Hello! Parisian subscriber here! I hope you will love your month in Paris. Just a few tips/advice: you seem to be in a really touristy neighborhood. That means a lot of pickpockets. Be careful when walking with a crossbody bag; they are straightforward to pull out. A common scam for tourists is usually a kid or a woman coming in front of you and asking you to sign a petition. While they are distracting you, someone is emptying your pocket/bag. Also, you look like a foreigner (you seem way too happy to be a Parisian), and some people may not be friendly to you, especially in shops. Saying "bonjour, comment allez-vous?" in french will help tremendously as they will see you trying. Now for the recommendations: while the center of Paris is charming and cute, there are many different boroughs to explore and even some other cities nearby, like Versailles. In the 8th district, you will find the mosque of Paris with an amazing little tea place inside, next to Le Jardin des Plantes with the rose garden. On the 13th, you will find La Felicita, a cute restaurant/coffee shop. In the 17h, there are a lot of little cafés near the Batignolles market. The 18th is the place of Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur, but it is also one of the most "dangerous" in Paris, so be careful around it. I would strongly advise you to not go alone as you would be an easy target for pickpockets. This is still a wonderful place to see those typical little streets that are often used to represent Paris. The 12th is the home of Bois de Vincennes, a lovely park. Finally, the 19th, the best borough, in my opinion (in a really nonobjective way), is a much more artsy neighborhood. You will see here the Buttes Chaumont, a wonderful little park with a tiny waterfall, the rives of canal de l'ourcq with a lot of bookshops on peniches, some artsy cafés and some little streets that just seem to be countryside in the middle of the city. You can even end up at la Halle de la Villette or La cité des sciences, where there are some cool expos.

I've visited Paris alone as well. There are many English speaking expats and places in Paris one can go to when you feel like you need interactions in English. For staters, I can recommend the Peloton Cafe in the 4th. Please be careful talking and trusting strangers or ppl you've only known for a short period of time, that's how people go missing.
As everyone else has expressed, it's such a joy and inspiration to see you continuing to prioritize your agency. Keeping acknowledging your gut feelings and pursuing your dreams.
If I had a choice I would move to Madrid or Florence. I went with my hubby in October 2023 at 55 and fell in love with both cities. You are so lucky to work for a company that is flexible.

Taylor... I've been here since the start......& I'm here to say, I"M VERY PROUD OF YOU!!! What you are doing is absolutely not easy, in the least, but you are doing it!! You are following your dreams and doing what is best for yourself! Also, wanted to say, I'm also shy & quiet at times, but what people don't know about women like that, we can be quietly fierce, too! Being quiet so much helps us to form our own way of thinking, not needing others to dictate what we do. Sometimes, ppl are surprised by our bravery....but, I'm not surprised you were able to do it! And, kudos to Lyle for being so very supportive of you & your dreams. You are both very trusting and that's strongest foundation of all between two ppl. The only think I'd say, though, is please be safe on your travels..... keep aware of your surroundings & don't publicize too much that you are there on your own. ( I know, you have a TH-cam channel that is saying it, but the ppl there probably don't know that ). I would stay in well lit areas and keep your purse close..... if you do make any friends there, meet up in only public places. You never know ppl's intentions. It's sad, but true. Also, when you go to cafe on your own or restaurant on your own, always just bring a book or a magazine & pull it out..... I promise you, any discomfort you feel about being at the table by yourself will disappear. I do it all the time, & it's my go-to to feeling more comfortable....... the beauty is, eventually, you will feel more comfortable! : ) Good for you, Taylor! Live out your dreams! XO

Tip: you dont have to rush when sat down at any resto/cafe, you can eat/sip and meditate and no one will mind, also in grocery store look at the price tags if they say per item you dont have to weight anything, when however the price label says per kg then you should use the scale :-) you dont have to be worried of sitting anywhere alone, in big cities thats so common no one really pays attention, its just normal ;-)

It's okay to go to a Cafe by yourself in Paris, order something & people watch. You can also bring a book to read or an agenda to write in. I do it whenever I'm there, you'll meet people & have a blast!!

Coincidentally I am living and working in Montreal right now from an air bnb for a month as something I planned fun and spontaneous to do several months ago and the time is finally here . I brought my little dog and we’ve been having a blast so far! Can’t wait to do the same thing in France one day ❤

I had to unwrap my heart and just watch and listen to you after now knowing it’s just for a short stay I understand. I support you as a friend and love you are living out your dream. Just found you tonight! LOVE it! I have a daughter living in England-living the dream. I did not have this opportunity in my twenties, or thirties...However, I plan to live part time in England in about 3 years. Let me also say, you shared in your vlog 'remembering the feeling' that you got upon your first visit. When you have a dream, it is vital to keep that memory alove and tangible. So proud for you!

Taylor... I've been here since the start......& I'm here to say, I"M VERY PROUD OF YOU!!! What you are doing is absolutely not easy, in the least, but you are doing it!! You are following your dreams and doing what is best for yourself!
Also, wanted to say, I'm also shy & quiet at times, but what people don't know about women like that, we can be quietly fierce, too! Being quiet so much helps us to form our own way of thinking, not needing others to dictate what we do. Sometimes, ppl are surprised by our bravery....but, I'm not surprised you were able to do it! And, kudos to Lyle for being so very supportive of you & your dreams. You are both very trusting and that's strongest foundation of all between two ppl.
The only think I'd say, though, is please be safe on your travels..... keep aware of your surroundings & don't publicize too much that you are there on your own. ( I know, you have a TH-cam channel that is saying it, but the ppl there probably don't know that ). I would stay in well lit areas and keep your purse close..... if you do make any friends there, meet up in only public places. You never know ppl's intentions. It's sad, but true.
Also, when you go to cafe on your own or restaurant on your own, always just bring a book or a magazine & pull it out..... I promise you, any discomfort you feel about being at the table by yourself will disappear. I do it all the time, & it's my go-to to feeling more comfortable....... the beauty is, eventually, you will feel more comfortable! : )

Tip: you dont have to rush when sat down at any resto/cafe, you can eat/sip and meditate and no one will mind, also in grocery store look at the price tags if they say per item you dont have to weight anything, when however the price label says per kg then you should use the scale :-) you dont have to be worried of sitting anywhere alone, in big cities thats so common no one really pays attention, its just normal ;-)
