It's true that we are His! But He is not ours. To say that He is mine is not correct. And I hear it a lot in songs. God is greater than we can imagine, so how could we ever 'have' Him. But the song over all is nice!

Matthea Hanse I'm sure it's biblical to say He is ours. Can't think of a verse off the top of my head but I'm sure it is in there somewhere!

The bible is covered with the expression "our God" that in Hebrew is for expressing belonging and owning something, so saying "Our God" is similar to "God is ours", so stop trying to push your analysis based on what you think and go read the bible.

Art Roj-Ter I'm reading my Bible every day sir, since I've been born and that's 19 years ago

Art Roj-Ter, My statement is this still, whether you believe the Hebrew words mean this or that, or not: God is great, high and to be feared. He is the same as in the old testament. He leads our lives and He says what to do, cause He is Lord. We are "slaves" of Christ, the Bible says. A master says to his slave: you are mine, not a slave or servant to his master. He is also OUR Father, but we never say that a father belongs to his child, but that a child belongs to his father. So my point is: if He is not already and we have a miscommunication, make Jesus the real Lord of your life. Give Him your life and He will lead you and tell you what to do and the things that are right and wrong. Bless you, my friend!
