Hello. Thanks for your videos. Great for beginners like myself. I’m fighting with myself on whether to use a ruler or not. Your style is working for you as lines are very straight. Freehand is much faster. I think I’ll just practise line drawing Do you have any thoughts or tips on how to get good proportions? Mine are not very good. Thanks. BE SAFE.

I think whether you want to use a ruler or freehand lines depends on what style you're aiming for, if you want precision I don't seen any problem in using tools to help you get that look. For proportions, I mentally divide my image into halves and quarters and then see where the features of the drawing would sit relative to my imaginary lines - maybe that's a topic for a future video!
