Arguably the most listened to artist of my adult life. His work truly embodies a feeling which simultaneously feels like waking up as a kid to eat cereal and watch cartoons on a saturday while also containing trace amounts of the romanticism of growing up in a strange and indifferent yet beautiful world. The song Hello Earth has walked me back from several catastrophic "oh crap I'm too high" moments.
Isn’t it incredible that your 10 year old self would have found this just as mesmerizing and mysterious as you do today? And probably for the exact same reasons. Like waking up hours before the adults when it was still dark and seeing what the tv would show, enjoying that rare hour(s) before the real world turned on.
I grew up watching a lot of these early CGI animations. I remember one day as a young child my parents brought home some VHS tapes from the thrift store and one of them was a compilation of these CGI animations. These were my childhood and some of them I haven't seen in years, takes me back to simpler times. Thank you for compiling them with windows96's amazing music for the maximum nostalgia, means a lot to me.
Hello person from the past, as another person who also grew up watching these types of animations (on dvd's rather than vhs) were any of those possibly called "The minds eye" or "Televoid"? If these arent the ones you watched, id seriously recomend you looking out for them and watching them as they are exactly this. Hope this brings you well, love
@@amygarcia9838 The other possibility is Computer Animation Festival vol 1-3. 2 minutes into this video is Flora & Fauna, which was in vol 2. Believe they were assembled by the same person / people as Mind's Eye.
Ha, I was going to suggest it might have been one of the Mind's Eye videos, but I see two people have already beaten me to it! I had Beyond The Mind's Eye ... back when glimpses of what "The Future" would look like still came on VHS tapes ... what days those were!
Hope everybody is doing well! Here's the much awaited fourth installment in the "Best of" series featuring Windows96, one of the most beloved & creative producers to be found within the Vaporwave genre. Also, sorry for being so inactive the last month or so. That may continue for a bit, but I'm still thinking of ideas for & working on future mixes & Best of's. The next one may be vcr-classique, but we'll see. There's still a lot of other producers I'd like to do some for & I'll eventually be doing part 2's for Luxury Elite, 猫 シ Corp., & Windows96 as well. Much love, your boi SS

I've been a huge fan of windows 96 for about 3 years now. These visuals are truly amazing. I get a really good unexplainable feeling from this. Please never delete this
I find the first song the most incomparable to the others, it feels so genuinely peaceful. Even though I didn’t grow up watching these, they still bring the anemoia of better times when people were happier.
Gavriel - brazilian vaporwave musician Currently at São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil Also Known As: Gabriel Eduardo, Windows 96, Gudang, White Gavri'el, Yvyy Genres: Synthwave, Vaporwave
The Best Of series is honestly so cool and kind of an original concept that no ones' really done for vaporwave artists, great videos and visuals as always
ever since i found this video a few months ago i have literally played it entirely through 3 times a day while i do school. this astronomically fucks. and the animations are just my favooorite. so sick. thank you thank you
Thanks for the hard work compiling and finding all this music for us. You were the channel that got me into vapourwave, and even years later I'm still coming back. Keep up the good work pal!
This is [still] truly one of the most beautiful video + music albums compilations done on TH-cam out there, thanks once again for this preciousness of a video brother (or sister, idk)
this mix means so much to me! im a huge Windows96 fan!/ all their other aliases, lol. got all their vinyls (so far) and i thought i was a fan until hearing some of these songs i didnt even know and its like life is so special, ya know? we get to be here for this and maybe even make our own art and i love you all! :) i was stuck walking home from work (10 miles) for a while but i honestly loved it cause my adventure home always started with this mix (and so many other hundreds of walks lol)! if you make a chapter two, can you please put heals by gavriel in there?
This whole album/compilation has such a *happy* vibe I never saw anywhere else apart from the old 4kids cgi cartoons I watched on Discovery Kids decades ago...damn this whole stuff hits hard
Been listening to windows 96 religiously for around 6 years now and 60% of the music I listen to today is still windows 96 lol. Started when I began learning to code and I wouldn't wanna write code to anything else
Thank you for this, really nice compilation of a great artist 🙏🏼. The only thing i am missing are some tunes from "Plume Valley". A great album in my opinion. Other than that, keep up the great work. Love your channel. ♥️
I'm glad you enjoy but sadly I don't have any control over the ads. If a video I post has copywritten material in it TH-cam just puts ads in the video by default :(
Those old synth sounds that tried to sound like existing instruments sound so wistful and sad now… like someone who tried his whole life to be a famous singer but fell short and now he works in a factory with all the other could-have-beens
I have a distinct memory as a young kid watching similar animations to this on a TV via VHS. The video I saw had more humanoid shapes but the way watching it made me feel was non repeatable until I found this.
Today I climbed some high trees (20/25 meters) while playing this album. The beauty of nature, sensation of the height and enjoyment through the album, resulting in a deeply satisfying experience of escape and fulfillment. Would recommalend strongly!

Windows 96 is far more than mere vapourwave. The guy's a real genius & pioneer.

Truly brings you on a journey. I used to listen to vaporwave during late shifts at a beach. By Myself I would sit and listen to this. It was magical.

A best of windows is the best I could ask for. An absolutely essential artist in my life, that new album is gonna be awesome!
These visualisations are kind of like digital artefacts that should be preserved and appreciated in museums and unique vaporwavy exhibitions

what is this style of art called?
@@skrimp1256 mallsoft/vaporwave
@@prod.sleepdabeat Those are a little different, I found that it's just called like 80's CGI but thanks!

Windows96 hits hard, and Sound Station has good taste.
Thanks a lot for showing this complication. This animation is the most awesome thing I ever saw. Never seen like this before. Thank you for revealing
I’ve been waiting for this ever since I started listening to windows96 thank you for your work 🙏🙏
Some of these sound rather fantastic at 1.25 or 1.5 speed such as underwater
