I will be having my first jazz studies audition tomorrow. Wish me luck :)
Edit.: I failed but I am trying again to other conservatoires
We are all rooting for you! Thank you for watching.
Hi man, di u get into any other conservatory or college. And can you pls describe how the audition was. Did you do well in 1st round and sight reading, theory? And what instrument did you play?
@@vishwajeetbabbar7622 hey man, that was 4 years ago. I live in London so I applied to study at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, which is one of the best conservatoires for jazz in the UK. As mentioned before I failed first time but got in the second time one year later. I am a jazz double bass player. Even though there was a sight reading test, they told me it wasn’t a big deal at all if I couldn’t read (which I couldn’t). They care about good timing, clear lines and good musicianship. They provided me with a very good rhythm section to play with. I played Confirmation and Lady Be Good, and also one of my original compositions. Make sure you give clear instructions to the rest of the band as to what you want from them, the panel really appreciates that. At the end of the day, you don’t have to be a genius, they just need to see potential in you.
Good luck
