Wish I could make it to the openings - sound awesome and wishing you all the best :) Bit far for me here in Australia, but I'm with you in spirit :) VERY jealous of your book pics - we just don't see that quality and volume of stuff here in Australia on a regular basis. Your previous video of your fly-fishing book pick had my father and I cursing you at the screen. I've been selling books online for around 25 years and Dad used to have a 2nd-hand bookstore before he retired from it around 15 years ago. I sometimes don't mind coming across expensive books that have some condition issues - I know that they are sought-after, but the condition allows me to price lower thereby allowing some 'starter' collectors to obtain a copy that they might not otherwise be able to afford, and I know it will move quickly due to the much lower price. Awesome finds that you are showing!
Definitely good for those starter collectors for sure, either way they will move well. There is a ton of material in the states, definitely a benefit of being here. Thank you very much for the comment, glad you enjoy the finds and content!
I was just thinking your hair is looking particularly luscious in this video (and thanks for the shoutout)! It'll be a sad day to see your long hair go but I totally get the cycles of change - I do the same with mine. I'm at the middle of my back currently so probably won't be too long before I go for a big chop myself. I usually donate, when I do, and last time I went for shaved sides and a brightly coloured faux hawk back in 2020. That was exciting!
@@thebookpeddler I do! Long hair is great as you can just throw it up. Short hair needs more maintenance for me as it meant styling every day or I ended up a fluffy monster. At the time I was doing BJJ too and people didn’t get whipped in the face when it was short and I didn’t get it caught in people’s pits or whatever, but it would end up looking crazy wild after an hour rolling. I actually found I washed it more when it was shorter, because it was easier to tame it fresh. Depends how short you go I suppose though. During the pandemic, when the salon was closed, I clipped it very short and that was super easy to manage.
Great books! I always enjoy finding fishing books, since I do a lot of smallmouth fishing. I went to an estate sale today with a lot of great heritage press titles, the ones that are worth it haha. Well, I’m second in line and I’m the first in the book area, and I see a few titles and the rest are gone. I assume the estate sale company looked them up and kept them for themselves. What’s the point of even going to these estate sales when someone is picking them before or the company is taking them.
Possibly, did you ask them where they were? I woulda been pissed, told them you just lost a high paying customer for good. I've been having issues with some auctioneers lately, doesn't take much to flip through a book and see there is pen used in underlining a book excessively but no mention in the listing. There's a lot of nonsense that goes on with different companies, it can get frusterating, especially if you're in business. Glad you liked the video, thanks for the comment!
Can’t stand when there’s highlighting in books. Had to discard a few nice books recently due to that. There’s a few estate sale companies that I won’t go to anymore due to similar things. this is probably another one. Always enjoy your videos! I learn a lot and look forward each week when you drop a new video. Take care!
*Just Saying...* Many handsome professionals sport longer hair and a #3-5 beard. Considering your "outdoorsy area"...I don't think the length of your *enviable* hair will make or break you. :D
Good luck Phil from the UK with your shop openings Regards Grant
Thank you!
Wish I lived closer...sounds like a blast coming up!
Good luck on the opening, Phil ! Wish you well !
Thank you!

Congrats on the opening Phil! I loved seeing the books from that overhead view great job!
Thanks Katey! Trying to get better with new equipment!
Great finds!!
Thanks!
Looking forward to the grand opening party vlog. The overhead view is great.
Thank you!
You mentioned that they'll be lots of fun activities to take part in. Will one be: taking turns at a piñata filled with first editions? 🎉😂
Might have to add that to the event list! Hahah
Congrats Phil
Thank you!
