The designers and modelers outdid themselves with Tihana's true form. It's such a grotesque figure yet still maintains an air of beauty, for a lack of a better word.
Tihana is one of my favorite characters in any Frictional game, from her design to her leitmotif to her tragedy. I absolutely love when media creates creatures/monsters/other lifeforms that spurred on established human mythos. Her true form, all rooted into the endless supply, kind of reminds me of how Akers hooked up humans to the WAU utopia in Soma.
not really telepathy, she is using special stones - Ankhari stones, also referred to as control stones, are small, fist-sized orbs used by Empress Tihana and the most skilled alchemists (like Temaku) of the Other World's largest empire to control Harvesters.

I feel like there were so many other options besides a torture society; like I dunno, spending all that time and effort into genetic engineering research, even stealing from other universes. And adoption.
It's funny, but I think the torture society was THE easiest course of action for them at that point. Vitae research, I think, is already a branch of their own version of genetic engineering, as it is a scientific-magic cure all for a lot of ailments, ala stem cell stuff. They already had a ruling class monarchy thing and citizens that could be disposed of--why not make the most out of what they already had in a cruel selfish way that those elites in charge know how to do best?
Well the Empress was forced to take vitae because she wanted to have the child and when she has stopped to take it her genetic sickness has returned therefore she wouldn't be able to bear a child for very long, the immortality was rather side effect of the very long vitae intake, despite vitae intake her condition didn't stopped to eat away her body and from what I remember her own people proposed the vitae as cure for her condition.
not quite, her being infertile was something that was caused by her illness and was the only thing that could not be cured by the Vitae treatment As a result she could not give birth to an Heir and her lineage would have ended, which would have probably caused several political complications, so her chief Alchemist Temaku decided to initiate the Vitae treatment to prolong her life indefinetively. That way she did not require an heir, but she herself was unhappy with this since she wanted to have a child for her own sake
It makes you wonder, also there's a character in a note in rebirth called Ayandra the Apostate they were banished so it's possible according to the wiki that this was alexander, (hope you don't mind me sharing that)
honestly these videos really make me appreciate the horror in modern amnesia, despite them not clicking quite like dark descent its still pretty terrifying
@@umukzusgelos4834 I wonder if Thiana wasnt a inspiration in some way for Mirandas design since both are in some almost the Same, both want a Child, both are in their respective Form a Queen or Ruler, Both are the Birth Point of the Story of Resident Evil and Amnesia, they both like to Fight Parents that are very Hard to kill and both are absolutly blinded by their Power and Strengh they have and this was in the End the Downfall for both of them
@@xenoboy7828the narrative overlaps are almost uncanny but considering how close Amnesia Rebirth and Resident Evil Village released after each other I find it unlikely that Tihana played a role in the design of Mother Miranda

Hmmm, I would disagree, ingame lore suggests that she, similarly to Amari suffered from a degenerative Illness that afflicted some of her organs, resulting in her not being able to produce offspring as noted by the Alchemists, she even at one point was on the verge of death in her early years but was likely kept alive with Vitae, which might have been the point at which the Alchemists began to treat her with it notable is that other individuals that consumed Vitae such as Alexander and Kita the Traitor share some of her visual traits, such as the blue-ish skin and pale eyes Kita even has the same growths around him has she does, difference being the quantities and the duration of their consumption
