I'm trying Fire for the first time and was watching the guide and he kept on saying IB, and I was like "what the hell is IB?". I was able to figure it out that it was Fire Blast, but was confused for a couple minutes and was still not 100% sure. I was thinking there was a proc or passive that I wasn't aware of. Thanks for the clarification.
Hey man amazing video, you have increased my confidence in playing fire! One question, is fire viable because of pi? I’m asking this because the only logs that compete with arcane mostly have pi
PI definitely helps a ton but you dont need it for sure. Fire and Arcane sim very close on pure ST and you can beat 99% of arcane parses as fire without PI. Both specs are pretty similar, not gonna lie and tell you fire is better than arcane or completely equal but theyre close enough that me, a person in top20 world guild, is playing it in several progress bosses (without PI most of the time)
They play very differently. Fire is incredibly more mobile, and a little more free flowing. Arcane is pretty well set in stone how you do it. Both are very fun imo, and the fact they play so different is great from a gameplay perspective.
How important is keeping yhe execute buff up? Should i always aim for 2 stacks during the excutephase? Or is letting it drop to spam instant casts more effective
Im assuming he does it to lower the cd on combustion further as it's 1 extra spell cast. You channel fire then press combust pyro and u start combust with 2 spells used instead of 1 if you do pyro combust cuz then u have gcd and u cant pyro again
I explain it in the video - you lose 1 instant cast pyro in the hyperthermia window but you get 1 extra spell in combust because of the pre-cast possibility into combust. The pre-cast wins out in that equation. It's straight up 1 extra free spell in combust pretty much
Hey @forgyy What are your thoughts on the “candle confidant” trinket? I don’t have a spymaster. I have a sacbrood and an unbound changeling. But my candle confidant sims WAY higher than both. But I’ve heard some people say it’s potentially a sim bait item. (Something about the little Npc it spawns not being the same every time) Obviously I want a spymaster trinket. But until I get one, should I just listen to the sims and use the candle? Just curious on your thoughts.
For it to do maximum damage you need to be closer to your target since you summon a pet taht has to run to melee range and its timer based. The longer it has to run - the more dmg u lose

I have a question. What if you start the fight with 40 spymaster stacks? Would you use spymaster on pull or would you keep those 40 stacks until the end to benefit from that extra int the whole fight?
in raid this cannot happen. In dungeons, you can use it at 40 stacks whenever you want or hold it for specific pulls/moments as long as ur not holding it too long. On average I'd try to use it once every 5min so you can have it line up with lust+pot and once in between or so

It's something I want to do but 11.05 is changing some important aoe talents and stuff which releases in 2-3 weeks so I will wait for that ^^ For now you can do the exact same ST rotationa nd just replace pyroblast with flamestrike on 4-5+ targets and youll do really good still
i saw ur guide video and u said that for the aoe flamestrike build it was only worth to flamestrike at 5+ target but even if i sim 3, 4 or 5 targets it all says FS performs better only on single and duo targets it doesnt perform aswell as PB what settings did u run ur sims at ?
I'm not sure what you simmed but there is no chance that flamestrike is better at 1/2/3 targets. If you can link the sim I'll be happy to tell you what went wrong

Wasting combustion CDR is really bad considering its majority of our damage. Regular pyroblasts are not that strong and you should re-orient your mentality around that. A fireball in Combust does more damage (with resulting effects added in) than a pyroblast outside of combust. Which is also the answer to your second question. Scorch does absolutely negative damage, and fireball does ok damage and in combust, scorch still does negative dmg while fireball does pretty good damage.
i dont use elvUI that addon is a headache and ruins my fps every time i try it even with disabling 50% of it. I use shadowed unit frames + weakauras + bartender + blizz UI on some stuff. Anything shareable is shared on my discord in weakauras channels and pins
im not sure - aug doesnt affect logs but this is obv just details. At time of fight I was pretty confident it wouldve been rank 1 not sure bout atm since more logs happened/gear etc. When we do reclear again Ill make sure to get the rank 1 =)
This is refreshing to know that fire isnt as bad as people are claiming. A lot of annoying little nuances though. Im about 612 ilvl and can only manage around 900k dmg in good conditions, dunno how you managed 1.4mil hahah

Letting it drop sometimes is appropriate. It falls just under IB/Empowered PF in combust. Other than that you should maintain it.

Why dont we use hyperthermia and at the end of it we use fireball and go into combust? Feels bad ignoring hiperthermia just cuz we have Combust

Why are you calling fire blast IB?
its cuz it used to be called Inferno Blast, and FB can also mean Fireball, so to avoid confusion, mages commonly refer to fire blast as IB
