I always loved that Draco only went over because he’s mother called for him, the one person that had loved him and protected him.. so he couldn’t abandon her as she called for him.
Yea, in the end if you would look at it black and white he might have had A choice but if you stop for a second to think he never had a choice that was possible to actually choose.. Draco had a choice to leave everything he knew, the father he wanted to please so badly, the mother who loved him and who he loved as well, the people and the place he had, that he knew.. he would be alone, with no one because even if he did chose the right side everyone would still see him as the mean bully and deatheater, now you’ll might be able to do that but honestly I would never be able to do anything like that.. So yes Draco had a choice but did he really? I know many will say that he didn’t NEED to be mean to everyone, to that I say how the fuc do you know? Also have you never heard that the one who is the meanest and bullies others the most is the one who was ones bullied/ is scared to be bullied and needs love and friendship the most? And did you ever notice how he was just a kid, how he should have had time to grow up and to mature? Something that he didn’t have before he had to choose a side, the side where he was wanted and where his family was, or the one where he would be hated and he had no one? Which one would YOU choose? I know my answer and maybe that makes me a villain but then at lest I’m being real with my self..
The Memory We Will Never Forget To all draco hater this is the right quote to know that draco is not a bad person Hope this comment reminde u And Hannah Diane very loyal quote
in the scene where his parents ask him to come over it’s like he’s looking for someone to ask him to stay. he feels as if no one wants him so he goes to the dark side. his whole life he pushed people away by being mean bc he didn’t know what love was. not to mention he felt like he had no choice. he watched harry throughout the years have so many friends and be the chosen one. for once he just wanted to be chosen and of importance. it makes me wonder if someone showed him kindness if he would have changed. he never had real friends who cared and his father from a young age belittled him. he felt like he had nothing to lose.
I really like your comment. Amazing how this story makes so many people around the world discuss about good and bad and think about how to be a better person and change your perspective.
he was never given a chance to be on the other side. of course he would go to the only person who showed his some type of affection (his mother) cuz she was all he had. and even then he hesitated, because he knew. he knew that it wasn’t the right side, and he was clearly willing to defy his mother if someone had asked him to. but no one did. i don’t even know if it would’ve been worth it to stay, to loose the only person who cared, just to be on the right side. because no one else truly liked him, so who would he have had(probably no one)??
No he wasn't a good person. He just wasn't evil. Don't get me wrong, he's my 2nd fave character, but in my opinion he was not a good person. But he wasn't evil either.
Yes he was. Okay he was a bully and he bullied others but what do you expect from a kid who has never had control over his own life? Who was always told to do things a child should never? Imagine yourself in his shoes then you would that he was good but was taught that evil was good
0:51 Imagine how differently that scene could have turned out if Harry had asked Draco if he was okay (which obviously he wasn’t) instead of starting an argument with him
"as kids, we loved heroes." "as adults, we understood villains." edit: firstly, thanks for all the likes love yall secondly, yall in the comments really cant accept a single phrase, "he was never a villian," "im a kid and i understand him." Can yall just learn to accept a quote as it is please?
Here is explaining Draco’s life. As a child he had a smile on his face. Even if it was from making fun of people. You could tell he was happy in the first movie. In the second movie, he was slightly worse. His father seemed to neglect him and his father never loved him. He was disappointed in him for almost dying after falling off the broom. But once he became a teenager- his smile vanished. He became more broken than ever. He wanted to cry every moment. He did not want to hurt anyone. You could see how he was watching Harry his whole life. You could tell he was jelous of his friendships. Draco only had Crabbe and Goyle/ Goyle and Blaise- who were never true real friends. His whole life he had no one. When he was younger he would play with Dobby secretly in his room. Are you wondering how dobby knew so much about him when he had never gone anywhere but the Manor? Who do you think told him everything. But then when dobby left he was alone again. His whole life he didn’t want to be bad. When his parents called him over- you could tell he was waiting for someone to grab his hand and tell him to stop. He had no choice. He had no where else to go. As an adult he was still broken inside. Especially after losing Astoria and almost losing Scorpius. His whole life he wished wasnt real. One scene he was standing on top of the astronomy tower looking down- thinking about committing. He didn’t want any of this. He. Deserved. Better.
(Please someone reply because I need to see where you Draco defenders come from) Please tell me people don’t actually try to defend Draco 🤨 I’m on a re-read of the books and I literally forgot just how nasty he was. He calls people slurs, fat shames people, poor shames people, wishes death upon Hermione multiple times, calls Neville pathetic over and over again and so much more horrible things. Yes he is a boy who was kinda used by old voldy but he was a terrible person before that. He’s a realistic character thought. When people are brought up by horrible people they become horrible. But You cant justify every mean person by saying “their family is mean” because that would cancel out every bad person ever. I also hear people saying he was abused which is wrong on so many levels. His dad spoiled him and his mother loved him to pieces. Lucius was a bit hard on him but he loved him Draco wasn’t evil. He was just a bully and a whiny spoiled kid who had a deep hatred of the golden trio. In the movies he is a semi likable character and if you only watch them I kinda could see where Draco defenders come from but as someone who HATES the movies and adores the books I have to say there is no denying that Draco was a bully
@@lucycoyne2731 we are talking about the movie not the books, there are scenes that are different from each other. and we all have different opinions/perspective. as someone who grew up in a toxic household, i was taught that i should always be the number 1. when i was younger i always look down on people thinking im the best because that's what my grandparents said to me. i once cheated on a test because i was afraid that if i fail my family will dump me. why? because they were never proud of me,, theyre only happy if i get the top spot, and thats it. i relate to draco so much that's why im defending him. i had a choice (to change my mind) because im an ordinary girl, but draco didnt have a choice. i have many things which he didnt have that's why i pity him more. draco was a kid, and ofc he will depend on his family. but the thing is his family is pretty toxic,, which affected him in many ways. he was hoping that someone would tell him to stay,, but no one did so he chose his mother (the one who gave him a little affection). he was confused for his whole life.
and even bullies have a reason. maybe they didnt receive the attention they should have received or maybe they're jealous of them. i agree that it's wrong though. but i just want to tell you that it's hard to change your mindset esp if you're taught to live that way since zero years old. it's not easy to turn your back to your family because you have nowhere else to go. draco was confused and scared. he has his own reasons that we dont know. jk rowling wanted him to look like the bad guy in the movie and that's exactly what happened.
Everyone’s talking about how he changed sides, he didn’t. He went to his family, not the death eaters, not Voldemort, his mother. He didn’t fight, he left, with her.
Actually even in the movies they shot a scene where he passes his wand to Harry so that Harry can duel with voldemort and the scene didn’t make the cut
I’ve always wanted to read an alternate version of this series that is told through Draco’s point of view. I feel like we never really got a true deep dive into his character, and it would be interesting to really see how he developed through all 7 books.
But you did this for what? It means sense, just in my memory I have such a strong feeling of remembering this but it’s probably because I saw the deleted scene somewhere and my brain thinks we read it
Luna does look like she wants to do something, too. And McGonagall, though the professor I think understood that his mother was calling him out of harm's way more than calling him back to the dark side. But she definitely looks concerned for him.
Harry: The boy who lived Draco:The boy who had no choice Ron:The boy that loved Hermione:The girl that knew Neville:The boy who inspired Luna:The girl who believed Snape:The man who protected Lily: The woman who saved Voldemort: The man who didn't know love.
it will be boring in the first 5 years, will be a story of bully with daddy issues, that by the way we don't really know what his father did to him, ihe was just afraid of him like most people and on the other hand half a book would be about Draco making people's lives impossible without any cause
@@sofiaquevedo9913 I know what you mean, but I still think it would be quite interesting to see what was going on in his mind and know about his history and stuff
Emma Watson actually said in one of the movies ( can't remember which on maybe half blood), Tom actually had a really hard script even though it wasn't a huge part but it was a main section of the films as he had to show so many different emotions to show how conflicted Draco was. It's really incredible.
Also another thing i've sort of thought about it when he walks over to voldemort. He waits for someone to stop him but no one did, not even the teachers knew how conflicted he was. It honestly hurts.
Harry was never really the victim, he had people to help him, friends who cared about him, and even if his real parent died, he always had people by his side. Draco never had a life of his own. He was forced into every decision. Thrown around, and made to do things no child should ever have to face. His own parents controlled him and never allowed him the freedom to choose. His father was manipulative and abusive. Draco may be a bully, but what do you expect a child to do when they're not even in control of their own life Edit: the above point was a bit exaggerated. I know Harry has been through a lot as well, it's just the fact that Draco's issues go unnoticed and many fans hate him for who he was forced to be Edit 2: SORRY GUYS I know that my comment was very biased for Draco's side. Just because Draco went through a lot of things that went unnoticed, Harry's shouldn't matter. Harry and Draco both went through a lot in their lifetimes, so did other characters we aren't talking about. They were both victims, just in different ways. I'm sorry for my biased argument (I may have been a little emotional for Draco at the time)
@@owkay_1 that's right, but Draco would've stopped it somehow. Harry would've been someone for Draco to lean on and show the emotional support his parents denied him.
WHOMST'D, you might be right, but you still can’t blame Harry. Draco was being judgemental and if Harry had shook his hand, it would have validated Draco’s actions/words. And not just validate them to Draco, but to the whole class watching them. Harry not shaking Draco’s hand was a positive influence on the class as a whole. That’s my opinion anyway.
“I am the chosen one!” “And I am the broken one, the boy who has no choice. How many times have you picked the winning side because it was just so easy for you? Hundreds of times, I bet. Because you, Potter, you have never known how it feels to be torn apart. You don’t know how it feels to not know what side you will be on in the coming day, to know how it feels to be torn and broken and chained by a mark. You have always had the choice-and I have always been the one who had no choice.” EDIT: not bringing harry down here-just writing this in draco’s point of view, and in draco’s point of view, harry has always been in the spotlight. but we all know that harry has gone through so, so much and given up many things, including his own life, to defeat voldemort. it’s just that draco doesn’t fully know harry’s story, so this quote, in his point of view, was valid.
That’s what I was thinking. Throughout the years everyone thought that Draco did this for himself, but that battle everyone saw he didn’t have a choice he was being forced and he was just a kid he couldn’t fight it. I wish one person would of grabbed Draco and not let him be hurt anymore
@@LJohnsonnn same here Luna was like right behind him and she out of everyone seemed to have the biggest heart. This being said I wish she would have like grabbed his arm or something to talk him away from going to the other side but as we all know no one stoped him.
@@jamiedavis4033 It was better that he wasn't stopped tbh because if he stayed then Voldemort would most try to harm him and would probably succeed moreover his mom called him because she was sure that Harry would defeat Voldemort and as a mom she definitely didn't want her son to witness all of that.
How many people even knew Lucius was a death eater? Let alone his mother They pity him, but they wouldn’t stop him, because it’s safest for him, and Narcissa shows genuine care for her son
Draco was never evil, he was forced to be something he isnt. If you take the incident with Dumbeldore: draco was lowering his wand when Snape came out of nowhere with other death eaters. Draco was crying over how much pressure he was under and seeing Katie Bell triggered that. Harry, instead of seeing Draco's side, jumped to conclusions thinking Draco wanted Katie dead. The only reason Draco took that mark was so he and his mother could live Draco only went over to the Death Eaters at the end because his mother called him. Draco looked away at his father's request but when his mother asked he went over. Draco didn't tell Bellatrix that it was Harry when he clearly knew it was. He wanted an escape but knew he never had one because of the way everyone saw him. Nobody even considered that maybe Draco didn't want the mark, maybe he was forced, maybe he didn't want it but Voldemort was living in his house! How could he say no without an escape option!? Harry's story doesn't really effect me as much as Draco's. Harry had a lot of people who loved him and Draco had no one, he had love off his mother but, how much can you love your child if you let them join the Dark Side and not fight? I'm not saying Harry's story isn't sad, it is, I'm saying that in my opinion, Draco's is worse. Neville's story is even sader than Harry's too, in my opinion. Although his parents aren't dead, I think it would hurt more them being alive and never being able to remember them and them basically not being alive.
@BRENDA APARECIDA DE LIMA TOMONAGA check your grammar And he was a bully and I agree he was idiotic stupid and cruel as a child. He thought those thoughts because they were put there by his parents who were probably constantly saying "we're so much better then *insert muggle born here" because our blood is pure" or something like that so that's why he thought that as he got older I think his opinions change. I think a lot of the things he said and did was because his father has the dark mark and was a supporter of Voldemort he was evil and made Draco evil when it wasn't who Draco was. He was forced to believe in Voldemort doing the right thing and stuff and had no control over his own life so any bit of freedom he got, he embraced - in the wrong way. Acting mean to look cool and stuff which doesn't make it ok but you gotta feel sorry for the poor kid. He was no where near a villain but he kind of was hero. Draco faced stuff a kid shouldn't be and he handled it alright. Like no where near perfect but he was somewhat put together, mean but wasn't constantly crying or breaking down either considering he knew voldie was going to come back and literally kill so many people and he could do nothing to stop it. A lot of people don't like him and I get it but he isn't the bad character ppl always think he is
You notice the expression on his face when his parents *MAKE* him join the dark side!?! It was obvious he didn't want to. He just had no choice... (Omg y'all how tf did i get this many likes ?)
FirstName Lastname i agree. they joined him bc all the other rich purebloods did but then they got roped too far in and they were like no i am gonna leave
Sirius went through the same things. What is the difference, though? He was good. He did whatever it took to stay on the good side. Draco, however, went to the bad side without ease. They went through the same things, but one was good and the other was bad. Tsk. I hate when everyone forgets Sirius.
it would have been so o of character for draco. he chose to be a death eater. everything he did was to save himself and his family. he would have never betrayed voldemort bc he wouldn’t risk himself or his parents dying
@@elizabethwalterss he didn’t CHOOSE to be a Death Eater. He was FORCED. He was “The Chosen One”. Your point is dead wrong. You might have to watch them all again cuz what you just said makes no friggin sense.
@@lukebappo he did choose to be a death eater. he was bragging about it on the train to hogwarts. yes, he did have an "impossible decision" when it came to killing dumbledore or letting himself and his family die, but he had a choice to become a death eater. he talks about it in the book on the train to hogwarts during half-blood prince. so don't tell me my point is "dead wrong" and "makes no friggin sense" when it's literally canon.
His mother loved him and deep inside did not want that draco shud join the dark side But she had to becoz of her family status and eventually lead draco to join the dark side Tbh Draco really had no choice Ik he was a jerk in first 3 movies but after that we got to know from his side too I think he bullied people just bcz his father will be happy ( coz he always said that my father will hear about this ........That means his father always had a eye/spy on him)
In the scene where his parents call him, Draco's expression remains defiant when his father beckons. Upon hearing his mother's calls, though, he softens. Then, when his mother leads him away, his father attempts to put his arm around him too. Draco dodges and you see a certain resentment in his father's eyes. Hard to believe this was just acting.
So basically Draco is only mean and cruel is because he doesn't want to look like a disappointment to his family and he wants his family to be proud of something he is not. Draco is trapped under his family's expectations and rules, he just wants to be free and happy like everyone else. He wants to be nice and good. For the first few times when I watched all Harry Potter movies, I hated Draco Malfoy because I never realised the real truth about his life. And then once I started to realise, he is becoming my favourite character because I understand him and because he is just a boy who wants to be normal like everyone else in Hogwarts. I can see his pain and I know that he is NOT alone..

Can we talk about the bathroom scene tho (toilet bathroom same thing) Like Draco is crying, hes clearly having an anxiety attack and Harry's just putting more stress on him like-- >:(
''Don't you understand'' no one understood him, he was forced to be the bad guy: he was trained for it until he started to realize.. He had no choice. There was a reason for his actions
@~Ophelia~ first of all we are talking about death eaters so obviously voldemort would be involved. Every year they found a way to enter the Hogwarts, one way or another. And secondly his whole family is of death eaters, he also have to go back home during holidays And also even if they were behind Harry from years before, they still were able to attack him in Hogwarts That doesn't mean anything, if they can enter to attack Harry they could enter to attack Draco

Draco Malfoy: The boy who didn’t have a choice. Nobody was there for him when he needed them the most. Nobody helped him through the times that were difficult. His enemy was himself. He never got to choose his own path or choices. He was thrown around like a marionette. His father was manipulative and abusive. His mother never helped him. Dumbledore knew. He knew he was struggling. But no. He didn’t help him. He could’ve helped. Helped him through his hard times. But he didn’t. He let him suffer. Nobody else cared, either. He was easy to blame because he was a Slytherin. Becoming a Death Eater was bound to happen because of his parents. He tried to carve it out of his skin MULTIPLE TIMES. He got hurt. He watched death. He stood through it all. He did what he did, for example about to kill Dumbledore, for the protection of his parents. He was the boy who didn’t have a choice to make the right choices. He was forced for the wrong ones. He was the boy who didn’t have a choice. Sorry I’m ranting.
I can tell that Draco is sad seeing his school destroyed, I can tell he doesn’t really want to do this, I can tell he’s shocked when Dumbledore fell from the astronomy tower, But he did this for his family, Because of Love.
Draco was actually raised in a very strict family, but he still loves his family, and a part of him is at Hogwarts,I know he loves his school,I know he never showed any emotion towards dumbledore, you can tell by his face he’s kind of sad that dumbledore left because it’s his headmaster ever since he was eleven.he still loves his family because he didn’t want any harm for them,so it’s right to say he had no choice, but he also did this for the sake of his family
Draco is such an underrated character. He deserved a much bigger storyline and I think we should have seen more of him. He is such a tortured soul and he really only needs someone to love him. I think deep down he is a good person, he was just around the wrong people that influenced and manipulated him.
Unpopular opinion: Draco Malfoy is my favorite character in hp Edit; for everyone saying this opinion is popular it’s not to the people around me who like Harry Potter so I’m didn’t think a lot of people liked him

Draco deserved so much better. It was as he was waiting for someone to tell him “don’t go”. But no one understood him, only Narcissa truly cared about him. I just wish I could hug him. He didn’t have a choice.

@Shreeya Penugona I'm sorry I had a dream once that I was in Cedric Diggory's year and it was his 7th year and then he was like happy 4 year anniversary and then it skipped to when Harry showed up with his body and I ran over to hug his body and I was crying over it and then I woke up and was like OMG MY BOYFRIEND IS DEAD and then mentally cried because it wasn't real Edit: not that it wasn't because my "boyfriend was dead" but also because I didn't actually make it to my 7th year
@Shreeya Penugona we are though! Honestly I like the few hours I can take part in Magic, I think magic is real but we just don't realize it. I have this universe that I created and a entire family tree that has Rowena Ravenclaw and Helena Ravenclaw and Helga Hufflepuff in it(I made her have a son that married Helena and the Bloody Baron just didn't understand she was married) and they had only one daughter before her demise and that daughter married a Lee child and they had children and so on and the newest generation is the kids of the kids of Lyra Black and Nickion Lee (In my universe the sisters of house Black had a youngest sister Lyra who was like Andromeda but she wanted to continue seeing her whole family so she saw Andromeda in private until after the second wizarding war and the oldest Issanne(1978) married Cedric Diggory (he doesn't die in my world) and they have Amos, Cedrella and Andromeda. Then twins Helena(1979) the oldest and Heldia(1979), Helena married George Weasley and they had and Fred who were twins as well and were born during the battle and Heldia never remarried. Then Lilia(1980) who married Harry and they had James, Albus and Nynphadora whose middle name was Lily. Then Siria(1982) married Neville Longbottom and they had Alice, Frank and Hannah. Then Remsiria(1983) who married a muggle born named Malcome Davieson and they had Malcome, Minerva and Monica and they were triplets. Then Jame(1984) who married Ginny and they had Fredrick, Helena, and Issanne, and Haidi. The last four kids were named after Sirius, James, Remus and Lily because Lyra and Nickion hung out with them during school and they hung out with wormtail but never really liked him. And they were right about him since he betrayed the Potter's and Lyra even offered to be the secret keeper but Sirius said wormtail was the better option then someone and he didn't want Nickion and Lyra to get hurt. And when they were in Hogwarts Lyra, Lily, Marlene, and Alice were practically attached by hip and the same goes for Nickion, Peter, James, Remus, Sirius, and Frank. Lyra was the youngest and her sisters all didn't care about the Black family beliefs, and Bellatrix was forced to act like she liked killing but she hated it, Narcissa didn't have to kill, Andromeda left, and Lyra after she had Issanne was forced to be a loyal death eater but Bellatrix talked Voldy out of giving her and Nickion the dark mark so she and Nickion could work on a way to kill Voldy, and they lived in constant fear of their kids telling people what they were doing, and they thrive defied Voldy, and Siria was born the same day as Neville Longbottom and stuff, and Sirius had a daughter with Marlene and they were married then when Voldy killed Marlene at Sirius's house and then went to kill the rest of the Mckinnion's and Marlene sent a patronus to the Lee family manor, since everyone but Remus was there to try to save her but they were to late and all they found was a sleeping Emily(their kid) hiding in a closet, and Marlene was dead outside the next room, then when Sirius got put in Azkaban since Andromeda was the godmother of Emily, Emily was placed in her care, Emily also loved Andromeda much and thought of her as a mother, and Emily was born in 1978, in 1993 Emily met her father again and was told he was innocent and Peter Pettegrue was alive, then participated in the battle of the department of mysteries, and Sirius was really mad she risked her life for him and when she saw her dad get killed by bellatrix she cried all year, Emily was top of her class all throughout Hogwarts and she graduated in 1995, then married a half-blood named Daniel Collins and in 1997 found out she was pregnant and she has Andromeda Collins on March 31st. In 1998 Emily returned to help out in the battle of Hogwarts with Daniel, and died leaving Andromeda with her godmother and father who raised her. And Nickion was a Marauder, and Haidia, Lyra's friend married Remus a few weeks after they graduated from Hogwarts Remus and Haidia started dating in their 6th year, and when they graduated Haidia was around 3 months Pregnant and had a healthy baby boy 6 months later named Aaron, then in 1979 had a healthy baby girl named Luna but one faithful day, September 29th 1981 a death eater came while Remus was at work and killed Haidia and Aaron, the only one to survive was Lunapheilia, Lunapheilia was only a few months old, Aaron was 2, then when Remus came home and saw he panicked, ran inside and yelled for Haidia and when he went to the small pond with a tree they had found when they moved in he saw his wife and son dead, and his daughter in his wife's arms, crying. And from that day on Lunapheilia was raised in her infanthood home, while Remus went to work and when he transformed, his parents would babysit Lunapheilia for him until their deaths in 1984. When Nyphadora asked Remus out he rejected and didn't marry her, instead he had a brother John Remus Lupin born in 1973(in Universe he did have a brother) and they had Teddy, but both died in war. When the war was about to start he promised Molly and Arthur that if they were to die their kids wouldn't go hungry so when Remus died Molly never let Lunapheilia go hungry and even offered to let her stay at the burrow but she refused saying that Harry and Ginny said they would stay with her as long as she needed. Lunapheilia then got married to somebody named Seamus Finnigan and had a baby boy in 2000 named after her father Remus who had the light brown hair and Seamus's eyes, then in 2001 she had a baby girl named Haidia who had the same dark blue eyes and dirty blonde brunette hair as her mother. The only Marauder to survive was Nickion
I saw his pain, his tears, and most importantly, his fear. Draco is more than just his mistakes. Notice how he did NOT give a definitive yes or no to recognizing Harry Potter. He knew it was him. Draco chose hope over fear in that moment.
@@sanjoykumardas4018you’re wrong! Draco couldn’t even cast an Unforgivable without being terrified of the effects. Harry knew how scared Draco was after his vision of Voldemort forcing Draco to use Crucio against his will. Draco didn’t want anyone to die because of him. He just wanted to protect his mother. What would you do to protect your family? My answer: ANYTHING. What’s your answer?
Draco:*crying his eyes out* Harry: I know what you did Malfoy!! Draco:*turns around like he is going to die* Harry couldn't even acknowledge that Draco was crying!!
Honestly, if I was in Harry's shoes during draco's mental breakdown, I would hug him and say that I'm here to help you ,instead of hurting him. I would do my best to make him happy. In my opinion he did everything to make his family proud, especially his father . He was controlled, a boy who never had any choice, his hands were handcuffed and mouth zipped ,he was like a puppet for the dark lord. He loved his family but no one saw that . He wanted to be good but his father..... His wand had unicorn hair which states that he has a heart ,he has something nice deep inside his heart .
We are defined by the choices we make. Draco was a total bully to Harry ( also remember in the movies we see a very few things that he did comparing to the books). Harry owes nothing to his bully
Well, and I think this was intentional, while Draco was mean and confrontational to Harry, Harry was never, not once, kind to Draco, really until the last book, and that was after Draco had allowed him to escape from the Manor. Draco offered his hand in friendship to Harry, and Harry turned it down. And you can see in the first book that Draco doesn’t really hate Harry, it’s all just fun and games to him. When he gets older, it becomes real animosity, but it didn’t start that way. It’s an interesting thought, just what if Harry had once reached his hand out in friendship to Draco?
Why should Harry do something about a choice Draco made? He has always been on the receiving end of every bullshit, he doesn't needs to be a moral booster for his bully too.
Imagine being Draco. Being so excited to go to Hogwarts as a kid. Then, you just see it, all go down in flames. When Snape killed dumbledore, when Bellatrix destroyed the great hall, and then when the battle of Hogwarts happened. Just, imagine that.
10 but I don’t think so, I think it’s ppl who disagree I disagree but u didn’t dislike. Draco choose to embrace what his father taught him as the end said. He made death threats as a kid and never exactly redeemed himself. He just said he didn’t know if it was Harry he didn’t even say no.
@@Screech911 NO HE WASN'T! Can you even count how many times Draco praised death eaters, supported them, defended their actions, had the exactly same beliefs as them, we noticed all that throught the book. Who forced him? His father ended in Azkaban at the end of the fifth book, while Draco became a death eater in the sixth book and his mother never became one in the first place, so there was no one to force him, also, if he was forced, why he was a proud death eater at the beginning of the sixth book? Saying this is offensive you also say that all true Potterheads are offensive because they understand his real character. Draco is the boy who made all the wrong choices, that is not even an opinion, it's a fact.
@@Screech911 all things I said are mentioned in the books and all people who read them know about it. But you obviously never read them, so don't pretend you know his original real character while you have no idea, you only know his chaged version in the movies. Read the books and see for yourself are the things I said real or not.
@@Screech911 I don't think they even have to assume you never read them, it's pretty much obvious. Saying that he is forced to the dark side is completely opposite of what was really mentioned and showed in the books, no book reader ever said that, they all complain how Draco is not the boy who had no choice and that he had bunch of them, includimg joining the dark side since it was his childhood dream. There is no way you missed that if you really read them, Draco in the books and Draco in the movies are two completely different characters, but book character is his real and original character, if you read the books you would know he isn't a good person.

I’m sobbing just from watching this. I’ve loved Draco for quite some time, but not until now did I truly understand what he was going through. Draco wasn’t chosen, he was forced at age SIXTEEN due to his father’s failures. It wasn’t his choice. All Draco really wanted was to be truly happy. When I saw him crying in the bathroom, that’s when I really lost it. His pain was my pain. I felt my heart breaking for Draco.
Reason's why i feel bad for draco. "he was force" "He doesn't have a choice" "He doesn't want to die that's why he did all of the things that his father told him" "He wasn't evil he was broken" "He was chosen that's why he does what everyone tells him" "He's nice not evil" Draco, Wanted to be nice. But can't because he was being controlled. {Edit : thanks for the likes! ♥️
@@lukebappo omg stfu with this “he didn’t have a choice” bullshit. draco was the biggest piece of shit there ever was. he had a choice to bully the golden trio, he constantly called hermione a mudblood and made fun of her looks, he made fun of harrys dead parents, and he bodyshamed molly weasley and called arthur worthless infront of fred and george, and you know what, he did all of those things with a smile on his face. no, he didn’t have a choice to be a death eater, but he wasn’t a good person.
@@catvalentinesbrother3570 No, I'm NOT gonna stfu with this "he didn't have a choice" bullshit. I'm just saying that with everything that he was doing, AGAINST HIS WILL, he had no choice because _nobody gave him that choice!_ I don't know what all of your fucking angerness is about here, but it's completely unnecessary. If you don't like my opinion, then do me a favor and stfu, cuz I'm not someone you wanna mess with.
it breaks my heart that everyone calls draco mean and a bully when really he isn't. i've been rewatching the movies and rereading the books and i noticed a lot of times that the golden trio are the ones who say something mean first. for example, whenhe first called hermione a mudblood, in second year, hermione insulted him first because he was bragging about the brooms his father got for the team. he's allowed to brag, but hermione got annoyed and insulted him. so he insulted her, which ron responded to by trying to jinx him and make him vomit slugs. i honestly believe that ron deserved it when tthe spell backfired. lmao, i was kinda ranting for way to long about one scene, but i feel like its things like these that people miss because they think the golden trio can do no wrong. i honestly feel really bad for draco and i hate that most people misunderstand him. he's had a difficult life, contrary to what many people think. you know what bother me? Draco was in the bathroom crying and having a panic attack and harry walks in and his first reaction is to put an hex on him, one he dosen't know what it does and is marked for enemies. how in any way is that ok???and people say draco's the bad guy. i wish more people would understand what he's really like. also, i am so mad at jk rowling for kiling off astoria. how could she kill her? Poor Draco. After having a cold harsh death eater father and a mother who chose to go along with it, its so unfair that he finally finds a nice person that actually loves him and means a lot to him, and then she died. jk rowling wasn't fair to him. It's just so unfair. Draco really was the boy with no choice. or rather, the boy who could choose only between two terrible outcomes, becoming a murderer or being murdered. at sixteen. can we just talk about how young he was? he was a teenager that was forced to become a death eater and murder the greatest wizard alive, who even voldemort couldn't kill, at sixteen , or his enire family would probably be tortured and murdered. And he had to have voldemort live at his house, had to watch people, some of which he knew. tortured, taken prisoner, and killed, when he waasn't even a legal adult. Its just so unfair. how can people think he's a spoiled brat? anyway, sorry for the really long and confusing rant, im just upset at how misunderstood Draco is.
It's too true but the movie is messed up the first thing Harry did after realising that draco was actually crying he was rooted to the spot so shocked that he couldn't move
Nobody had empathy with Draco. Because it was easy to blame him. He was a slytherin, a trickster, a bad guy. But in fact Draco was just a child. He was a nice-hearted boy who grew up in a bad family. He didn't deserve what he went through. I luv u my poor, misunderstood, purest boy.😢💚
It's not his fault he calls Hermione a mud blood? A horrible slur in the harry potter world. It's not his fault he tried to get buckbeak, an innocent creature killed because he doesn't like hagrid and it attacked him even though he insulted it first. Fake harry potter fan clearly.
@@egghead4624 Don't forget who were his parents (father especially), they tought him almost everything he knew until he was 11. They brought him up, formed his first beliefs and opinions. Later he was surrounded by classmates and friends who came from families that valued the same or similar things. Bullies don't necessarily need to be horrible people, sometimes they just do whatever they were tought at home (being racist, homofobic etc.), sometimes they have their own problems and try to vent by hurting others and sometimes they also make bad choices.
@@egghead4624 I don't think there actually are many people who are either only good or only bad. If you were a true HP fan, you would know that this was something JKR wanted us to think about - there were many very complicated characters (including Snape or even Harry himself) with both good and bad traits. It's not easy to blame a 5 year old kid for being a bad person, it's easier when they are 12 though and it's even easier when they are adults. Sure, the older they get, the more chances they've got to change. However, the older they get the harder it actually is to change. A part of it is all the other people telling they they are bad and that's it.
My favourite characters and why: Snape- All his life he was rejected. He knew what love was but he was too afraid to express it. Afraid to lose lily he kept his feelings locked away but obviously she noticed. He was bullied, made fun of, and even hated on. No one cared though. Not even lily. When she died you could still see the amount of love he had for her. He sat there crying while her cold body was wrapped around his arms. Voldemort (Tom riddle)- He grew up in an orphanage. No one cared for him like a parent would. He was surrounded by negativity so of course the poor boy would be swallowed by it. He spent all his life looking for answers. Why him? It’s was obvious the boy had depression but as we need someone to hold and talk to he did too. Unfortunately he didn’t have a single person that he could turn to. Giving him the emotion of hatred to everyone he hasn’t met and hasn’t got to know. Draco- In all his life he tried to impress his father. Just to earn a little mercy from his father or just even a hug. A hug would have meant a lot to him. Lucius forced Draco to be an evil little boy and gave him no love at all. They often say bullies bully others because of the things others have that they don’t. He bullied Harry because he was loved by all, Draco wasn’t even loved by his own parents let alone all. He bullied Ron because he was jealous of the fact that he had a warm, beautiful family that cared so much for all their children. And for Hermione, J.K Rowling says Draco had s little crush on her in the movies which is obvious. As Draco started to grow he started getting worse. He became more vile because he couldn’t take it anymore. Be forced to do something repeatedly gives you the urge to just do it anyways till you have had enough and it becomes an habit. He never wanted to bully Harry. He never had any real friends. He never had any real attention so I don’t blame the poor boy.
Snape was creepily obsessive though, he hated a boy because his dad was a bully but protected him because it was Lily's son. Like he was obsessive. Even when she was married and happy like it was just nah- if someone was that obsessive for anyone they'd get a restraining order
the escapist he didn’t stalk her. he was the love of her life and they had a terrible falling out and snape never had the chance to reconcile and then went and found her dead boys there. and then seeing her son everyday at work, the son of a woman you so desperately wanted to feel something with who married a man who bullied you? that has to be so traumatic
@y/n Weasley stop. he did not. he didnt choose to help voldemort. he didnt choose to join him. he was being pressured by his parents to join, he was being pressured by the dark lord to help him. he had no choice.
@༎ຶ‿༎ຶ mk. so he can just go up to voldy and say amo wsp i dont want to join the death eaters so long suckerss im not saying its okay to be sexually assaulted? when did i say that
He did, everyone does. For example, Sirius. He was also someone who was despised by his parents, always pushed into the pure-blood stagnation, but he revolted. He met great friends, and he decided to be a good person. HE CHOSE TO BE A GOOD PERSON. Dramco could have done so too, he could have chosen to be a great human, befriending Harry and helping him, even secretly, and he would have had Dumbledore's protection and good company. Instead, he decided to follow the path his parents carved for him and become vile.
@@mm4843 how would you feel if you were in his place? His father barley Caring about him? Everyone making an effort to Help Harry but didn’t help Draco? Feeling hopeless? Happy Slowpoke fun fact, that part was improvised. felton was actually supposed to walk directly towards his parents, but the producers wanted the scene to have more “character”
Gotta love that, till the point his parents called attention to him, Draco was in among the crowd. Not out in front, but he was still outside, in the courtyard with everyone else. He could have just stayed inside and hidden somewhere after he ran off from the trio, but he hadn't. He was right there next to Luna, ready to meet the same fate as everyone else, till he was singled out.
draco is literally my favorite character now, but i hate how ppl didn’t see the good in him, just the bad. his only fault was that he was born on the wrong side of the war that he was forced to fight. he keeps saying he was chosen to get avoid the fact that he didn’t have any choice, his father made all the wrong choices that draco had to pay for. draco tried so hard to impress his father and even the smallest gesture would’ve meant so much to him, but lucius never acknowledged his own son, and so narcissa was the only person who actually loved him

Hannah Diane thats so fkn tru
And that he didn't had any choice

I really like your comment. Amazing how this story makes so many people around the world discuss about good and bad and think about how to be a better person and change your perspective.
Im literally crying...
he was never given a chance to be on the other side. of course he would go to the only person who showed his some type of affection (his mother) cuz she was all he had. and even then he hesitated, because he knew. he knew that it wasn’t the right side, and he was clearly willing to defy his mother if someone had asked him to. but no one did. i don’t even know if it would’ve been worth it to stay, to loose the only person who cared, just to be on the right side. because no one else truly liked him, so who would he have had(probably no one)??

He. Deserved. Better.
If I was at Hogwarts I will definitely help him
(Please someone reply because I need to see where you Draco defenders come from)
Please tell me people don’t actually try to defend Draco 🤨
I’m on a re-read of the books and I literally forgot just how nasty he was. Lucius was a bit hard on him but he loved him
Draco wasn’t evil. He was just a bully and a whiny spoiled kid who had a deep hatred of the golden trio. In the movies he is a semi likable character and if you only watch them I kinda could see where Draco defenders come from but as someone who HATES the movies and adores the books I have to say there is no denying that Draco was a bully

when everyone got up to check if Draco was OK and Lucius just looked disappointed
Is it just me who wants to see the story from Draco’s perspective?
Me too💚
it will be boring in the first 5 years, will be a story of bully with daddy issues, that by the way we don't really know what his father did to him, ihe was just afraid of him like most people and on the other hand half a book would be about Draco making people's lives impossible without any cause
@@sofiaquevedo9913 but I’m pretty sure J K Rowling can make it interesting enough for us
@@itskore158 yeah but draco doesn't add much to the story, that's why I say that from Draco's perspective it would be very boring
Draco may be a bully, but what do you expect a child to do when they're not even in control of their own life
Edit: the above point was a bit exaggerated. I know Harry has been through a lot as well, it's just the fact that Draco's issues go unnoticed and many fans hate him for who he was forced to be
Edit 2: SORRY GUYS I know that my comment was very biased for Draco's side. Just because Draco went through a lot of things that went unnoticed, Harry's shouldn't matter. Harry and Draco both went through a lot in their lifetimes, so did other characters we aren't talking about. They were both victims, just in different ways. I'm sorry for my biased argument (I may have been a little emotional for Draco at the time)
He never had the chance to choose the right choices😢
Yuri plisetsky you know it’s not real right
@@m1tchm4c94 ofc
Ok but Harry had to suffer and go through things a child should not go through
Actually they both suffer
But everything would be different if Harry had shake his hand and teach him that he actually has a choice
I bet if Harry shook his hand when they first met, Draco could’ve had a choice.
100%
But his father would have harassed him and brought harry to voldemort
@@owkay_1 that's right, but Draco would've stopped it somehow. Harry would've been someone for Draco to lean on and show the emotional support his parents denied him.
STUPID HARRY
WHOMST'D, you might be right, but you still can’t blame Harry. Draco was being judgemental and if Harry had shook his hand, it would have validated Draco’s actions/words. And not just validate them to Draco, but to the whole class watching them. Harry not shaking Draco’s hand was a positive influence on the class as a whole. That’s my opinion anyway.
“I am the chosen one!”
“And I am the broken one, the boy who has no choice. You have always had the choice-and I have always been the one who had no choice.”
EDIT: not bringing harry down here-just writing this in draco’s point of view, and in draco’s point of view, harry has always been in the spotlight. but we all know that harry has gone through so, so much and given up many things, including his own life, to defeat voldemort. it’s just that draco doesn’t fully know harry’s story, so this quote, in his point of view, was valid.
This is underrated. And this is so true
This is sooo true
Can we just, not bring Harry down to make a point about Draco?
we should not tear Harry down, I mean both characters have gone through a lot, and I do agree Draco deserves more love in the Harry Potter series
This so true😭
During the battle you could tell everyone finally realized Draco had no choice
That’s what I was thinking. Throughout the years everyone thought that Draco did this for himself, but that battle everyone saw he didn’t have a choice he was being forced and he was just a kid he couldn’t fight it. I wish one person would of grabbed Draco and not let him be hurt anymore
@@LJohnsonnn same here Luna was like right behind him and she out of everyone seemed to have the biggest heart. This being said I wish she would have like grabbed his arm or something to talk him away from going to the other side but as we all know no one stoped him.
They finally saw... He HAD to do it, or he would be killed
Let alone his mother
They pity him, but they wouldn’t stop him, because it’s safest for him, and Narcissa shows genuine care for her son
The only reason Draco took that mark was so he and his mother could live
Draco only went over to the Death Eaters at the end because his mother called him.

@BRENDA APARECIDA DE LIMA TOMONAGA he didnt have a choive
@BRENDA APARECIDA DE LIMA TOMONAGA check your grammar
And he was a bully and I agree he was idiotic stupid and cruel as a child. Sirius went through the same things. What is the difference, though? He was good. He did whatever it took to stay on the good side. Draco, however, went to the bad side without ease. They went through the same things, but one was good and the other was bad. Tsk. I hate when everyone forgets Sirius.
While your circumstances certainly do inform your choices, Draco always had the capacity to choose the good. Both Draco and his parents are at fault.

I saw his pain, his tears, and most importantly, his fear. Draco is more than just his mistakes. Notice how he did NOT give a definitive yes or no to recognizing Harry Potter. He knew it was him. Draco chose hope over fear in that moment.
@@remuslupin4458 That's only because he didn't want Voldemort to come, he wasted no time in recognizing Ron and Hermione.
@@sanjoykumardas4018you’re wrong! Draco couldn’t even cast an Unforgivable without being terrified of the effects. Severus raised him to be nonviolent, that’s why Draco disarmed Dumbledore instead of outright killing him. It’s one of the biggest reasons Harry didn’t leave Draco, a KNOWN Death Eater, to die. Harry knew how scared Draco was after his vision of Voldemort forcing Draco to use Crucio against his will. Draco didn’t want anyone to die because of him. He just wanted to protect his mother. What would you do to protect your family? My answer: ANYTHING. What’s your answer?

Honestly, if I was in Harry's shoes during draco's mental breakdown, I would hug him and say that I'm here to help you ,instead of hurting him. I would do my best to make him happy.
In my opinion he did everything to make his family proud, especially his father .
He was controlled, a boy who never had any choice, his hands were handcuffed and mouth zipped ,he was like a puppet for the dark lord.
He loved his family but no one saw that .
He wanted to be good but his father.....
His wand had unicorn hair which states that he has a heart ,he has something nice deep inside his heart .
This one.
We are defined by the choices we make. Draco was a total bully to Harry ( also remember in the movies we see a very few things that he did comparing to the books). Harry owes nothing to his bully
@@sel3059 Bro… seriously?

The father himself just likes elevated, easy life. He is not evil. Not really.
I love how it’s Draco’s mother who tries to stand up for him.
Harry Potter’s Legend: *The Boy Who Lived...*
Draco Malfoy’s Legend: *The Boy Who Had No Choice...*
Actually it is: *The Boy Who Made All The Wrong Choices* The first one you said doesn't fit his original character from the books

"he was force"
"He doesn't have a choice"
"He doesn't want to die that's why he did all of the things that his father told him"
"He wasn't evil he was broken"
"He was chosen that's why he does what everyone tells him"
"He's nice not evil"
Draco, Wanted to be nice. But can't because he was being controlled.

He was the boy who had no choice.

@@catvalentinesbrother3570 bruhhh, Girl I don't think you're a real potterhead💀💀
@@catvalentinesbrother3570 Girl...... shut up.
it breaks my heart that everyone calls draco mean and a bully when really he isn't. i've been rewatching the movies and rereading the books and i noticed a lot of times that the golden trio are the ones who say something mean first. for example, whenhe first called hermione a mudblood, in second year, hermione insulted him first because he was bragging about the brooms his father got for the team. he's allowed to brag, but hermione got annoyed and insulted him. so he insulted her, which ron responded to by trying to jinx him and make him vomit slugs. i honestly believe that ron deserved it when tthe spell backfired. lmao, i was kinda ranting for way to long about one scene, but i feel like its things like these that people miss because they think the golden trio can do no wrong. i honestly feel really bad for draco and i hate that most people misunderstand him. he's had a difficult life, contrary to what many people think. you know what bother me?

@@monikaz8739 so he isn't a bad person because he is a result of his upbringing which is the same with pretty much everyone in the world.
@@monikaz8739 did I say he is only good or bad or did I disagree that his bad actions aren't his fault? Don't put words in my mouth you fake fan.
My favourite characters and why:
Snape-
All his life he was rejected.
Voldemort (Tom riddle)-
He grew up in an orphanage.
Draco-
In all his life he tried to impress his father.
BLACK LIST true 💚
Snape was creepily obsessive though, he hated a boy because his dad was a bully but protected him because it was Lily's son. Like he was obsessive. Even when she was married and happy like it was just nah- if someone was that obsessive for anyone they'd get a restraining order
Faith Fuller this isn’t the real world. it was never that easy for him and don’t say he hated him because he didn’t.
the escapist he didn’t stalk her. he was the love of her life and they had a terrible falling out and snape never had the chance to reconcile and then went and found her dead boys there. and then seeing her son everyday at work, the son of a woman you so desperately wanted to feel something with who married a man who bullied you? that has to be so traumatic
Imagine what’d it’d be like if Hermione liked him back tho
"We've all got light and dark inside us, what matters is the path we "choose" to act on. That's who we really are"
He didn't have that "choice"
@y/n Weasley stop. he did not. he didnt choose to help voldemort. he didnt choose to join him. he was being pressured by his parents to join, he was being pressured by the dark lord to help him. he had no choice.
@y/n Weasley in first year? no he did not think he was going to join. everyone thought voldemort was gone. his parents didnt bother to find him
@y/n Weasley *not in the last few books no*
@༎ຶ‿༎ຶ mk. so he can just go up to voldy and say amo wsp i dont want to join the death eaters so long suckerss
im not saying its okay to be sexually assaulted? when did i say that
He did, everyone does. Instead, he decided to follow the path his parents carved for him and become vile.
i feel so bad for him...he deserved so much better

draco is literally my favorite character now, but i hate how ppl didn’t see the good in him, just the bad. his only fault was that he was born on the wrong side of the war that he was forced to fight. he keeps saying he was chosen to get avoid the fact that he didn’t have any choice, his father made all the wrong choices that draco had to pay for. draco tried so hard to impress his father and even the smallest gesture would’ve meant so much to him, but lucius never acknowledged his own son, and so narcissa was the only person who actually loved him
