Just found out about Windows96 about a week ago, and my god I love this kind of music so much. They're slow, but not boring, and for some reason they kinda feel nostalgic...
I definitely agree with you. His music is very special and magical. I can't think of any bad album by him, make sure you check out his whole discography!
it's the year 2019, and i had to sadly move away from my friends and family to an isolated town in the middle of nowhere, barely any contact with anywhere else in the world. and in this town i thought i would grow to hate, would be the birth of my favourite music genre of vaporwave. remembering i had to walk long hours from school to house, i remember listening to windows 96 and his album of one hundred mornings. i never knew that i would adore every day, listening to windows 96 as i studied, went on midnight walks and slept on lazy days... however, i soon had to move again back to my friends thankfully due to the pandemic, but the town i lived in for a short while will always be remembered as the birth of vaporwave for me. i almost wished i could turn back time and move back in that quiet town... witness the first time listening to windows 96 again...
Funny. I also moved from friends and family in 2019 (Well more specifically late December 2018 but it may as well have been 2019) except in this case I moved from a rural neighborhood that I spent my whole childhood growing up to an urban area, and I also discovered vaporwave around the time. Though unfortunately I didn't move back to my old town during the pandemic, which turned out to be the most miserable year of my life; no friends, my dog I had for 11 years died, parents nearly got divorced, and overloads of schoolwork.
It's pretty much been a whole year since someone's commented on this video. And I just have to say that this album almost perfectly encapsulates exactly how I feel. In spite of my alcohol problem, this album always helps me feel grounded. There isn't anything more perfect on this Earth than music that helps you feel contempt with how you feel, no matter how dark it gets.
The algorithms work in their mysterious ways. I'm glad you find your true self through this music and wholeheartedly agree that music is the rope reaching anyone who thought themselves lost.
After listening to all of this. My personal favorite out of this album has to be Rituals. Idk why but it feels like I'm just thrown into this alternate reality where everything is chill and there's not a care in the world.
I first started listening to vaporwave today. Can't help but admit that I'm falling in love with it. It does sort of feel like it's the future of music, but I could be wrong.
It has always been a peculiar genre. I personally feel like it is a timeless genre and transcends so many others. You just can´t put a label onto it like, say, music from the 50´s or the 80´s. It is its own thing and I´m very happy with that. Have fun exploring other vaporwave artists and albums my friend.
Win96 feels like vaporwave in style around it but the music itself is much more complex and original compositions. For me vaporwave is more about sampling.
in my mind its 1992, im walking into computer class, shoulders back, all the other kids watching in disbelief.... im the coolest nerd stompin the halls....
The first nine songs, yes. However, Windows96 has issued bonus songs last year and made them available on a vinyl reprint. This is the "updated" version of the record/album.
remember, listen to Windows96 (or other vaporwave artists), put your daily life and problems aside for a moment and enjoy. Then carry on with new strength. The good always comes back.

I found Windows96 while I was in a very similar situation during the same time period. Pretty cool!

I hope your parents are working towards brighter days and you found friends.
Gabriel's music's been creating some unordinary life perspectives in my mind and overall imagination. I like the style.

Electronica. Close to the likes of YELLOW MAGI ORCHESTRA
fr but vaporwave usually remixes samples so that its better than the original
I feel nostalgic listening to this but can't pinpoint what specific memory causes it.
Welcome to the genre of vaporwave, buddy. Enjoy.

I would love to hear the story of how this album was created, it's so iconic.
