this is so awesome and i love seeing different techniques from different mediums so i can learn but i only work in coloured pencil as i have tried other mediums and they just dont have the feel i have with coloured pencils, so can you show this for folks like myself thanks a bunch
This kinda happened to me on accident but I was painting a Christmas ornament. I was using the same color the whole time and I'm not sure what would have happened if I used different colors. It made kind of a cool texture even though that wasn't what I was going for. I'll think of it as a happy accident though because I do love me some texture!
This is such a cool technique! I'd love to give this a go when I jump back into acrylics again. Thanks for sharing ^^ The end result turned out beautiful! :)
So what's the actual dimensional texture of the finish like when dry using your technique? Is it a mostly smooth in the dimensional sense making it mostly visual effect or is it actually pretty chunky? The paint cracking like that has to leave *some* texture but it looks like your blue paint layer was a pretty thinly applied overall.
The fox is my spirit animal , this is the most beautiful painting I've seen of a fox .... your so talented 🙌🧡🦊 How much would a paining of a fox like this cost ?
I have a watercolor painting of a garden scene as if you are looking out of a window to the backyard. I am trying to decide how I want to paint the "cross section and outside frame of the (imaginary) window." I am leaning towards a crackle technique and am wondering if this one would work on this particular painting. The painting is on crescent board, so it's pretty sturdy. Have you ever done this as part of a watercolor?
No I haven't but I don't think the watercolor would stick well to it. I would do a test on a different piece of paper before you do it on your project for sure. Who knows, maybe you will get an interesting new technique :)
Just turn the canvas the other direction so when you're really letting the paint run, have it run horizontally at that stage instead. In the end, you don't have THAT much control over the cracks though, they're going to do what they want lol.
You talk so fast I didn't grasp all what you said. You put a tick layer of painting then on top of it you put a thin layer after that you use air dryer to dry them.
Lovely! Well done Lisa, thanks so much for teaching us!
I love the garbage bin skit😂 you two are a trip! I’d kill for friends like you🥰

Thank you! 😊
As soon as I get my studio set back up I will be doing this lesson!
YAY!! I can't wait to see yours!!
Me either! Right now it's full of boxes lol!
Very cool and love the look of it! Thanks for sharing
I think I'm going to try this for my mandala backgrounds 🥰🥰🥰
awesome great work! What would you suggest to do differently if this technique is used for a large artwork, like a 60x 60"?
Great tutorial! Thanks
Thank you for your video; clear and direct directions and explanation. ❤🙏
Glad it was helpful!
This is so cool Lisa ! So, does this cause the painting on top(the fox) to peel off or change?
Nope, because it's still all just acrylics. When it's all dry it's the same as usual :D
@@Lachri gotta love that! thanks!
This was such an interesting lesson.
Thank you :D
Loved it!!❤🦋want to try this asap🥺
Tag me when you do! I want to see! :D
Does work work on plastic or aluminum

How cool is this!
Thanks :D
Interesting! Do the cracks make it more difficult to paint your subject? Are there Divots?
That’s beautiful❣️👏🏽😃 I would like to paint my floor standing Jewelry Armoire. Is possible?

Ooo ima try this!!
YAY! Tag me in your finished painting when you do! I would love to see it!
Can you do it without a hair dryer, i.e., letting it dry naturally?

Dumb question: how to get it to crack horizontally instead of vertically?
Thank you for this, I love it!

This is awesome. Of course I see this, 3 days after I bought crackle medium 🤦🏼♀️ lol
You can try both and see which you like better now :D
@@Lachri definitely! Thanks for the excellent tip, as always!
Your fox is gorgeous
Can you pls clarify what and how to do in simple points just don’t get it thank you
I used this to paint my headphones a cracked lava texture
I did this accidentally before so at first glance I thought this was a tutorial to avoid having them lol
LOL I found this out accidentally too originally about 12 or 13 years ago. I was trying to do something TOTALLY different at the time haha.
How did you manage to do it?. Steps pls.
WHAT THE HELL THAT INTRO HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
With all due respect, in a tutorial video better to focus on the hands doing the work than the person showing their face!
I don't think you're commenting on the right video. Either that or you didn't watch the whole thing :)
tryin 2b a comedian... didnt understand zip,,,,
Congrats?
