- How to make easy crackle texture
Crackle texture is really big in the crafting and art world right now. I love to use different crackle pastes because every crackle paste looks different in the end, there are BIG cracks and LITLLE cracks.
For the mixing, I have used Easy3Dflex powder from Powertex and Gesso.
Today I'll show you how I make my crackled texture with the Easy3Dflex powder, easy and in a few steps.
I made a simple artwork, with a beautiful color palette. For the color palette, I use pigment powders from Powertex and some ink.

Do you think it could work on a jewelry armoire? If I spat thick crackle paste on various areas not so close to each other. I want to use black as the canvas and silver on top maybe various types of silver with little splotches of white. The armoire isn’t going to have a lot of movement except the drawers and there’s no children to fool with it. What do think? Will the pieces fall off? Should I use a primer paint for the canvas?

Is the power tex a type of gypsum ?
Marion, I absolutely love your paintings! I have a question about the metallic pigment powder. After you apply the powder onto the crackle texture, is there a certain type of medium you can use to seal it permanently so that the pigment powder does not get rubbed off?
Thank you so much 😊 I don’t seal my painting the pigment powder is rubbed into the fluid color mediums that makes the pigment powder stick to the painting. But if you like to seal use a acrylic spray varnish.

Thank you for your questions, I used a canvas of 25x25cm. The first mix is Gesso and Easy3Dflex powder from Powertex.
Marion, wat is evt een alternatief voor de facettenlack die u gebruikt ??
En zou je ook alcohol ink kunnen gebruiken om toch ongeveer hetzelfde resultaat te krijgen.
Het alternatief is transparante crackle medium van Decoart. Facetten lack is een crackle medium en Alcohol inkt is om te kleuren.
Dag Marion, in je film gebruik je Gesso van Beiswijk en Gesso van Talens. Voor een ander werk Powertex Ivoor. Is er een verschil in resultaat tussen deze drie?

Hallo Patrick, tegenwoordig gebruik ik bijna geen Powertex meer om mijn craquelé te maken omdat Powertex voor veel mensen veel lastiger is, de hoeveelheid moet je afmeten (tenzij je zoveel ervaring hebt dat je het op gevoel kan doen). Gesso kan je meer op gevoel mengen het geeft toch wel een craquelé. Het verschil tussen Gesso Talens en Gesso Bleiswijk is naast het prijsverschil ook dat er een andere barst ontstaat Gesso Bleiwijk geeft een rechte barst en Gesso Talens geeft een organische barst. Gesso Bleiwijk mengt het makkelijkst, bij Gesso Talens is het mengen wat zwaarder maar geeft een barst vergelijkbaar met Powertex.

Vroeg me nog af terwijl ik deze video opnieuw bekijk waarom je koos voor twee aparte merken Gesso? Groet🖐️
Goede vraag, ik hou van experimenteren dat is een van de redenen. Maar elke Gesso geeft ook een ander ook effect, de Gesso van Talens is veel zwaarder om te verwerken dan de Gesso van de Action en geeft een ander crackle, meer organisch dan de Gesso van de Action die meer een rechte barst geeft. Ik gebruik tegenwoordig vaak de gesso van Talens ook om een structuur pasta te maken.
