Wallowing in the wretchedness of lust is the most humiliating, loathsome, shameful, ugly thing I'm managed to get myself into. And it feels impossible to overcome.

If you feel The Voice of The Lord Tugging on your Heart, Ask Forgiveness. When He answers, you will be Washed by The Blood of The Lamb, you will be Baptized with The Holy Spirit, you will be Changed ( 2Corinthians 5:17 ) You will know, Impossible Not to. Read The Bible Daily, The Holy Spirit will Teach and Guide you as you Read. Tell others what Christ has done in your life and how You were Saved and how They can be

I was able to overcome the sin of masturbation but still struggle with pre marital sex. The only sin left that I struggle with. Other temptations are easier to overcome. It took time though, with a few trips and stumble along the way. Now with Covid and most churches closed, we are stuck with mortal sin.

@Kelly Regan If you havent already try fasting along with prayer. You may even relapse the very next day, happened to me, but what Ive found is it will go forward into your future and you will reap the rewards of it. Our Lord said if we fast our Father in Heaven will see it and reward it. It strenghtens the will, which we all need strenghtened to stand firm and sin weakens the will. Always remember you are in a fight. Sin in your life wont just let you go but every attempt to break free from it even though you may backslide, is a victory. Dont get dishearthened, get up and go again cause if you do you are assured in God of your victory. You may loose a battle here and there but you will win the war if you persevere.

As someone who has struggled with this for years, I can say getting out of this pattern can seem very difficult. The temptation which then follows is to say: "oh well, I'm going to stop confessing then, so as to not abuse of the Lord's Mercy". If this is you, know that there is one way out. And that way is to get closer to God's heart (and Mother Mary through the daily rosary). Renew your prayer life, offer some sacrifices and ask for your own conversion. And remember, at the end of our live, there is only one tragedy, and it is to not have been a Saint. You can do it.

If one refused to go to confession because of denying that God could forgive him, that would be a sin of despair I think. But the priest normally tells you the reason and what to do, I hope he clarified the issue to you. I pray for you. God bless you and don't be discouraged.

If you want, schedule a general confession with a priest you can identify with and tell him about your concern about past sins. You can bring a long list with you. He will reassure you all confessed sins are forgiven and paid for. Focus on living each day honoring God with all you think, say and do and go to confession regularly. But accept absolution in your heart. Jesus paid the price to set you free. The devil wants you to remain chained. Oh Child of God, I pray you will spend time with Jesus and meditate on His overwhelming love and mercy and that the Truth will set you free. Blessings.

Going to confession as often as needed is a must, then getting to daily Mass and receiving the Eucharist as much as possible is a sure way to overcome our sins. I’m this way with attempts to follow good eating too... if i fall and eat something unhealthy, I don’t just pick myself up and say ok that was one bad decision, now stand back up, and make good decisions. Instead because I fell, I go deeper into the muck with the idea that today or this week is lost anyway, I may as well enjoy and on Monday I will be totally on track. Until then, I make poorer and poorer choices. I recognize this intellectually, I just don’t know how to stop this pattern of behaviour

I am still very young and youthful yet I struggle with sexual immorally quite a lot. Almost everyday I please myself by masterbation, I keep repenting, confessing and thinking that I am going to leave my sinful past life even though I just sin the same deadly sin over and over again to the point im getting addicted and I don’t like it, at all. I know I am not the only soul experiencing this; that’s why I just wanted to share and confess my sinful experiences. I thank you lord god for sending your only son to save and purify our evil, sinful souls. Guys please stay strong and always try your hardest to resist the devil, shout gods name for his grace shall make the devil tremble. Amen 🙏

Confession gives us more grace to help us avoid the same sin. Sins of impurity are some of the hardest to avoid. But never giving up is a must. I personally struggled against repeating the same sin even at least one time I committed another mortal sin only hours after confession, where I had just repented. But before I’d even done my penance a simple phone call from a girl friend led me straight back to the same sin. It’s very depressing to your heart and mind and it can cause you to think that your a reprobate and beyond any more forgiveness from God. But not surrendering yourself to despair is the only way back to sanity and peace of mind knowing that if you know what you’ve done is wrong,no matter how humiliated you feel about yourself, tell God that you do love him MORE than any sin,and make a confession as soon as possible and pray for strength to overcome.

I too had been that guy who presumed on Our Lord's Mercy. I had received guidance that when I repeated a sin "on the way" to Confession I stood with those who at Our Lord's Passion spat at Him, struck Him, and especially mocked Him. I helped press the crown of thorns into His head.

I really really needed this. I did this before my last confession and I felt like it was wrong to presume but I did it anyway. And I didn’t say it in my confession because I didn’t think it was an actual sin, I thought it would just be sufficient saying the sin itself. And that must be why I didn’t feel as relieved and cleansed as I usually do after confession

I am a divorce Catholic. Didn’t go to church, I met my boyfriend and have my 2nd child with him. My children are both baptised and I do teach them about God and praying. I felt modern and think church is too extreme and need some modernisation. But 5 years ago I felt God’s mercy and want to live Christian way. I seek Church annulment. Unfortunately my ex husband still hates me so he didn’t want to work together in this. My witness couldn’t give any valuable thing as I was very introvert person. When the church due to lack of evidence and doubt they can’t give me annulment, I am still going to church more frequent than before as my love for God. It’s been a year that I get more and more activate in church and service to other. It’s getting stronger that I feel the need to belongs to a congregation as tertiary. But of course I can’t do it as I am not even live in Christian way. My bf is almost atheist, if I suggest the idea of living as brother and sister, we will have problem which bring disadvantages for the children too. So I can’t do that. I feel so sad.

According to the saints scrupolosity is something that should be overcome. When we're scrupulous we both aren't recognizing God's mercy and we're (unknowingly) presuming our own goodness rather than realizing that it's only the love of God and His gooness in us that will keep us from sin. -someone who frequently falls into scruples too
God bless and Mary keep you.

I watched this video early this morning. It hit me like a tons of bricks. I am still thinking about it. I have never heard anything like this before. It makes so much sense, mostly because someone close to me did something that affected my life greatly. I forgave them ,but then It happened again. Also forgave them in time ,but there will be no more if it happens again. I know God is full of mercy, but on my part it is terrible to keep doing something you know that is not right to someone who loves you completely and keep expecting forgiveness. You really opened my eyes today. It makes me want to be so much better.

Don't take advantage of your Beloved Who made you, sought you upon Earth and even the Cross and across the valley of Death to find you. And suffered, allowed Himself to be able to suffer, and suffered for you, that you, might be with Him for all eternity. In His unfathomable, incomprehensible, and unimaginable, Love and Mercy for you.
Do not betray Him as He is even upon the Cross looking at you and redeeming you from your sins.
Do not afflict the Lord with this unspeakable agony.
Nothing hurts worse in this life than this.
Trust Him and abide in His Divine Mercy and Love. Live in His Most Sacred Heart. For He has made a place there for you.
God loves you. Go to Him.

Well said. As a secular person I don't really "have" the God thing in my life but morals are very important to me. Being really sorry for having committed some moral offense should mean you'll try to avoid making it in the future. If you keep relying on forgiveness "just 'cause" you said you're sorry - nope, that's not it. You're not believed after a while if you just keep repeating yourself.
It IS a mockery and it ends up hurting not just others but your own integrity and yes, soul, in my mind.
