    Just as high quality Hi-Fi sound enhances one's enjoyment of music, I think it's also true to say that a high quality and realistic image enhances one's enjoyment of television.
    It's amazing how far television technology has come since I was kid in the 60's! From low-res tube powered black & white CRT sets, to hang-on-the-wall pictures so realistic, it's almost like looking through a window!

Samsung was so into being connected, LG with their typical screen display. Sony had their car. Hisense was pretty much nonexistent. It seems TCL could break into the big 3 for tvs.

    Hey Caleb when you do finally get your hands on this TV. Can you please do a full review on the processing the motion smoothing? I know you don't like the soap opera effect but I love it. The one thing that is held me back from getting another TCL is their processing. If they cannot that out the park then this may be the one I buy over the QD-OLED. And the only reason for that is my wife watches a ton of talk shows and there is always an image on the screen and I am just scared that there is going to be burning. Awesome review. Sounds impressive. I love the QN90B I just got. It really opened my eyes to how good mini-LED backlighting with quantum dot colors can look. I honestly think my QN90B looks better than my LG CX. The colors on the QN90B are similar to my plasmas, while the CX doesn't have good color purity. There's too much blue light and not enough purity and separation in the green and red portions of the RGB spectrum on the CX.
    The motion is also better on the QN90B since its black frame insertion mode still maintains a vibrant and beautiful image quality, while the CX becomes very dim and dull while using the BFI mode.
    Finally, the QN90B doesn't crush blacks and dark shades in a scene the way the CX does. Blacks still look extremely deep when they need to, but the overall grayscale and presentation of darker picture elements looks more correct and natural on the QN90B.

    • @randallsmith2521
      @randallsmith2521 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Samsung has done a good job with the QN90B. It has a large color volume. I think LG and Sony both have superior image processing, but I wouldn't object to having a QN90B in my house.

      I wasn't happy with it...I have a 65" QN90B and I just can't see the reasoning in paying $630 more for this TV than the cheaper X90K Sony...it' looks washed out in colors compared to the old Hisense U8H I had but it does do a better job at processing motion compared to the stutter from the U8H but the QN90B's blooming is pretty ridiculous...Samsungs are also known for their DSE but this QN90B I got really isn't bad and the S95B Oled I had was perfect so OLED tvs from Samsung on DSE is amazing but LED's, not so much and it effects the gaming experience. I've decided I need to just go for great motion and picture for just normal cable tv viewing and I'm getting a great OLED tv as well for the back room for just video games and movies and a clean screen with no DSE...I can't do both and keep the QN90B cause of it's hefty $1800 price tag...but still, was not impressed with the QN90B I have compared to even other Mini-Leds out there...didn't seem to pop as much and look as dark in the blacks as others I had seen...

    “Movie Theaters are dying” - “Who’s to blame????”
    I think the answer is getting to be pretty obvious at this point. Since high quality 4k tvs have become cheap (with HDR/Dolby Vision), people are more content with waiting to rent/stream a movie on their home tv and not have to pay an arm and a leg for concessions. I have a B7 OLED(which is 5 models old at this point) and it still looks better than what is in theaters.
    It’s just wild how economic it is to get a fantastic home tv. Move theaters need to step it up with more Dolby Theatres/Laser Imax theatres to compete with the quality of home devices these days.

    TBH I haven’t used my projector since getting the TV and I’m definitely watching more tv from my home theater room. The tv is nice.

    The link shows the 65' tv at Best buy for 1299 on sale? Is this the same tv? Also will this compare to my LG C9 65 oled.. or is the oled still better?

      last year i was debating between getting an oled from sony (a80j) or mini led from tcl. obviously i got the oled because i thought it was better. big mistake because now i think oled tvs are overrated. i regret because my friend has a tcl and the brightness itself wins me over. my tv is close to the window and the tcl just handles it better. im looking to sell this thing and get this new tcl. it is good to actually watch things really really bright i love it

      @@tonypaca3015 Unless you're house is setup and viewing angles are more than 40 degrees, picture degrades. Oled still wins in that aspect.

    Hi after you complete your full QM8 from TLC and your full U8K from Hisense reviews I would love to see a head to head review maybe using a 65" or 75" TV as most people don't have space for an 85" and above in there living Rooms.... I was thinking before watching this Video Hisense 100% but now you have me scratching my head and saying not so fast.... please also address the Audio on both that would be greatly appreciated.... you always do an awesome Job of keeping reviews entertaining without talking down to consumers kudos for that!!!!

    Transient power spikes might be tolerated, which leads to higher peak brightness for short periods of time, but when that power is stabilized by the electronics, it settles at the lower number you saw.

    Do you know what SOC is being used here. Achilles heel for TCl/Hisense have been the soc used. They were not as good as flagship tvs.

    TCL is already selling X11G a 5k dimming zone and 5k NIT peak bright tv. For main stream market their Q10H has 2k dimming zones and 2k nit peak brightness. QM8 looks like a shrink down version of X11g spec wise but may charge flagship price . Why isn’t TCL putting their best product to market outside of China?

    • @csi2448
      @csi2448 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cause they'd be too expensive and not enough people would buy them. They don't have that brand recognition yet. They've released one flagship (the OG 8 Series) in the USA and the TV released in such poor shape that Best Buy put it on clearance and stopped carrying it very quickly

    I have the current TCL 6 series. Love the TV so far and mini led has won me over. This new TCL TV sounds awesome, but I'm disappointed that it's the only one in the TCL lineup going forward that offers mini led. My 65" 6 series retailed for $999. It's a shame that the new Q7 series won't offer mini led for about the same price to fill that void.
