I'm currently designing one for my Gen1 Xterra. A safety suggestion: use the tie-down points in the back to secure the platform and everything beneath it in place. Connect it with straps that are easy to untie for removal. The problem with SUVs with all that gear in the back is an emergency stop creates a lot of material flying into the front, including heavy items. In my pickup I have a headache rack to prevent that, I don't get that with the Xterra unless I use a cargo net and tie things down.
Thanks for the tip! Yeah I had some extra cargo nets laying around that I used to secure some cargo and close off the opening in the back. Seemed to work fine even when hitting some awful trails haha.
I didn’t really. I just chose a height for the four legs in the back and made sure that the two legs in the front (by the driver and passenger seats) were going to be taller than the legs in the back so that it angled up slightly where my head is. Reason I did that was because my Xterra naturally dips downwards towards the front so by making the legs a bit longer where my head is, it levelled it out better.
How long do you think it is from the bumper to the back of the front driver seat of actual sleeping room? I’m guessing 6feet long and maybe 4feet wide??
Hey! Love the video man! So I an getting an Xterra in a couple weeks and its right before a roadtrip out to CO! I was wondering if i could get the dimensions for your project. I am hoping to pre-build as much as possible before the trip! Thanks man! Keep up the great content!
This video is sick man, you should definitely make some more in the near future
Thanks brotha, appreciate it!
Nice work bud!

So cool!👌
Hey man, I just saw your video and it’s amazing thank you and what was the size of the bedframe?
@@manolorodriguez7020 thank you! I actually sold the Xterra while back so I don’t remember dimensions, sorry!
I love it! Ever consider vlogging?
Ah maybe one day 😂
Hi!
How did you find out how to make the bed level?

I’ll measure it again when I’m back home but yes it was roughly what you mentioned.

Hey Dylan! Thank you. Sorry I didn’t see your comment earlier, I rarely check TH-cam! Is it too late to get you dimensions?
@@jaywwild hey man great vid!
If you can send me those dimensions too, that would be killer! Subscribing for more of this content!
could really benefit from getting the measurements of the width height and depth !
@@chinmeysway I wish I could! I sold the Xterra a few months back and don’t have my blueprints anymore 😭
