Copts aren’t facing persecution in Egypt, actually Muslims and Christians treat each other here aside from the religion very good specially if you compare them to other religious minorities how they being treated around the world, because we see them as partners in the country as definitely alot of our ancestors were Copts thats why coptic means originally Egyptian, you should get your facts checked before throwing accusations

Trying to sugarcoat the wrongs committed by muslim radicals against Coptic Christians in Egypt 🇪🇬. The world knows that since August 2013, there has been violent attacks on Churches in Egypt. Attackers torched and looted several Churches across the country. The world knows that in Egypt it is okay for a Christian to convert to Islam, but when a Muslim converts to Christianity, they face persecution. You're absolutely the one who needs to check facts before trying to lie and sugarcoat things. The world is not blind, the world knows about these things.

Everywhere you go in Cairo there’s a church, and some Christians here are very rich, and intelligent. It is the poor in Egypt that gets mistreated, whatever their religion. Also those ‘church bombings’ you hear about, my Orthodox friends here told me that it’s a government conspiracy to cause tensions between Muslims and Christians.

Hiya! Just wanted to give some more insight on our theology on the nature of Christ just in case anyone was wondering. We were misunderstood at the council of Chalcedon and accused of being heretics/Monophysites and this is why early documents say we are monophysites. Monophysitism merged Christ’s humanity with His divinity and as a result He only had one, divine nature. This is NOT what we believe. We believe that Christ is fully human and fully divine, the two natures united together without mingling, without confusion, and without alteration; his divinity parting not from his humanity, not for a single moment nor twinkling of an eye. As a result, we are actually miaphysites.
In the recent decades, our church has had discussions with the Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox (after centuries of separation) and we have found that we do believe in the same Christology and that the schism at Chalcedon, for the most part, was due to a misunderstanding (and also politics lol).

Just for clarification, in point 7: We (the coptic church) don't believe that both God and man have a role in salvation. That is not true, we believe that Salvation is the work of God through Jesus Christ only as stated in Ephesians 2:8. The only role that man plays in this is to accept God's grace. The praying, fasting and sacraments...etc. are just a reflection of that faith. Just as the sign of your faith and accepting God is through baptism as a first step so does all the other practices. But we don't believe that you have to do that to be saved. You do it as a result of being saved. Thanks

Egyptians (Muslims and Christians) are descended primarily from Ancient Egyptians. For thousands of years, waves of people had migrated to Egypt and became assimilated into Egyptian population. Egyptian Muslims generally embraced Arab identity due to Islam and Arabic language. Egyptian Christians or Copts themselves also embraced many aspects of Arab culture but never identified themselves as Arabs. There is a misconception that the Copts are generically pure and never intermarried with Arabs. This is of course untrue. Although Copts practice endogamy, they do married outsiders as long as they are Christians. The second religion of the Arabs after Islam is Christianity and many Arab clans and tribe had been Christians for generations prior to the emergence of Islam. Many Arab Christians migrated and settled in Egypt and intermarried into Coptic communities. There might be some Muslim Arabs who converted into Christianity prior to intermarried into Coptic communities. Coptic Christians do have some Arab genetic markers through intermarried with Arab Christians.

Thank you for making this wonderful and informative video. To much of the world has no idea who the Coptics even are. Let alone they are the founders of Christianity as well as the descendants of the Pharaoh, and therefore the last preservers of the ancient Egyptians' culture. This video goes through a lot of materials in a well presented summary. The English speaking world, has been given minimal and somewhat inaccurate information about to much of the rich cultures, such as The Coptics. Bringing this cultural wealth of one of the most persecuted groups throughout history through modern times, is a treasure the world deserves.
That said, there's a couple mentions that could use some further clarification to be received as accurate, and some additions that are worth extending on. Hopefully, there will be useful links added to the description and of course, in the comments. ha ha.
(There's many who are far more knowledgeable than I am, on this topic, but here's a step towards accuracy at least) In the video there's mention, the Coptics are "one of the earliest groups of Christians". I believe they are now accepted to be on record, "the earliest" group of Christians. I believe this is now undisputed? Also, The Roman Catholic Church, is who is adjusting their accounts. The mention that Christianity was "founded" in 40(something) AD, in Egypt, is only somewhat accurate, based on the definition of "founded". It's likely that by the date it was considered founded, there was already a significant following, that had been building over many years. What's significant to point out though, was that Christianity is suspected to actually be on record as having "started" in more like, 10-11 AD in Egypt. Which very well, could have been while The Christ was still walking in incarnate as the living breathing man. This one point, may be the significant difference between the later Christians' beliefs, modern English speaking religious historians, and the ancient to modern Coptic beliefs about the reality of the life of Christ.
What is also significant, is the Coptics believe the baby Christ's family came to Egypt, where they were blessed by the Pharaohnic teachings, and Egypt was blessed by the incarnate of the holy family, etc. They also have offered much evidence for external evaluation and measure. Although some artifacts are challenging to authenticate, there's other groups' and cultures' records and accounts of specific details, that match the Coptics' own. There has only been approx 111 Coptic (popes) since the life of Christ. So that's not as many records to go missing, nor have much missing.
Which is much appreciated, this video points out the difference in Coptic beliefs about Jesus, from other later formed Christian faiths in other regions of the world... Which, is relating to Coptics' different beliefs around the nature of the incarnation of Christ. The differences are a lengthy topic in itself... yet I suspect individual's personal connections and relationships to Christ, are only made stronger, from such speculations. So, may be a worthwhile topic for any sect of Christians.

We are definitely not Monophysite. We are 100% miaphysites as explained by early church Father St Cyril of Alexandria.
In fact, we condemn the heresy of Monophysitism by Eutechys.
I know most people confise the two but it is worth noting they arw not the same.
Also, although we believe in synergism. Our entire salvation is only through the Grace of God alone. Our works are done, not as an act towards our salvation, but as an act of Love for God. Nothing we do can attain our salvation.

      2. It has light
      3. It has heat
But all of These are one Thing and that's the sun
      Same thing
There is father and son and holy spirit all of them are 1 they didn't separate 1 sec or a blink of an eye.
      Even you as a person
You're a Body you have a mind you have a spirit
I can't talk to you without your body
I can't talk to you without your spirit because you will be dead
I can't talk to you without your mind because you won't understand me

Hi Leroy, you forgot to mention that their bible has 81 books, 8books more than the Catholics, and 15 books more than the protestants.

Where did you get this information from? The Coptic church uses the same Bible as the Catholics. The protestants acknowledge the books gathered by Ezra the profit only. they are called the "protokanonica", i.e the first legal books. The Copts and Catholics acknowledge the books that were gathered after the death of Ezra. They are called "Deutrokanonika" i.e the second legal books. They are 9 books .
