    First of all... you're spot on with your analysis of this product. I bought this on EBAY about 6 months ago. I got 5 months of service out of it and noticed it started to "deteriorate" last month. It wasn't holding it's charge and when I came home last week I heard a high pitch grinding noise coming from my patio. The unit had turned on automatically and was running into the wall. I smelled burning electrical wiring and immediately unplugged it. It kept on running...!!!!! I put it in the pool and it cleaned for about 20 minutes . I went to plug it back into the charger and it came back on immediately and would not shut off.

    Mine worked twice, then stopped while in the water. Just sat there for 40 mins. I finally pulled it out of the pool and it was buzzing . Thats it! Just buzzing and wheels not moving. Tried letting g it sit and it randomly would stop and start buzzing on its own. Very nervous about using raise thing. I plugged it for stood or up on its end and thre thing is still buzzing even though the battery is supposed to be dead. I'm glad I found this video. It answered alot of my concerns.. so sad

  • @docgiggles130
    @docgiggles130 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Do not put it back in the water! The batteries react to water! It will burn when water hits it.
    Never buy no-name pool cleaners. It's not worth the money no matter how cheap they are. Get one that connects to the pool pump (via a hose that goes into the strainer) like a Hayward brand unit. They don't use batteries and use the suction from the pump to make it move.

    Ours works great. Awesome addition to an in floor cleaning system. It gets those areas the infloor system doesn't get and is awesome with the leaves and fine grit material when you use the filter. Have had over a year and run 3x week and have had no issues.
    You must have got a lemon which stinks and is an inconvenience. But even the best electronics have a failure rate out of the box. Just take it back and get your money back or exchange.
    If concerned with transporting to Sams. Give em a call and ask them to advise on how they want to resolve.

    I bought this from Sam’s about a year ago and have had zero problems. I put it in my pool 5 times a week and it runs for 4 hours, longer than the manual says mind you. I’ve forgotten to take it out of the pool and left overnight a few times, which the manual does not recommend. Maybe I maintain my pool well enough that makes this work properly. It is not made for pools with massive amounts of debris .

    China! The best pool robot cleaners are the ones with hoses that plug into the filter baskets on the side for suction and then they have a hose plugging into the other side of the pool pump for spraying debris around under water . They last forever you can put them in there's no batteries there's no electricity and they work really well.

  • @JeffN4POD
    @JeffN4POD 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Go to the pool supply store and get one of the robots that run solely off of the skimmer port. They do much better than that one and have no electronics. They've been around literally for decades and work fairly well. Also, you might want to report that to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

    Whoever sells it assumes liability for it's malfunction and damage caused, if it was used properly. Sam's should know better than to buy unbranded generic Chinese junk, especially something electronic that goes underwater. You have a winnable case against whoever you bought the pool cleaner from, or the brand if it's branded. But you'll likely have better chance of actually seeing $$$ by suing whoever you bought it from.

My girlfriend saids they over work the people in china and they get paid very little. these chinese companies will make a bad batch promote it and sell it to the us market, see how many units they can sell until they pull it off the shelf. So they don't care as long as they make money that all they care about. Same with some of these cheap cars today. I would be aware of what you purchase these days.
