heres an update after driving it for almost 5K miles: this car is absolutely phenomenal..its scary how precise and accurate it is in terms of handling, acceleration and the overall experience. I cant begin to fathom what these are like modified with the right parts seeing how perfect they are in their stock forms.
Turkee Sonvich I kept my car stock for the first 7 years of ownership. I used to wonder the same thing; now I no longer have to. It gets better when modified [correctly] ☺
Gan San is a LEGEND! You could not get that car around there faster if you tried! Bouncing off curbs at 125mph with the hood down, not dropping below 8,000 the whole way -he really tore it a new one!
Strange that it has a UK registration yet it is a Japanese LHD prototype. Looking at the DVLA it was first registered on the 5th of august 1998 and has been untaxed since 1st september '99.
i believe hes revmatching the gearbox with the engine so the downshift dont slow the car something like the heel toe technic except he dont need to break at that points
In alot of cases, if you downshift to quickly without matching the rpm that the car was at when you pushed the clutch in, the rear end will chatter the tires because the engine is trying to catch up with the higher gear ratio.
He didn't over-rev once. He red-lined it a bit but these cars were made to be driven like that. They make power all the way to red-line and have a mechanical fuel cut-off so the only way one would over-rev would be a down-shift that was supposed to be an up-shift.
If he shifts too early then he won't be within the rpm range for vtec for the next gear. I'm not sure what the earliest you can shift to stay in the range is on an AP1, but I know most people with AP1s love to go all the way to 9k. I go all the way to 8k in my AP2 and it is wonderful. Plus the lap wasn't timed so maybe he was just having some fun :)
khairul amilin Than you are doing it wrong. You don't shift at peak torque unless you are driving a diesel even more in a NA high rpm car because what makes you faster is the average power you make in the rpm range you are using. That's what you should aim to: highest power average rpm range.
Gan san legend, its like a test drive for him, just playing around.
He's driving this thing to the limit without a sweat!
From the leather jacket, to the sunglasses, to the white socks and loafers... it's like Senna in the NSX-R.
+JoeBlo2 That's how you drive Hondas
No, this is Motoharu Kurosawa otherwise known as Gan-san
+Nikola Begonja are you stupid? we know that
Nikola Begonja "like Senna"
NSX-R
sorry, misunderstood that part
He drove more respectful than most of the tourists you run into at the ring...
Because he is Japanese.. 🤙

Turkee Sonvich That’s the engine you are hearing

Its fucken awesome to watch a skilled professional driver like Gan San driving the Nurburgring so effortlessly compared to the other amateurs lol

@majch thats how a honda is suppose to be driven.
Questo significa guidare!!!
Motoharu"
poor gear box, but pretty nice control !
some great heel toe
But the voice over said 125mph. We all know that the speedo is in kph, S2000's can't go 220mph.
are those dress shoes? lol
why he 'over rev' instead of perfect shift?
He didn't over-rev once. He red-lined it a bit but these cars were made to be driven like that. They make power all the way to red-line and have a mechanical fuel cut-off so the only way one would over-rev would be a down-shift that was supposed to be an up-shift.
But still, the best torque is at 7-8k. Mine is k20a. I shift at 7.5
If he shifts too early then he won't be within the rpm range for vtec for the next gear. You shouldn't question this guy at all hehe, especially if you don't even know anything about vtech at all :)
guys this was in 1999 or 98 LOL O_O
stelvio is pants, too tight, full of people on push bikes and falling rocks, i wont be going back!
to bad I'm to tall for one of these :( my accord will do for now I guess.
