I personally think John Wall can be useful on contending and non-contending teams. Though I find it very difficult to believe that he might become an all-star caliber player again. But who really knows I could be wrong.

While it's true that Wall had a good rookie season that foreshadowed his eventual rise into an All-Star, he did not, in fact, win ROY in 2011. He actually placed second behind Blake Griffin.
Wall did help make Gilbert Arenas expendable, so there was also that.

I've met the man I'm from NC as well. He was an asshole in his younger days lol. There's a video of him and my brother going at it at the pro-am in my city at NCCU in like 2010-2011. I used to not like him but I like how he grew and became more humble. I've always been a Houston fan as well. I still think we should have been traded him so he didn't have to sit but I wish the best for him.
He doesn't need to be an all star anymore, if he minimizes turnovers and maximizes his speed in bursts, he could still be a viable starting PG. He should polish his game below the rim tho

Yes he's extremely fast, great handle, can get to the Rim easily, and it looks cool. But actually finishing at the rim? He's been inconsistent for a couple of years now, especially since coming off of his injuries he's not as explosive.

Almost every contract handed out that crazy summer was bad. 2016 I think. Everyone was throwing money away. I couldn't understand it. Mozgov? 4 years 64 million!? For what?? He isn't going to help you win or take you to the next level. So why even bother? Sign someone young and hope for the best. And save that money until you actually have a target and a chance. Half of the contracts signed that summer were a total waste of money.

I don’t blame him for sitting out if Houston won’t play him, that’s way too much money to pass up. I just hope by 2023 when it runs out he’s still got enough gas in the tank left to be a 6th man or just play good, meaningful basketball.
I read something earlier today saying that Wall is going to pick up his option, but if there's not trade to be done by a certain point (not sure exactly when), then he's going to work on a buyout agreement. Like you said, it's a LOT of money to pass up otherwise.
There's a lot of skepticism, but I believe Washington would be a good spot for him, with some of the offensive weapons in place. Not title contenders, but a place for him to fit and seriously gauge him, compared to a team that wasn't trying to actually win last year.
For someone who started watching the nba in 2014 it was Steph , Westbrook , Kyrie , wall and IT the top PG's in the league at that time. You could add dame to the list as well. I used to play nba mobile in 2017 and we used to get these tokens during the playoffs where you basically predicted who would win each game and got some awards for that and i remember the series of Boston and wizards really well cuz i got everyone of those guesses perfectly right. That wall three pointer was actually insane. It's a shame he choked but IT was top 4 in MVP conversation at that time. It's crazy how he's not even I'm the league now.

I was the Ultimate John wall fan and I can say for a period of time he definitely had the worst contract. Homie was not playing for 2+ years and got so much money and he wasn't the same afterwards.
