music . It’s like hearing Bihag for the first time. Great accompaniment by Sabri ji as well. Thanks to the hosts for creating such a great environment - it makes a huge difference.
I have long studied and played Sarode. Ustadji inspires me so much, clear, deliberate gorgeous portrayal of each Raag. I love his playing.

Gâyakî, or singing sitâr: no twang. (I heard somewhere it's because the wide bridge has been filed convex so that the pressure of the string is even.)
