Hi everyone! Lots covered here - timestamps below There’s still much more to reading music, this video just focuses on one aspect And of course it still takes lots of practice too, no getting around that I’m afraid but hopefully this helps you on the way! 0:00 How This Works 0:51 The basics/1sts & 2nds 4:00 3rds + Important Tips 7:50 The SECRET SAUCE To Reading Intervals 9:12 Where You Can Practice FREE Online 10:26 4ths & 5ths + Useful Tips 17:07 6ths, 7ths & Octaves 20:37 Reading Chords 21:31 Reading In Other Key Signatures
For me as a complete beginner to piano music your TH-cam is the best of the ones that I’ve watched. Your pace is perfect for beginners. Hope you do lots more.
When I first started out I read a lot about how notes are called. When I read sheet music I tried to figure out, what the names of the notes were and then tried to find them on my piano. The note on the middle line of the treble clef is called B, but some call it H, si or ti. I found it easier to remember it is just right to the middle key of the 3 black keys. Small kids can learn to play piano, but they don't know the alphabet. I guess we should start out with not thinking about the alphabet when learning the piano.
Thank you for this tutorial! It was great to set up the on line practice for reading intervals and has helped already!! I have recently started to try sight reading so I’m very grateful 😀
Thank you for another great video! Can’t wait for your next video on how to read chords. Apparently , identifying chords helps with memorizing a song. So I started doing that but it can be a frustrating exercise. I am currently learning Heller’s Fluttering Leaves op.46 no11 and while some of the broken chords are easily identifiable, others are a complete mystery, maybe because they are inverted, augmented or diminished and one note is missing 😅. In those cases, how can we identify the chord? It could be 2 different chords and how do we know which it is?
The only thing you need to know for reading sheet music, is: 1) The notes F in bass clef, C between bass and treble clef and G in treble clef. 2) All the 3 notes of the chord of C Major scale. Try to find out. It will work.
That is one way to starting identifying individual notes yes but bit more to it than to read quicker which is what this video was mainly about. Few other tactics that can help as I started to outline here, using intervals and chords etc, recognising familiar patterns 👍
Does anyone know? I connected the piano pedal to the piano, but it doesn't work and the keyboard doesn't make any music sound. When I plug in the piano pedal, no sound appears.🥲!

That’s great, hope it’s useful!
Great ideas and straightforward presentation. So much there it could have been two videos.
Thanks, yes lots packed in here, had to filter some stuff out too actually and keep it snappy as I could but lots I wanted to get across 👍
Very helpful and informative🎉
Great to hear, thanks for watching
Thank you for this guide. It makes it seem a bit less scary. What music should I begin with? I know this is a stupid question but I had to ask.
Did you know that the treble cleft is a letter G and the bit that curls in with the dot at the end points to the G on the music sheet?
Soooooo helpful ❤
Good to hear

Very interesting topic! I'm looking forward to watch this video later when I'm home 🤗👍

I play by ear and don't know how to read music, so don't worry because it doesn't matter.

If the sound has disappeared, is it possible you have accidentally plugged it into the headphone socket?
I did not do anything. I just bought it and this is my first use. I just plugged the pedal in and there was no sound or echo.

@@HelzBelles I called and there was no answer. It looks like I fell for a scam, but no problem. I will fix it myself, thank you, brother🤍
😬 Hope you manage to get it sorted!
Doesn't it have a switch on the side?
