Saved this till this morning, Best wishes to Peter, seen his media photos of his personal challenges ahead after the devastation. Great to see the auction and after he assisted with donating a Uke for your auction for Maui, so good of you guys to auction the ukes to assist. Wowser to 100#, never seen a “The Tree”neck on a Ukulele before. Great pod cast as normal, with great community at its heart. I have seen the photos of the Oli Spruce Merbau. Tenor, Man that is plucking my heart strings, love its sound and looks. You guys have a great week.
@33:00 Kamaka pay careful attention not only to brace wood selection but to SHAPE. Not just scalloping for weight but height and thickness etc. But in a documentary I saw dude carefully rounding the corners of the bracing. This made me think of how distortion is created in amps by the clipping of the soundwave...right angled clipping in digital amps is a much harsher sound (esp in overtones) than the rounded analog clipping that occurs in tube amps. Could this be related in terms of acoustic wave physics?..could the rounding of the braces be 'smoother' for intersecting wave patterns?
Serious Question: In your late night introduction to the new torrefied spruce l2 line you mentioned that 'Oli won't be doing the faceplate inlays that they are becoming well known for.....? Will the new line have the faceplate inlays?
We will always do inlays but most of them will change with different batches. A lot on the next shipment have no inlay for people that like a more simple look.
Andrew had the forethought to include the bracing type in the model name. But then Oli ended up having two versions of lattice bracing which might affect the model names. 🙂 Any estimate of when the next shipment of Olis with the upgraded bracing, L1 cedar/acacia, new headstocks will arrive?
Great support of the community very kind of to do this for cornerstone.
Mahalo!
Both are virtuosos on excellent instruments. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Love the Spanish improvisation on the Torrified Spruce instruments, and the tone of the instruments!
Man, that first 'Oli Tenor is incredible
I watch your podcast over a few days to make it last. Corey's arrangement of "Close To You" was beautiful.

Awesome stuff guys.
Bygone Days from Porco Rosso? Thanks for playing it, guys. Y'all are the best!
Great to hear Corey and Kalei play the 'Oli ukuleles, no offence Andrew! I seriously want a mango concert!
WOW! I had to lower the volume when the 'Olis showed. Powerful sound.
ahhh they were probably playing louder too with a more dynamic jam, but they are.
❤❤❤
I will gladly take the bracing 2 uke off of your hands😉🤣
#2 sounds like it has more of what the Brits call chang a lang. To me #1 sounds rounder and warmer. Both have a lot of good volume.
Will you be demoing the Kremona pickup system in the future?

That's all true. The shape of our braces, depending where it is, ranges from rounded to more of a parabola.
When can I buy the torrefied spruce baritone?
PS...love you guys
Aloha
call or email the shop!! go get em!!!
. Do they not list on The Uke Site?
@JACK_TheAllSeeingEye they will, but you might be able to beat em to it! 😏 of course you can wait and just keep checking the site.

Bracing 2 is thinner top or bracing 1?
Yeah bracing 2 has a thinner top and taller bracing. What'd you like Ritesh?
@@HawaiiMusicSupplyTUS will listen with good headphones and report back, right now on my phone
Bracing 1 for mornings and faster pieces. Bracing 2 for night and slower pieces
@@riteshshukla2583 I could see that
Mango Concert 1 or 2???
I knew which concert I wanted to go with.
