I’ve got a little breakaway horse who hasn’t been through a barrier yet, thanks for the video. I will get him going this way. Appreciate your time and help!

Really nice work. It does my heart good for people to see how much it helps a horse's mind.

S Crawford Thank you. Sasquatch is a cool one with a really good mind to start with. Pretty laid back, which is why it was surprising how long it took him to run through it instead of try to go over it.

@@RelentlessNation He does seem to have a good mind - really nice horse. We bought one once that had been launching himself into the air to log cattle - he literally leaped into the air with every stride. He was very well-muscled, built nice. But just not started right, nor helped to overcome this. He seriously thought he could not pull anything. So we taught him to lead one of my goats at first, then built up gradually bigger animals. His leaping into the air at first to log that little goat was kind of funny, but sad. With patience, he gradually learned how to set & log any steer, using proper body mechanics, and it didn't take too long. My ex won a lot of money heading on him - he worked like a champion.

Then when you get to Pendleton and that barrier at the bottom of the racetrack some horses still try to jump it.

When doing this drill, I see that your breaking more straight in the middle is that just to get him to break through it and then later can you go back and try to break more to the pin.

Jesse Heavy Runner hey Jesse, heading, I’m going to stick with breaking to the middle of the box. When you break to the pin heading, you get too far straight behind the steer, which gives him too much room to the left to get away from you and be harder to rope.
