  • As a first step to expanding my live steam hobby I need a bigger workshop. New workshop shed arrived yesterday, build took about 4 hours total, excluding stops for tea and food.
    Thank you to my wife Haiyan for lending a hand for the roof, possible but tricky to do on your own. You will see me using the safety approved "Construction High Access Increased Reach" tool (CHAIR) for doing the higher parts. Now to outfit it.

    I think it took me 2 days total including building a floor,instructions are pretty good but vague in some spots and sometimes the plastic panels are a little tough to line up but over all not too bad.Seems like a pretty nice shed,we'll see how it holds up over time,it doesn't leak during a good rain so that's good.

      Hi there, the shed was framed inside with timber, insulated and plaster boarded, floor was insulated and laminate put down. Its been up for 7+ years now, no issues at all, walls, floor and roof still watertight, no maintenance required at all, looks almost as good as new.

    I would have liked to see how you put in the pavers for the floor foundation. Did you fill the space below them with gravel or are they resting on wood?

    • @calziewalzie
      @calziewalzie  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, each of the corners of the slabs are resting on medium density concrete blocks (so one block supports 4 slabs corners, these blocks were just placed on the hard packed earth with a mix of sand and post concrete to make them level, easy to remove if needed.

    Hi, I have this shed in the middle of building it I got the foundation done and everything set up to attach and screw. I’m at the corner wall and wall panels, I’m having the hardest time with the corners, the part where you push in the tabs just won’t push through, I tried the wood trick underneath as well it’s difficult. I even sprayed WD40 on one to try, any tips as a single mom having a hard time building this thing that you would recommend for the wall? Also it’s hard to grab the top and push on it because of the groove on top it I think with gloves it should be better? I need to get this done asap, appreciate it thanks

      @calziewalzie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, I remember the corners as being tricky, I could get the tabs in ok but needed to use a hammer and wood block to slide the panel into position. Just make sure the base is really flat, any unevenness will make building shed tricky

      No just sat on slabs, but the shed is framed inside with 2x3, insulated, plasterboarded and laminated floor fitted, so quite heavy even when empty.

    Just 1 question why put the window against the hedge?

    • @gottathinkupanewone
      @gottathinkupanewone 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. The flooring that comes with the shed is about half an inch thick. You need something solid under that.

    • @calziewalzie
      @calziewalzie  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The shed has been framed, insulated and plaster boarded inside so the window is unused.

      Jose Gonzalez Hi Jose. Honestly, I couldn't give you a solid answer as there are so many factors. I put it together myself with a little help from my brother. I can't remember exactly how long it took but I did take my time (somewhere between 6-10 hours). Read as many reviews on the shed, you'll find alot mention how long it took, some mention who they got to install it. Usually the shop you buy it from, or the actual companies website will have info on who you can hire to install it. If you find someone who installs these on a regular basis, they can probably do it in 4-6 hours. Someone who has never put together a plastic shed could take double that time. Best advice I can give is to shop around for quotes on installation cost. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

    They have got to be the worst shed on the market,,I see them as a shelter more than a shed because if anyone wanted to break in to it,they would just pull it Apart,,,you should build yourself a proper shed mate
